Protecting flimsy canvas frames?, by dogzero on Sept 16, 2012 17:23:18 GMT 1, Hi all,
If you buy a canvas that has less than robust stretcher bars, how do you prevent it warping over time?
More valuable art generally (but not always!) comes on a sturdier frame. Is it sacrilege for me to get steel braces fitted to the back of a piece?
Cheers,
AJ.

Protecting flimsy canvas frames?, by payney on Sept 16, 2012 17:28:59 GMT 1, You could get a tray frame made for the canvas to sit in, leaving around 5-7mm I'm sure mfm could help you out,

Protecting flimsy canvas frames?, by curiousgeorge on Sept 16, 2012 18:32:07 GMT 1, I would be inclined to put robust stretcher bars in if the image allows
You want it taut like a snare drum(depending on medium used)
