VLH current value, by bdr79 on Mar 25, 2024 12:41:32 GMT 1, Morning all,
I hope everyone had a smashing weekend.
Just wanted some opinions on where you think current price is for a Very Little Helps.
I've looked at BanksyValue, but with no recent sales logged....I'm guessing any sales over the last year will have taken place outside of Auction.
Never framed. CoA.
Whats a realistic expectation for a private sale?
Thanks

Glasgow Herald , by bdr79 on Jun 15, 2023 14:35:55 GMT 1, Folks,
I have about 5 or 6 newsagents within a mile or so of the house.
Pretty sure they'll all have a handful of Herald's available.
Banksy mania hasn't kicked in yet......there's no mad scramble going on.
If anyone is interested I could pick some up.
UK based for sending.
Cheers John

Banksy Valuation, by bdr79 on Nov 8, 2021 17:32:49 GMT 1, Hi all,
Could any of you kindly opine on value of below Banksy pieces if privately sold, I checked Banksy-Value and theres a wide spread:
*Silver Flags (unsigned) CoA in name. Condition wise....as good a Flags as I've ever seen. Will include some pics.
I saw a flags go unsold at Bukoski's in Sweden last week. 3-400k SEK was estimate and reserve at 300k. Highest bid was 290k SEK (approx £25k) but had some real bad creasing on it. Condition wasn't great at all.
Is there any premium on a Flags in really good shape?
* Time Out Sydney Rat. Obviously no CoA etc. Have an invoice from purchase 6 years ago.
* Monkey Parliament (with receipt)
* Soup Cans (posters)
* I Fought the Law (unsigned) CoA in hand, requires name change. I have the CoA, just awaiting PC update and confirm.
Thanks John

Christie's Art Auctions , by bdr79 on Mar 30, 2021 17:37:27 GMT 1, So are all previous hammered bids still standing as current highest bidders?
You'd be fairly pissed off as a buyer....but totally get it.
Good luck to Dzigavertov....I hope you see a little more flow your direction.

Christie's Art Auctions , by bdr79 on Mar 30, 2021 15:09:38 GMT 1, What does Price Realised mean? Is that the TOTAL paid by the buyer? No its hammer price + buyers premium only. You have to add VAT to the premium and ARR to get total price to a UK buyer and import duty of 5% on some pieces that have come from outside the UK So using VLH as an example (it was subject to UK VAT, Import Vat and ARR)....
Hammer Price £75,000 Buyers premium(25%) £18,750 Import Vat (5% of HP&BP) £4,687.50 UK Vat (20% of BP) £3,750 ARR (4%..?) £3,000 1% top of estimate £750
Total £105,937.50
Is that what we are saying total Buyers cost to be?

Banksy™ Thrower print, Gross Domestic Product™, by bdr79 on Feb 12, 2021 12:46:37 GMT 1, If I sell my house I would be able to buy this one, I guess. But then I no longer have a place to live. So this is a pass for me :-) I was tempted - sell the house, maybe (and it's a big maybe) enough left for a small tent in the woods but not sure I'd be able to hang them in there, they'd get damp and spoil, pass for moi aussi Hang it on a tree....3 trees.
There you go problem solved.
Get the house on the market......appreciate some pics of the tent and tree's displaying your new art work when transactions are complete.
De Rien

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by bdr79 on Feb 5, 2021 15:40:56 GMT 1, I've been away for a little while and have a few questions 1) What is the current value (insurance) of Very Little Helps and Sale Ends v2? 2) Peckham Rock, what's with that? £200-£300? Really? 3) Soup Can Posters, around £1K? Christie's valued Very Little Helps at GBP 50k to 70k recently for me for an upcoming Banksy auction they have. That said, major auction house valuations have been wildly off and sales prices have been all over (on the up) so I'd take that with a pinch of salt. Given recent auction results, I'd think for a signed, small edition it may go higher in spite of the perceived more limited appeal of the Tesco image. Very Little Helps sold for £98k last week.

TIME OUT POSTER SYDNEY , by bdr79 on Feb 1, 2021 19:45:30 GMT 1, I have one of these....forgot I had it. Just looked it out.
I do remember though I intended to cut off the "Time Out' bit, and get the Rat framed.
Might be glad i never got round to/forgot about it.
Are these worth more than the Tesco, WOH posters now? Worth more than a Box set??
Is this now sitting in the space between say a BoxSet and MP value wise?
Thanks John

HM Heroin, by bdr79 on Jan 30, 2021 16:15:49 GMT 1, Hey everyone,
So I have HM's Heroin currently gathering dust in a cupboard (along with too many other pieces).
I know there's not a lot of love for this on here.....and it isn't the most wall friendly!
I have 2 young kids, hence it's gonna be in the cupboard for the long foreseeable!
What's a fair value for this?
Best place to try and move it on....Ebay?
Anyone who has any opinion would love to hear from.
Hope everyone keeping safe & well.
John

Obey suspending UK orders , by bdr79 on Dec 18, 2020 13:27:40 GMT 1, I find those that voted for Brexit are open and still quite proud that they voted for it, and that they 'won'. I wonder in a few years time when everyone is collectively poorer, there is no rebuilding of the empire, there is no wonder trade deal with the US and the promised investment from 'other countries' is not forthcoming....whether perhaps they might deny they were Brixteers! Very sad situation. I think well summarized. It is very sad to see how the kingdom is destroying itself. I‘m German, I always loved to travel to the UK, I had a lot of funny nights in different cities / pubs and Clubs. Also you are very Special and I believe the Most of you have a big alcohol problem 😉😂 or a problem without 🤔😂 it was always a great time. I have been now a few times in the UK after you voted with leave and to be honest it changed a lot, the people are not so relaxed anymore, not so friendly a lot has changed at their behavior, you can feel it directly when arriving at the airport. I have to say, I will miss you in the EU and hope you will find in some years your way back to us and the people who voted with leave will see the advantages they had in the past years. Hopefully you will not get in trouble when Scotland decides to leave, Northern Ireland will be United with the Republic, if all this happen you will be very alone on your island ( ok at the end you will have Wales and a Lot of sheep’s 😂 ironic off ) Hope to see you one day again at the EU
I sometimes wonder if it would have been easier just to give England a vote for independence. Leaving Scotland, Wales and North Ireland to remain in Europe!
Obviously it wouldn't have been as straightforward as that, and realise that the remaining members wouldn't hold anywhere near the level of power or persuasion that we did, nor would I have wanted the UK to break up.
But it would have satisfied those with a thirst for 'sovereignty' in the south.
Sadly I think this plays into the nationalist hands in Scotland, and then we will see (Mc)Boris style lies about how great it will be to Scexit.....how easy it will be to get back into Europe.
"Vote Poorer".....

Banksy Signed CND for sale, by bdr79 on Nov 23, 2020 1:51:33 GMT 1, I was lucky to buy a Grey NBG back in 2010 for £2500, however I also could have bought this for £4k and Very Little Helps for £3K.....
I love these stories. Shared one the other day on the Pink Donuts at WestBank Galleries.
The week running up to Brexit I agreed to buy Signed CND for £10,500...!
"Unfortunately I will have to increase the prices with about 10% after Brexit since the GBP has plummed... It's probably better for you to buy another one inside UK?"
Couldn't blame the guy. Nice enough chap. The arse had fallen out of GBP.
I let this slide for a lousy £1,050 (plus flights to Sweden).
He also had GS for £3.7 and MQ for £4.2. If only i could back and speak to the younger version of me.
Fucking idiot.
Fucking Brexit!

Looking For Unsigned Banksy for £30k, by bdr79 on Nov 22, 2020 3:07:24 GMT 1, Napalm is quite a controversial image and price is held down I think because many people think it to be too contentious to have on the wall in a domestic environment. Despite that, I think it is up there with Banksy's most memorable and best conceived images and ought to be recognised more than it is. For me his strongest image.....but probably also least wall friendly!

Pink Donuts Banksy, by bdr79 on Nov 20, 2020 2:07:20 GMT 1, I remember being in Westbank Gallery in Nottinghill 5 years ag, Tommy and Paul offering me the strawberry for £9k Needless to say i passed it up! Hindsight Banksy purchases eh? GLWS. Lovely piece. Loved those guys - what’s happened to them? Incidentally, I bought that Donut. They moved from Nottinghill to Kensington, and still there. Tommy left I think, don't know where he's at now.
They were both still at the new place last time I was down. Pauls still there.
I mind the day they offered me that one, they offered to buy an oil painting I was picking up from them for about £20k.....looking back I can't work out why i didn't offer to swap it for the banksy!

What Music are you listening to at the moment ?, by bdr79 on Sept 5, 2020 0:35:22 GMT 1, Not sure how much love there is for Paolo or MGMT.....but this is a fantastic cover. Better than the original (Y) This is great, hadn’t seen it before. He hasn’t released anything for so long. What’s happened to him I wonder? Lives back in his home town. You see him out and about (pre corona). Musically, not much it seems for a lot of years!
Shame, great voice and song writer. Wrote the below as a teenager I believe.

What Music are you listening to at the moment ?, by bdr79 on Sept 4, 2020 23:59:05 GMT 1, Working a lot of hours at the minute and find as the day stretches into evening and on into the night/morning....the 60's is going on around 11pm through till about 2am
The 60's is so chilled to work along to when you're tired...or starting to feel the drag

Banksy • Soup Cans Poster, by bdr79 on Aug 25, 2020 23:34:54 GMT 1, Whilst everyone is talking about poster texture.....are the Palestine Posters....very 'papery' for want of a better word.
There's no shine...sorry I don't know the words really to describe it.
Almost, if a poster was varnished to give it the shine, the Palestine would be unvarnished?
Does that make sense?
