mrizzle’s Wallet Friendly Sales Thread, by mrizzle on Apr 13, 2024 17:35:25 GMT 1, Going to add one or two further items. Gone back and forth on this one for quite some time but I’ve put another piece in the space I’d mentally reserved for it when I purchased it and I just cannot see it making the wall. This has been stored flat in an archival (acid free) folder since purchase (and allowed to relax). It will be rolled and sent in original tube with corresponding COA. PEZ (Pierre-Yves Riveau) - ‘Double Trouble’ 23 Colour Screen Print On 300 Gsm Somerset Paper Sign & Dated By The Artist 94 x 66 cm deckled edged Edition of 195 Price - £625 (plus postage, packaging and any associated fees) telepathy smileysGreat price on this for someone - remember it being around £800 plus shipping when Graffiti Prints last had it in the vault. GLWS. Many thanks. I do try my best not to be unreasonable with pricing.
This is now provisionally sold.

Brett Kern 🇺🇸 Ceramic Dinosaur • Ceramic Sculpture, by mrizzle on Mar 17, 2024 15:23:03 GMT 1, First time I’ve actually managed to land one on a general release drop! My plan is to get another couple of Icthys and create a homage to those kitsch flying duck trio that used to adorn walls (before my time). Very Hilda Ogden (before my time,I had to google 😉) Ha! I had to Google her too on the back of your comment but that’s exactly the vibe!

Brett Kern 🇺🇸 Ceramic Dinosaur • Ceramic Sculpture, by mrizzle on Nov 9, 2023 17:29:47 GMT 1, Small Brontosaurus SOLD. Small Green Carnotaurus, 2016 available. After several years of searching, I am delighted to be able to add this wonderful OG dino to my collection.
Thank you kristakis for a wonderfully smooth, pleasant and easy transaction. Buy with absolute confidence. The carno that’s still available is lovely and I’d have snapped it up myself if I didn’t already have one.

Stewart Swan, by mrizzle on Jul 19, 2023 22:10:17 GMT 1, I first became aware of him through Nick Smith sharing his work some time back. He recently picked up an original piece by him if I recall correctly. mcgill14 had a piece of his at last year’s (I think it was last year’) charity auction too. I had intended to bid on it but missed the lot.

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by mrizzle on Jul 11, 2023 13:10:11 GMT 1, Selling cheap tote bags and earrings of traffic cones is not a very Banksy thing to do - yet here we are !!!! I think the traffic cone earrings is entirely a GoMA enterprise rather than a Banksy one.

Now…surely YOU are going to frame the posters? If so then please share the frame up!!

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by mrizzle on Jul 8, 2023 16:57:16 GMT 1,
Just on the train now and headed home but I cannot speak highly enough about this exhibition. It’s genuinely incredible; thought provoking, insightful, (at points) interactive, superbly well imagined and put together and, at points, genuinely laugh out loud funny. I absolutely loved every bit of it!
If you’ve booked in to go (or are planning to) then you’re going have a great time.
Oh and some of the polaroids I asked for. In real life I have a face.
Banksy’s bedroom.
Exited through the gift shop.

Mister Frameman • Mr Frameman, by mrizzle on Jul 7, 2023 20:29:59 GMT 1, I am heading to the Banksy exhibition this weekend so will be in Glasgow Saturday and Sunday should anyone require a collection of pieces for framing....... Short notice so probably best to call me on 07958 752226 Cracking offer and had I been a bit more organised (and also hadn’t booked a train) then I’d have definitely taken you up on the offer as I’m also headed to the exhibition (tomorrow). Enjoy the show if I don’t see you!

Shipping Art • UK, USA, Asia, Europe, by mrizzle on Jun 29, 2023 12:35:11 GMT 1, I have used FL in the past both to send and receive artwork but have to say that I wasn’t particularly impressed with my most recent experience trying to arrange to collect and deliver a piece of artwork that I was purchasing. I contacted them for an initial quote (including packing services) for a domestic U.K. collection and delivery (albeit across the country) and was advised of the following costs (for information the value of the artwork was sub £1k for insurance purposes):
Packing the artwork in a foam lined plywood crate Collection and packing: £170 Shipping: £85 +VAT Insurance: £25 Based off an estimate packing size of 123 x 20 x 78cm.
I subsequently asked for an updated quote without use of their packing service (having explored other options with the seller to use a reputable framing company who is very experienced in packing and shipping framed artwork both domestically and internationally). They advised that the couriering would take place through DHL and questioned the packing methods which is fair to an extent but I offered assurances and to provide photos of all stages of the process etc. I never did then receive an updated shipping quote and, instead, have arranged collection and shipping through Fragilistics (who I have used often through MFM). Total cost £114 but worth noting that you cannot insure through them so you’d need to independent arrange shipping insurance. Might have been a one off but my slight bug bear is that they sub contract to other couriers who you could use independently far cheaper. For international deliveries I’d probably still be included to use them but I’m less convinced I would use them domestically unless it’s a high value artwork.

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by mrizzle on Jun 16, 2023 17:35:04 GMT 1, Any suggestions of what to see in Glasgow until Sunday? First time there so no clue. www.wheregoesrose.com/glasgow-street-art-guide/
peoplemakeglasgow.com/see-do/tours-trails/city-centre-mural-trail
Probably a bit of repetition across this but a helpful starting place for some of the better street art pieces.
There is a whole load of things to do in Glasgow and, I’m pretty much every way, a better place for eating, drinking and shopping than Edinburgh - just a far less attractive city centre for the most part.
Also, Glasgow has a really vibrant music scene and you will normally encounter some pretty talented buskers around the city centre.

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by mrizzle on Jun 16, 2023 16:58:35 GMT 1, For the record tickets are NOT refundable even though the website says they are. I got a refund no problem when I bought some more for an early slot and had the later ones refunded. Really? SeeTickets just absolutely shut down my request when I realised I may now not be able to make the date I’d booked.

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by mrizzle on Jun 16, 2023 16:57:34 GMT 1, Anyone coming to Glasgow for a couple of days or more, may enjoy a visit to Kelvingrove museum. It has a lot of contemporary art as well as classical. I loved some of the local contemporary pieces and a brilliant Dali. Well worth a look. There is also a lot of street art. We took ovo bikes along the river and found a long stretch of graffiti on route 75 I think it was. Glasgow has a fantastic street art scene and plenty of wonderful pieces across the city. Smug has a number of incredible (and several very large) pieces that are well worth visiting and all within the city centre.
