After they sold out of the stock they had the listing for the companions said "back ordered," prompting me to call and inquire. I wanted to know if I purchased one while it said "back ordered" if I would be guaranteed one when they got more. The helpful customer service employee said that they would be testicles, but wasn't able to give me specifics. As of the posting of this, MoMA no longer has the companions in their shop. Knowing the amount of speculation that has amassed regarding whether or not they are truly open or not, I took this as meaning that various places would be getting more shipments in.

THE CAGE OF THE BODY TO THE SOUL (New Sandra Chevrier print), by Flashback on Dec 22, 2016 9:40:34 GMT 1, Received my print this week and just wondered if anyone else found what look very fine scuff lines on the white of the paper that are actually hard to decide are in the actual paper, from the print process or from the packing but they are definitely there. I have a few running down just to the right of the main body of the print blow her hair, a few on the bottom immediately after the main print and a few around the 'feel it' caption. Hard to photograph but on close inspection are definitely there. If everybody else has pure white paper outside the print then they're definitely not meant to be there but it feels like it's a slightly 'dirty' white paper that has been used.

All marks you see are printed and not ink from handling the print. Please see photo attached of the one we have. All the marks are being part of the original work on canvas. You can also feel the canvas texture. If you are not satisfied with the print you can send it back and we will refund you.

When you go to the website and hover over the pics and it goes high res I can see the same 'grainy markings' that I have including the lines and the little bluish marks near the 'Feel It' caption. Feeling somewhat more at ease with it now!

We've been informed that there has been a delay on a few orders as our distributors did not receive the full amount of scarves to fulfil all of the orders. We're really sorry, but unfortunately yours was one of them. However, the good news is that your scarf is still on its way! We have been told that the rest of the scarves are being delivered to the distributors on the 20th December, so we will be working hard to mail out your order as soon as they arrive. Obviously this close to Christmas we cannot guarantee it will arrive before Christmas Day (although we hope it will). If you would like a full refund, we totally understand and will process that immediately. If not, your scarf should be shipped before the end of the day on Tuesday 20th and you will receive an 'order complete' email once it has been sent out. Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this - it's beyond our control, but we understand if you've been worried seeing other people's scarves arrive and wondering where yours is! Show everyone your latest Art Purchase?, by Flashback on Dec 19, 2016 20:02:23 GMT 1, I've told the framer to do nothing with the print untill further notice and that I would think about my next steps and keep him informed. Thanks everybody for all the input so far it's been really helpfull.. Thank you met for your reply. You are absolutely right on the Horfe issue and I will definitly look into that. If I remember correctly he did explicitly talk about full reversibilty at the time but I will definitly confront him about this framejob. It is by far the best piece I own and it should be framed accordingly. Would you say the inspection and, if necessary, restauration would be at his cost as well?I'm not usually someone to get mad easily in a conversation but the things the woman said baffled me and truly pissed me off. Hence why she told me to take it up with her husband. The fact that he offered to pay for a replacement right away tells me that he realized they dropped the ball on this. Now that I'm typing this I realize that getting a mint replacement is the only correct solution for me and I shouldn't care about what happens to my copy, that's his problem. I didn't mention this in my original post as it was long enough as it was but the print my friend (a relatively cheap Felipe Pantone) picked up was framed in a frame that was wider than intended (the framer was upfront about this and my friend got a 30% discount) and turned out to be slightly skewed when he further examined the piece at home. When we walked out we agreed that we were going to look for another framer. They're an older couple and you would think that would account for some experience, apparently not. Maybe they're getting to old for this work. It's a shame really as he's helped me out in the past (a nasty mold issue) and I've never had any complaints. But I guess it's like someone mentioned, you only find out about this sort of practise when something goes wrong and you have to open it up again.

If I remember correctly he did explicitly talk about full reversibilty at the time but I will definitly confront him about this framejob. It is by far the best piece I own and it should be framed accordingly. Would you say the inspection and, if necessary, restauration would be at his cost as well?I'm not usually someone to get mad easily in a conversation but the things the woman said baffled me and truly pissed me off. Hence why she told me to take it up with her husband. The fact that he offered to pay for a replacement right away tells me that he realized they dropped the ball on this. Now that I'm typing this I realize that getting a mint replacement is the only correct solution for me and I shouldn't care about what happens to my copy, that's his problem. I didn't mention this in my original post as it was long enough as it was but the print my friend (a relatively cheap Felipe Pantone) picked up was framed in a frame that was wider than intended (the framer was upfront about this and my friend got a 30% discount) and turned out to be slightly skewed when he further examined the piece at home. When we walked out we agreed that we were going to look for another framer. They're an older couple and you would think that would account for some experience, apparently not. Maybe they're getting to old for this work. It's a shame really as he's helped me out in the past (a nasty mold issue) and I've never had any complaints. But I guess it's like someone mentioned, you only find out about this sort of practise when something goes wrong and you have to open it up again. They've gave you reason to lose confidence in their work, so 100% they would have to take care of everything, if only to keep your business in the future if that frame job turned out to be perfect. |
