Thanks mate - delighted to have done it, congrats yourself! Pity we didn't cross paths..Turned out to be trickier than I expected but a fantastic experience overall
That dedication stressed me out completely cos I just assumed he had a generic "Well Done" scrawl lined up for us all and had no idea that we'd have to come up with something clever ourselves ;D...scribbled something down in a panic, will post pics when I get it! What about yourself? Good trip?
Congrats on finishing Stang; I'm sure if you were to change your mind in the next few weeks, they would change the dedication for you if you drop them an email...

Shipping prints from the UK to the US, by hlarmy on Mar 10, 2012 10:06:08 GMT 1, It depends on the value of the print, but as a general rule I would say use the post office if it's worth less than รยฃ500, otherwise use a courier (assuming you can get the buyer to pay the higher shipping cost).

Phlegm "Civilisation" New Print Available February, by hlarmy on Feb 29, 2012 20:30:47 GMT 1, I wasn't aware of the artist before this print release but after doing some research, I'm amazed at the quality of his street art. Up there with some of the best street art I've seen. Some further links for those who care below

I don't know about sketches, but I was buying his comics in 2007, so it's just strange to me that everyone now loves him all of a sudden. Don't get me wrong, I like his work. Just seems that there has been zero interest and now massive.
Could you not say the same about every successful artist ever lived

Shipping Art โข UK, USA, Asia, Europe, by hlarmy on Feb 23, 2012 23:52:40 GMT 1, Nice try Rob but not quite worth +1 on this occasion...!
It's a deep box canvas so with decent packaging it probably will be 15-20cm deep. It's not a high value item so seems a little odd to be spending so much on shipping it.
Thanks guys

I thought I would tap into the extensive knowledge of the forum members to see whether anyone knows the best way to send a large canvas (110x80x20cm) from the UK to the US. So far I've had quotes ranging from ยฃ120 to ยฃ180 for a courier, which is pretty high for the value of the piece (I would like to keep it stretched rather than removing it from the frame and sending it rolled).
Does anyone know whether I can just walk this into a post office or is it too big. Alternatively does anyone have any others suggestions for a more affordable option - insurance is not required.
Thanks in advance

Vermin Stateside, by hlarmy on Feb 14, 2012 9:13:47 GMT 1, Nice! It looks like Dale is stepping it up
I had the pleasure of meeting the artist on a recent trip to LA. A nice chap with clearly a huge amount of passion for art and ambition to push forward with his painting and his career.
If I were a betting man, it would be my guess that he will do very well, which unfortunately means that his work will be out of my budget in the not too distant futureโฆ

Black Kawsbob. Please Help!, by hlarmy on Jan 22, 2012 14:46:03 GMT 1, I would be very very surprised if any were sent in a tube; this is not a print that can be rolled. It's very delicate and shouldn't be touched and certainly not rolled. I hope it all gets sorted Brendan...

Hlarmy, you need to float mount them, its the best way,if its done right, its worth spending the extra money to get it framed right. Mine cost around ยฃ600 each
Ha, you're not the first to tell me that! Why does everyone say that they should be float mounted? What's the name of that particular print Dodo?

Damien Hirst Spot Prints, by hlarmy on Jan 19, 2012 21:18:35 GMT 1, I agree with Pistol, looks great. Is it float mounted dodo?
OC's prints are always floated and I just don't like them.
Volvic, are you suggesting that you should only float these as they need to breathe / move more than the average print? Personally I wasn't going to float as everytime I go into OC, I love the art but am disappointed by the framing...
