New Ernest Z print incoming..., by sgolby on Nov 30, 2014 10:31:23 GMT 1, Lroy thank you for the response. I vey much like reading other peolle's feelings on both the art and artists whom i like. While i agree with you that street art shokd have an edge and be rebellious, i feel like with all rebelious movements, the goal should be to affect change. If the goal is simply to disrupt for the sake of disruption i can not align myself with the movement. Hemce i feel as though the beautification of cities using street art is a valid turn for the street art movement to make. Further, commisioned walls unlike commisioned artworks to me are more valuable because they serve to enhance the lives of e masses rather than ine collector.
as for zach specifically, i feel his art does have a central theme. It is precisely the children or rather the playful spirit of the child that is his message. With this piece specifically for me here is a meesage. I went to public school in the eighties in nyc. Just as arts amd music were beingg ripped from the curriculums of schools across the us. Taking art from children is in effect removing ine of those happy acts of a child. It is the removal or supression of their creative in order to train them to be workers and followers of the system. This piece to me serves to bridge this gap. The use of a famous old world artist, with the addition of a new "lowbrow" street artist's character illustrates the importance of arts in childrens lives. The art in this piece is quite literally the playhround of the protagonist children. A visual representation of art as the engine for childrens spirits.
This is my take my friend and why i love the piece...

New Ernest Z print incoming..., by Lroy on Nov 30, 2014 10:55:35 GMT 1, I undertand Sgolby. It is funny but in street-art, even with banksy we always the same kind of theme ( For this wall form Zacharevic , I forgot that it was in NY, so don't act ) : Retro/Gangster/vintage movies ( cops ? Why do they look all from the 50, 60 as in the Untouchables ?! Brainwash, Icy et Sot, etc, etc... ) ; Kids ( as we talked ) with balloons, hearts or not ; War or soldiers ( Gorillaz/Hewlett ? ) ; geishas ( the street-art that I never liked even if sometimes the artwork is great, they are just nice pictures... ) or pretty women, Revolution ( some are great and funny ) , animals or pets, not a lot of sex anyway ( ant that's good 2 many TV or adverts with bimbos ) . It is why I like the message and the support ( the matter of a print or of a wall ) , the spot and the location, and almost all, a certain self-mockery with an own artwork, and, of course, what made great artists, THE Detachment.

New Ernest Z print incoming..., by microfluo on Dec 26, 2014 18:53:39 GMT 1, Hi guys, today i've been to the framer with some prints that i've recently acquired. I had thought to have the EZ's print floating in a white box but i couldn't decide my mind about coloured spacers used in the composition, or black one or simply plain white. So i leave the print there and decide to get back tomorrow with my wife to help me making a choice. Maybe some of you have framed the print yet and could share some pictures here to have other ideas. Regards

New Ernest Z print incoming..., by Matt-lock on Dec 27, 2014 0:11:08 GMT 1, My thoughts are to leave it either all white or fixate on one of the 3 primary colors for the spacer. Personally would stay away from black to keep it "cleaner" but I tend to say white for everything...
