Banksy NYC Auction - Forum Auctions, by aravan on Nov 17, 2017 18:24:32 GMT 1, Looks like a very good offering will be heading to New York this December. I think this has just gone online? A nice bit of window shopping for a Friday afternoon.

Two Balloon Girls and a Pink-Yellow Nola. I also love that they closed it with Sale Ends...

Banksy NYC Auction - Forum Auctions, by Dexter Bulldog on Nov 17, 2017 23:54:39 GMT 1, have there been any recent Choose Your Weapon sales? $52-67 actually seems high for a dark orange right ? But did I miss something on these? Didn't these sell for 30k gbp($39-40) a few weeks ago?
if anything estimates are usually low, this seems unreachable but happy to be educated

It's definitely not one of the more favourable colourways. It's only an estimate, we will see if it makes reserve or not.

Banksy NYC Auction - Forum Auctions, by Pattycakes on Nov 19, 2017 17:57:45 GMT 1, technically the only original in the auction, so it will be interesting to see how it does. although i would have expected the lower estimate to be $25K to bring in the punters... I've been reliably informed that most, if not all, of what Forum auctions off is allegedly stock actually owned by themselves... Considering I know at least 6 owners of lots in their sale I can say pretty accurately that you're wrong on that account.

Banksy NYC Auction - Forum Auctions, by Deleted on Dec 6, 2017 10:41:46 GMT 1, the estimates on these prints are way off IMO....too high to attract strong interest on most lots...again in IMHO...my guess is that quite a few of these will hit bottom reserve or worse...pass

Banksy NYC Auction - Forum Auctions, by Pattycakes on Dec 6, 2017 13:01:35 GMT 1, Like I've said before placement is the key to winning at auction.
Think about it where would you rather sell your Banksy? In a sale dedicated to the artist, which will have all the houses advertising spend dedicated toward promoting one artist and therefore attracting all the Banksy collectors and people looking for his work.
Or in a multi artist sale, where they are amongst 100+ other things, more often than not which have nothing to do with Banksy, that they auction house is also desperate to promote and sell?
I'm not saying the Bonham's sale is bad, far from it there is some cracking things in that sale, but I'd always favour a theme sale to a general one.
breezied is correct, Forum have had some stellar Banksy results over the past year - that is for a reason, they actively promote themselves as the go to auction house for Banksy editions, and for collectors who are not on the forums and so forth they look to who has the name for selling a particular artist, it's a clever strategy, and clearly it works. Sotheby's London do the same with Warhol prints, and have done for the past 15 years, their results are considerably better than others for Warhol for this reason (compare Sotheby's London Warhol print results with Christie's London print results - it makes for very interesting reading)

Banksy NYC Auction - Forum Auctions, by artforartssake on Dec 7, 2017 19:48:16 GMT 1, Fascinating condition reports. Considering the number of people still claiming to have 'mint' prints (especially when selling), everything in the sale has at least some kind of blemish!
