Well amazing as they pick it up for you then hand it to dhl unless you use their packing service which is worth it i guess.
Apart from that parcel2go does the same thing from your front door.

Flight Logistics โข Art Shipping, by kaimac on Sept 8, 2018 2:13:31 GMT 1, Thanks both.
Will they verify a print's condition before sending it? I.e. If I buy from a UK gallery and use them to ship it to me, can I be confident that the print (that I haven't seen) is going into the FL packaging in mint condition?
Am trying to work out what would happen if a print arrived and had damage. Would FL be liable?
Thanks both.

Iโve used FL from UK to USA and had top shelf experiences with their services. Having said that, you should get it in writing (within the contact between the parties) that from the minute that they take possession of the print - until the moment it is delivered to you - that their insurance policy will cover the print for any and all damages - which assumes that you will declare the print for its full monetary value although be prepared to deal with taxes at customs

Flight Logistics โข Art Shipping, by Deleted on Sept 8, 2018 3:24:40 GMT 1, Different experience on my end with FL. Iโve used them 3 times and all 3 times they, not the secondary carrier, have damaged my works during packing or storage. They were nothing short of nightmarish to deal with and would not honor their own insurance even after admitting fault. I would personally never use or recommend them for anything other than building a crate and would not let them collext, pack, or touch a piece of my artwork ever again.
Again, I know many swear by them but Iโve never been satisfied with their service. Many better professional options out there imo even if they are more expensive.

Flight Logistics โข Art Shipping, by loother on Sept 8, 2018 7:57:45 GMT 1, I recently used them to send a print to the US. They were quick to respond to emails and reasonably priced, and I was extremely happy with their service, which is just as well since there aren't many other options for sending prints fully insured.
It would have been too expensive to send the print flat, so in the end I packed it flat in a plywood sandwich and also provided an empty tube, and they checked it, rolled it, packed it in the tube and delivered it, and all was good.

Flight Logistics โข Art Shipping, by shy on Sept 8, 2018 17:53:49 GMT 1, I have had many parcels shipped with FL and never a problem... unlike Fedex which has been hit and miss.
I would definitely recommend CRATING anything shipped overseas. The parcels drop off conveyor belts etc...

Flight Logistics โข Art Shipping, by turntored on Jan 7, 2022 10:31:13 GMT 1, I used to use FL but the cost is getting out of hand and at the end of the day all they are doing is arranging another courier to pick up and deliver. You don't really know who is handling your precious cargo until the van appears outside to pick it up.
That said, I've never had any real issues with FL.
I've used Parcelforce last couple of times and it's been fine and also Fragilistics for a framed piece.

Flight Logistics โข Art Shipping, by HRE on Jan 7, 2022 10:41:00 GMT 1, I have used FL for a lot of things last year but the majority of my sends go through www.parcel2go.com
They have all the same couriers that FL use. If you pack well you will not have any issues. I would also always recommend doing priority shipping on the courier you use. When you use this service they take extra care and of course usually next day delivery.

Flight Logistics โข Art Shipping, by Hugos There on Jan 7, 2022 10:58:24 GMT 1, At the end of the day it depends on the value, size and your ability to bomb proof the packaging of the piece in question.
Due to the way massive quantities are handled I'd use parcelforce as a last resort.
If you can package well then UPS, DHL and others are all good and I usually book them via Interparcel.com
If you want a fantastic personal service at reasonable rates aardvarkartservices.com are brilliant although you may have to wait a week or two while their drivers get around to your area.
Don't forget that however well you package your art and however much you pay for cover there is small print with the big couriers which will say that art and in particular glass are not covered so you will find it extremely hard to get your money back in the event that you need to make a claim.

Flight Logistics โข Art Shipping, by John The Badgers on Jan 7, 2022 11:14:03 GMT 1, Always used Fragilistics Dubman, and would certainly recommend - great outfit.
Great service, very reasonable, and nice to deal with.
PM me if you want a contact there.
Mister Frame Man also uses them, so thinking they are in that area a lot (Norwich), so would imagine very straight forward for them?
Good luck with sorting.

Flight Logistics โข Art Shipping, by Poster Bob on Jan 7, 2022 11:14:28 GMT 1, I have had a persistent recent issue with Flight Logistics where every time I ask them for a quote they first quote me for a dedicated driver at an insane price. I then have to ask for a cheaper option, which they always provide. This may be the case with your quote.

Flight Logistics โข Art Shipping, by irl1 on Jan 7, 2022 11:44:12 GMT 1, I have never used Flight Logistics because they quote me such ridiculous prices. Often twice or three times what other couriers charge. At the end of the day, I feel it's your packaging that matters more than what courier service you are using. Most of the time the problem is when the customs open the parcel to check it, they never seem to repack it the same way.
I shipped a parcel to the states with two sheets of plywood on each side, the parcel arrived with only the bubble wrap on smashed to pieces.
