Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by gilsteph on May 29, 2008 23:47:40 GMT 1, The decks were great but only edition of 5 so sold out really quickly!
Copyright was talking about doing something similar so there may be more on the way.
re HUSH my pictures dont do them justice. There is a lot going on in all of them. Worth seeing in the flesh. Although Im sure Romany will post some better pictures at some point!

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by felix on May 29, 2008 23:49:59 GMT 1, For me those Hush are utter tripe, a step backward compared to his previous work...
The Copyright stuff looks lovely though, beautiful colours and great tits on Kate...
But then again you can't flip Copyright, so I see why no one is talking about him

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by jusdeep on May 29, 2008 23:50:27 GMT 1, Just gotten back from the show after numbing the whole experience with a few bevies. Really couldn't be arsed with reading through all the posts (so apologies if I have repeated something), but just wanted to give my opinion on the show. Hush's originals were top drawer, can't be faulted. Copyright (as others have said), has moved on leaps and bounds and this kind of exposure I'm sure will be a very welcome consequence. I wish the same could be said for the galleries organisational skills, but hey, in hindsight I hope they would have done things differently. Anyway, to cut a very long and tiresome story short (which will only be repeating much of what has been said previously), ended up one of the first in the queue to find out they had been giving away tickets to people earlier and now I didn't stand a hope in hell of leaving with anything. Ended up giving a 'non-refundable' ยฃ150 deposit on a ยฃ300 print, which will hopefully be worth it's salt when I get it several months down the line. All said Hush's and Copyrights work was great (well worth a visit). Hush is a thoroughly nice guy, who seems very shell-shocked with all the exposure, but is taking it I his stride. I just hope in future the gallery steps up it's game (galleries in general maybe from recent experience).

so just to be clear - this whole "if you don't get a Hush print this time you'll be put on a special list for the next one" line came with the caveat of laying down 150 quid today for a print you can't even see yet? (because it doesn't exist) - fuck me, this goes from very bad to very worse...talk about taking the piss...

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by artstylee on May 30, 2008 0:15:12 GMT 1, Do printing houses actually give out number 50/50 or 1/50?? I don't think so.
I believe it's an inside job, (friend/employee/close associate) and that's how they got it on so quick. And with an attractive number. 2nd Best to 1/50 if you ask me. First or Last are always special.
Can't blame them for trying to feel out the going rate on this print though.

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by ruat caelum on May 30, 2008 2:03:32 GMT 1, I would like to know if it was Hush or Opus who had 4 accounts......... Silky please tell. And then do something about it. But as they say what goes around comes around. All I know is that 4 accounts were found all with the same IP address. Those were Hush, Mainartery, Ollys and UAC. This does NOT mean they are the same person.Accusations being made about Opus are totally unfounded as far as I can see. This is the only information I have, and has only been released due to peoples concerns, and is totally inline with the agreements that all members sign up to when they join any proboards forum.
That's not completely true, is it Silky? You also know the email addresses registered to those four accounts.
If you are defending Hush by implying he did not try to deceive forum members and that the four accounts with the same IP address correspond to four different people, then they should be registered to four different email addresses. Sounds logical?
Although he could have got in trouble for it, a mate of mine at ProBoards looked into these four usernames as a favour to me. What he found was that they were registered to fewer than four email addresses. A rather curious discovery.
Can you confirm this is correct?

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by moleman on May 30, 2008 7:14:19 GMT 1, listen this ebay lark is mostly in part to opus. And if they have the cheek to follow people up they are complete hypocrites. If you wait all day after a long journey or even one across town to get something you have been told is there for the last few weeks and to be faced with that crap. Which causes you to not get your 2nd 3rd or any choice of print because the gallery messed up go for it sell it its not what you wanted but you got some salvation from a piss poor waste of a day. This wont go down well with most but you need to climb off that pedistal and look from other points of veiw there were alot of unhappy people who were lied to and they were saying f+ck opus. Im sure they will buy from opus again some will have no choice but so in the end they will win but look no replys from them yet where is it and i tell you one thing a big we are sorry is a complete waste of breath they should and probably do know better. Where is the video to same old thing street shot unhappy people walking in pics of pic. If people did it properly and released pics on line like a little dreweatts cat before the start you would not need those people. Who i heard get what they want get there friends in (who get what they want) and go around smiling like a chesire cat while all around is blowing up. F#ck it i have a camera and tripod ill do it to off to work now very tired and still very pissed off

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by aj on May 30, 2008 8:20:47 GMT 1, This makes me laugh! when matey at the front of the queue was told "sold out" he chucked all his toys out the pram and then went down the queue telling everyone we were wasting our time, then he left. No one else left, we all waited to see the art and i got what i wanted in a print, which was a nice touch on top of seeing some great art! Seems the best way to do things from the gallery point of view is to sell all prints online! but people will still miss out. WIN SOME LOSE SOME. thats life im afraid get over it and enjoy the art which is available for all to see.

Pictures you've got now S, but before we can talk about the art the following needs to happen:
1) Someone makes a 'claim' or 'accusation' that could be deemed as slander. But that no-one else can pin-point when reading back through posts. 2) Questions are asked and answered with about as much directness as a Jeremy Paxman can hope to get from Michael Howard. 3) Administrators/gallery/artist get defensive about gripes and accusations....but still no answers. 4) Two more pages are spent going over the specific wording of questions and punctuation of sentences. 5) The thread is locked and moved. 6) Another thread is started about why it has been locked and moved, and subsequently gets moved. 7) Another thread is started with minimal input as members are fed up with issues not being addressed but rather swept under the carpet. 8) Comments referring to initial issues and threads are now more occasional and people sit back and wait for the next big hoo-haa...so that issues still floating over this can be bought up again.

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by manchestermike on May 30, 2008 8:57:28 GMT 1, Just gotten back from the show after numbing the whole experience with a few bevies. I do agree on that... it's a bit off having to put a deposit down for something that quite possibly hasn't even been created yet. Well, to be honest there isn't anything wrong with putting the deposit down, it's the 'non-refundable' bit that is an absolute disgrace...
So if you don't like the print you still have to buy it or you lose your cash? Utter bollocks

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by G-Man on May 30, 2008 9:00:00 GMT 1, Well it was a first preview show for me, and i went for copyright anyway. (the hush stuff was nice but can't see why all the fuss over the prints) anyway queued for about 45 mins and was about 10 from the door when some bloke started shouting about all the prints being sold out "every single f**king one" then called them all c**ts and, pissed off. I waited anyway had a look around copyright stuff was great and really well priced. picked up the last queen of hearts gold which is f**king amazing. and there was still quite a few pink queens left and this was at 9.30 and i was last in the queue. so won't be supprised if there are a few online in the next couple of days. Not to bothered about hush but i do hope copyright isn't tarnished with the same brush.
Sorry about that! Oops

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by mammal2 on May 30, 2008 9:53:18 GMT 1, so just to be clear - this whole "if you don't get a Hush print this time you'll be put on a special list for the next one" line came with the caveat of laying down 150 quid today for a print you can't even see yet? (because it doesn't exist) - f uck me, this goes from very bad to very worse...talk about taking the p iss...
What MM said. Maybe gossip has become gospel, but if this is indeed true then it is a disgrace!

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by stradled on May 30, 2008 10:04:27 GMT 1, I went down from Glasgow and queued from the morning, got given my ticket and that allowed me to go away for the day and see things within London - Cans, Tate etc.
I was so happy that Opus did this as it was something I didnt thing I was going to be able to do, I thought I was going to be there for the long haul.
Once we came back later on in the day, a few guys in front of us gave us the bad news that even though we were at the preview night, we were unaware that the night before there was a nother preview night.
So when the gallery opened at 6:30 yesterday - even though I was within the first 10 people this is what was already sold out:
All Hush originals - bar 1 at ยฃ4500. All Copright Skatedecks. All T+TII A/P's. 13/15 T+TII from the Edition - first couple of guys took these. 20 Red Geishas were left.
This meant that after the first 9 people queueing had been in and bought prints it was just the Blue ones left, and not even the full whack of them.
Considering the amount of people there that were queueing I thought their was going to be a riot, I ended up talking to a guy who was just in the door and like most people who were soaking due to wanting one of the 70 prints and 20 odd oringals, on entering it was a completly different story and most people were not happy!

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by insite on May 30, 2008 10:09:15 GMT 1, yikes. i dont know what is worse though the story posted here and its juxtaposition to spew of hype flooded on this board from Opus underground or the fact that a work from Hush was priced at 4.5K GBP FFS you can get artists whose work is both hung in the Tate and painted on the Tate for that much.
Good point.
