THE FAMOUS ยฃ80 CANVASES FROM BLEEDINGEDGES, by robinbanks on Jun 20, 2008 8:35:46 GMT 1, Sorry to quote myself there. whatever floats your boat, but if you think hacking into someones space and making money off the proceeds when they have done nothing wrong...well then karma my son is going to bite you in the arse one day
And just when I thought you couldn't possibly be any dumber...
Please explain to me how that is any different to buying a print for Y one day and selling it on ebay for 10xY the next?
If anyone on this board is going to get a nasty visit from Karma it's you, JBitch!

If you actually learned to read properly you would understand that I wasn't actually disagreeing with you, merely pointing out what a sackless t**t you are.

THE FAMOUS ยฃ80 CANVASES FROM BLEEDINGEDGES, by buffin on Jun 20, 2008 9:03:17 GMT 1, Interesting reading BE. Sure you are right about many things including some of the greed and double standards. If you can translate all that passion and anger into your art I'm sure it'll be worth seeing.

THE FAMOUS ยฃ80 CANVASES FROM BLEEDINGEDGES, by instinct on Jun 20, 2008 10:08:02 GMT 1, I have to say BE has captivated me since he started this whole thing. His rants/insights whatever you want to call them have been challenging to me in a way that I dont often find on here... they make me think about my position as a collector... in fact they have even made me look at some of the art I own and think do i still like that... do I like it for the wrong reasons? In any case I have not read all of BEs posts but from what I can see he has not insulted anyone (which has of late become very common) just challenged opinions. As for the canvas I would not hang it but I do like the message... I like the banality of it. As for his cyber vandalism... he has somewhat broke the mould there??? Oh and by the way please don't slag me im just stating my ideas.

I think "Cyber Begging" for money on here to buy materials and slagging people off in the same breath is quite insulting. True BE is an intelligent guy from what I've read, but this is not translated in the canvases. Stop blowing smoke up the guys arse FFS!

THE FAMOUS ยฃ80 CANVASES FROM BLEEDINGEDGES, by loucastel on Jun 20, 2008 11:38:08 GMT 1, Now that tbe has settled down a bit and got over his initial outbursts, a lot of what he says makes some kind of sense, I feel it's good to question motives and to unravel the inner meaning of things, trouble is ,look to deeply and it can be quite frightening, mostly when we question our own motives for what we do and what we buy as regards art, when now more than ever we are constantly being bombarded by, what seems like new artists turning up every day, who's motives I do question. While I dont agree with everything tbe has said, in a lot of cases he puts his point forward very well, with obviously a lot of thought.

I didn't say I didn't like him. I just think if you beg for money off people you should show them some amount of respect.
I wonder how people would've reacted to this canvas if it had been Cartrain's.
He would've been knocked into next year.

THE FAMOUS ยฃ80 CANVASES FROM BLEEDINGEDGES, by instinct on Jun 20, 2008 13:20:15 GMT 1, like him or not angel41 you did tell me what not to say... please don't do that!
beg/sell whatever... it seemed to me that he was asking for help to further his artistic ideas. i and many other people took an interest in this.
personally i considered giving the guy the money but decided against this because doing that would have implicated me in an act of vandalism... if i was to commit acts of vandalism i would do that on my own merit. however if i had given him the cash i would have been happy with what i got for my money... some new ideas about this whole thing and where i think its going! ideas which incidentally i was able to develop simply by observing/commenting on the process.
to conclude i think the guys ideas have merit... i thnik hes trying to unpick what this thing has become and encourage more people to be true to what it was? difficult and unlikely but in my view something which should be investigated!

THE FAMOUS ยฃ80 CANVASES FROM BLEEDINGEDGES, by onemandown72 on Jun 20, 2008 13:51:25 GMT 1, BE - enjoying your posts again. Informed and thought provoking, as opposed to taking on bullying overtones to get your point across. You didn't need to do this as you have clearly demonstrated above. Whilst everything is kept calmer this forum is a far better place for you on here.

THE FAMOUS ยฃ80 CANVASES FROM BLEEDINGEDGES, by holden on Jun 20, 2008 14:50:37 GMT 1, All I know is TBE's posts beat the sh*t out of flipping, jaffa cakes and other such drivel I have read for the last few months. No I havent posted, No I havent added , No Ive had zero inclination to do so, Yes the problem lies with me......
A view, some insight and clearly a mission. Quite refreshing for a street art forum. First canvas is t*ss (maybe that was the point), the 2nd aint bad. The challenge however is a breath of fresh air

Fair enough instinct, sorry, didn't mean to dis you personally. I was just trying to get across the fact that the canvases are what they are and all the talk and hype over the last month or so (although enjoyable) doesn't seem to back it up. Some very valid points have been raised by TBE and other people throughout the thread so it's not all been worthless.

THE FAMOUS ยฃ80 CANVASES FROM BLEEDINGEDGES, by carbon on Jun 20, 2008 15:38:01 GMT 1, on the bleeding edge? hardly. week and derivative at best. If hes looking for an example of someone exploiting the forum based on self-hype vs poor artistic merit. then hes done a good job of producing the prime example.

THE FAMOUS ยฃ80 CANVASES FROM BLEEDINGEDGES, by dmandpenfold on Jun 20, 2008 16:02:50 GMT 1, I wonder how people would've reacted to this canvas if it had been Cartrain's. He would've been knocked into next year.
Cartrain's writings wouldn't have been nearly so elloquent, BE is able to defend his position / work very well and intellectually, whether we / you agree with him or not.
Nice to see how this thread moved from hating, to shouting and dissing and now to a 'virtual love in' with BE. Reading back through the previous pages the swing-ometer shows some interesting swings in the mass opinion of our fickle forum members, we have leaders and sheep aplenty.

That may be so, but the topic of this thread was the eighty quid canvases. And in my opinion, no matter how eloquently TBE expresses his views on the world, there's no getting away from the fact that they are poorly executed and the image is boring, not to mention cliched.
EDIT: And if that was always meant to be TBE's intention then I really don't get it.
AND when are we going to see the street pieces that will supposedly blow everything else out of the water?
