sold, by artylang on Jan 31, 2011 20:20:04 GMT 1, See, id say you're the one with growing up to do. Ive never done anything shady. Ive been a contributing member to this community on the boards and off since 2004. With not one sale that's gone bad or one person unsatisfied. Frankly, I dont need to hear you run your mouth. Mind your own business if you're not interested.
And hey, maybe you want to grab a beer. Not too many real life art friends on my end. Im a swell date.

Do not slander me, that is illegal and insulting. Selling art, is not.

sold, by artylang on Jan 31, 2011 15:01:00 GMT 1, I never realized sour grapes was a hobby
as I have said on the Faile forum
it's cool. I get it. I know your side of the coin(although I tend not to whine publicly). I do however think what i have here now is a fair price. I'm not wealthy by any means. I probably cant afford the art I own. I sell (flip) art, in order to buy art. The collection I have on my wall takes priority, and this will balance out a hopeful new purchase. I know it's not the classiest move, but I love art and this is how I can expand my collection.

sold, by artylang on Jan 31, 2011 14:29:04 GMT 1, Not sure why you would think the other seller was my "mate" or why you think I am friends with Faile? Anyone can write an email, no?
Huge 35x44inces, silkscreen, acrylic and pencil, on Keyfoods ad. This is unique. Ive been presented with an opportunity to buy something Id really like to add. So price is cheap, $3000usd shipped within the USA, and $3075 shipped worldwide. Please pm if interested. Thanks couple of questionsi have with your piece/sale 1. the signature is a big issue, why does your piece look vastly different to the one your mate had/has for sale on the faile forum. faileforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=faileebaychat&action=display&thread=16562. also given your connections with the failes, why dont you get them to authenticate it?

Beejoir LV Child Canvas (Green) Price Check, by artylang on Jan 30, 2011 23:17:06 GMT 1, I wonder what price they would get today. These prices of 4-5kgbp seem on par with peak prices.

sold, by artylang on Jan 30, 2011 20:20:32 GMT 1, if you look closely at the photos from the denver show the sig looks similar to the top mirror mirror. It certainly doesnt have that big sweeping "F" we are used to. I have documentation re: the history of the series of prints from faile. I dont think there is any question as to it's authenticity with experienced Faile collectors.

Silky to be the new Banksy?, by artylang on Jan 25, 2011 18:27:46 GMT 1, No, I think people who make art are great. I should have edited down what I selected to quote from you. I think it is naive to believe this just happened to pop up. I have a hard time believing art-el or whoever, did this by surprise.
Just strikes me as odd. You know? Guy deliberately makes the forum more difficult to navigate to increase traffic and revenue. Just doesn't leave a good taste in my mouth. Add to that all the other grievances mentioned by others above. But hey, buy what you like. I Love most of the community and have made some great friends through it.
No i dont think so, and i dont think i'm naive at all. It is my opinion that if more people practiced art (in all its forms, not just this genre, and not just painting), then the world would be a happier place... Am i naive to think such a thing? I think not, i think its proven that people with antisocial behaviour problems react well to art classes, dance classes, and singing classes. Its been proven that taking kids from problem areas and putting them through classes where they learn to express themselves properly, rather than through violence, has a dramatic impact on their lives. Aside from this, i truly believe that art is for the masses. If you have an idea you should try to run with it. There is nothing better than seeing an idea of your own come to life, be it on paper, canvas, the street, or by song, music, dance, writing etc. Not everyone CAN be an artist, but that doesn't mean you shouldnt TRY. Again, all my own opinion, if you disagree thats yours, so fair play. ;D Good point, but seems a bit naive, no?

Silky to be the new Banksy?, by artylang on Jan 25, 2011 15:39:15 GMT 1, Good point, but seems a bit naive, no?
just sticking up for dan here, he didnt start this thread, and he hasn't posted anywhere that he's gonna be making art, he's just rolled with whats been posted. Anyone who enjoys art and feels they have something to say or to paint should be allowed to freely express themselves. Anyone who feels the need to insult, rip, or diss someone because they want to try and express themselves through art is a moron, and not worth the time of day in my humble opinion. If more people expressed themselves through art in its many guises the world would be a happier place. I look forward to seeing what is produced, good luck to you Dan.

congrats to Banksy though. Definitely cool

shepard fairey pricing???, by artylang on Jan 24, 2011 19:20:11 GMT 1, ... That is why there is such a large margin in the secondary market pricing from print to print. Suckers and college kids buy the cheap stuff and collectors push up the prices of the stuff that people actually want and may be culturally significant down the line. so the few rich out there are the culturally significance?
I hope english is not your first language. Re-read my statement. You are completely taking what I said out of context. But you are right to a certain extent. People with more money are usually able to buy things that are more expensive. Things that are deemed more desirable are usually more expensive. Not trying to disparage anyone. Just being a realist.

shepard fairey pricing???, by artylang on Jan 24, 2011 18:15:51 GMT 1, image desirability. When you have such a small amount of editing going on and release every single thing there is bound to be a great discrepancy between what is considered "good" and what is considered "poor".
One of the early and best lessons I learned when I began collecting was buying something just to have a piece by a particular artist is, sorry to be crass, stupid. Smart collectors, or collectors that go out and research what they buy wont even consider sub-par imagery.
