Sale over. , by Hubble Bubble on Sept 16, 2016 14:20:47 GMT 1, Will Someone explain the "likely is ineligible" to a new collector please? It won't get a COA (Certificate of Authentication) from Pest Control. Never buy a Banksy without a COA from PC (unless you're comfortable doing so - see later note) and always check the veracity of the COA with PC before you buy. Gift prints were prints outside the normal editions and gifted by the artist to folk for various reasons. Most don't and will never get a COA which makes it extremely difficult to sell on except to others who know the market and can check the provenance of the piece and are then happy to take on a non COA print.

For Sale@ Cost: Shane Turner "PSYCHAMELEON TRANSCENDANCE" - Ed 15, by Hubble Bubble on Sept 15, 2016 19:44:29 GMT 1, Remember liking this at the time too WORD OF WARNING Pupster When I click on the photo of the piece I'm taken to your photo bucket account and, with a couple more clicks I can see your entire collection. Daniel Silk -- this surely shouldn't happen? Is it a setting in photo bucket? Or on the site? -- HB FURTHER EDIT -- I've done the same thing with a few members' other pics and it drills through to their entire collections. Can we know how to stop this? Yes, you can set up an open album for pieces for sale, and make your main album private. Otherwise what you describe is exactly what will happen. Thanks Coach...

David Hockney 🏴 Painting • Show News • Art For , by Hubble Bubble on Sept 14, 2016 10:10:03 GMT 1, A very tough decision but for the size I just like the simplicity. I agree. Spent the last 48 hours deliberating over which of the four to buy, but on balance I think the lilac one (A) is the best balance of colour, form and a good example of the various techniques/drawing styles Hockney uses on his iPad stuff. Always really wanted one of the woodland/ tree prints but bit too pricey (more so now via secondary) so this these are just right image vs price wise for me.
This is what makes the art world turn... Our differences in the way we view art and what we perceive to be key elements of an artist's style.
I'm a B man myself so, to paraphrase Harry Hill...
"A or B? Which is best? There's only one way to decide! FIGHT!!!!!!"
Glad the forum is showing some Hockney love!

David Hockney 🏴 Painting • Show News • Art For , by Hubble Bubble on Sept 13, 2016 20:04:51 GMT 1, The Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield have three of Hockney's (much larger) ipad prints up in the gallery at the minute. They look stunning, I'm sure these new editions will be of similar high quality. Would love to pick up one of these..... but way out of my league at the minute.
How much Rufas? £20k?

David Hockney 🏴 Painting • Show News • Art For , by Hubble Bubble on Sept 13, 2016 12:27:06 GMT 1, Having given it some thought I think the lilac is the the one for me. Good man winter. I like the lilac but it seemed slightly 'unfinished'/abstract in the detail of the petals/flowers for my taste.
They're all good though.

David Hockney 🏴 Painting • Show News • Art For , by Hubble Bubble on Sept 12, 2016 20:49:33 GMT 1, I think it was priced that way to save Hockney's hand from turning into a mangled signing claw. These are some beautiful prints though.. He's a Yorkshireman... his hands are usually kept firmly in his pocket so they're in unusually good nick

David Hockney 🏴 Painting • Show News • Art For , by Hubble Bubble on Sept 12, 2016 20:47:54 GMT 1, An edition of 10,000!!!! Holy crap, that print run is as ridiculously oversized as the book. That's relatively large even for a conventional art book. While it's easy to admire something like that I think very few are going to want such a massive object to deal with and store and move etc. Now I do like Hockney's recent work (who doesn't I guess) but I cringe when I se these Taschen releases, they're kind of known for producing gawdy and usually overpriced tat. Although I really don't know what Hockney's prints sell for so maybe this is different? c.
apologies just re read. I see you were referring to the book run.
Yeah, that's quite a few I guess but I don't know so much about books. I see it as a £3.5k signed Hockney that I really like with a limited edition signed book thrown in
Bloody big book though.

It's not 10,000 prints. It's 10.000 books at £1750
The first 1,000 books come with a print (for an extra £1750). There are four prints so each print is limited to 250.
I'd say that even factoring print size and edition size, it's a favourable price compared to buying primary elsewhere. Current primary prices begin around $20,000 for larger prints with editions of around 25. I'd say it's a good way for folk to get an affordable, current, signed Hockney on their walls. And the images work well, I think. They represent his current output of nature scenes and contain Hockney's signature line work and colour.

Yes, to my mind it's a terrific piece. Not very urban, mind.

iPhone 7, by Hubble Bubble on Sept 9, 2016 10:05:23 GMT 1, Will next year definitely be the iPhone 8 with big updates? Don't we normally see an upgrade to a 7+ after one year and need to wait a full two years for a new model? Not sure I can survive another two years on my 5! Get a 6s. Much cheaper now.

I know f**kall about printing but isn't that odd with all that colour in it? Silver. The rest will be digital Thanks. And as a matter of interest... if everyone's prepared to buy a print that comes out of a printer, why not just digital print the silver? Is it a case of texture or something?
