Antony Gormley Stand Up for Ukraine 2022, by Hubble Bubble on Apr 20, 2022 11:13:05 GMT 1, Love the Gormley.
Have never really understood the attraction of the penguin/Miller/book cover thing but happy that others do as it’s a lot of dosh for a good cause.

Tracey Emin - Self Portrait Prints, Counter Editions, by Hubble Bubble on Apr 20, 2022 10:44:00 GMT 1, selling well two prints now £12k How can you claim they are selling well when, over 24 hours later, they are still readily available? I would call that selling really badly. The pieces I have tried to buy recently have sold out in less than ten seconds.
At the risk of being slightly pedantic. I think we are getting two different descriptors mixed up. ‘Sold out’ would indicate they sold well and are no longer available. ‘Selling well’ would indicate they are selling well. If the only indicator of something ‘selling well’ is that it is sold out then these are not selling well. If ‘selling well’ can be taken to involve selling 25 full sets of 10 prints each (this alone worth over £1.5 million exclusive of any taxes) plus the remaining release exceeding all targets after only three of the ten have been offered for sale then I think it can be reasonably described as ‘selling well’.
Just my 10 cents.

Tracey Emin - Self Portrait Prints, Counter Editions, by Hubble Bubble on Apr 19, 2022 22:28:53 GMT 1, Do you perceive they are selling slowly? Hard to say. The last self-portraits sold out quite quickly but were £3500 at launch excluding discount. £7.5k plus is a prohibitive amount of money for lots of people so I guess these inevitably will take longer to sell through.
Half the run of each print has been sold as part of a full set. With only these three releases today they have comfortably exceeded their targets for the entire run.

Tracey Emin - Self Portrait Prints, Counter Editions, by Hubble Bubble on Apr 19, 2022 19:25:52 GMT 1, I'm told it is was already CE's most successful print launch even prior to the prints going on open sale. In terms of 'worth' it's hard to put some kind of metric on that. It's a primary market, signed work by a blue chip, internationally renowned artist in a large format, low volume (ed of 50) from a world class print house. For collectors who love her work and feel Emin is currently undervalued (I'll nail my colours to the mast here - I do on both scores) and representative as it is of her recent brush with death, for me it represents an opportunity not to be missed. The works in the flesh are extremely dramatic and anyone going for one will, in my opinion, not be disappointed. Cheers and good luck to all going for one. HB So you think a signed print at 10K retail is "undervalued"? Wow! I know she is a blue chip artist but so is Damien Hirst. The last large print with an edition size of 50 by Damien Hirst sold at retail for around 6 or 7K, I seem to remember. I don't object to Tracey Emin's rather self-indulgent prints but I do think they are well overpriced.
And that is fine, mooncub. I have no issues with your interpretation of the market. My interpretation is different. Our different tastes snd appreciations are what makes the world turn.

But I guess there are people on an art forum who do not understand art, appreciate art or at least show some tolerance. To answer your question: Idiots like me.

Tracey Emin - Self Portrait Prints, Counter Editions, by Hubble Bubble on Apr 19, 2022 14:08:34 GMT 1, Thanks for the help. Will these sell at that price? I guess we'll see I'm sure they will sell out quick enough. But are they worth 7.5K? No, of course they are not. I'm told it is was already CE's most successful print launch even prior to the prints going on open sale.

Dave White Original Blue Tit, by Hubble Bubble on Apr 4, 2022 15:53:43 GMT 1, I have a DW original in my collection. His work rarely comes up as secondary. Most pieces stay on walls - as has yours. Terrific piece and - if you ask what you paid for it - would be well below the price of a commission. GLWTS. HB

Watch Collectors ⌚ Buy & Sell, by Hubble Bubble on Mar 24, 2022 11:13:18 GMT 1, I think there would be people chasing the whole set. A really good move by both companies! I like the Mercury and the earth versions and would love to get one of either, but I'm over 250 miles away from the nearest store...might flip them an email to see if they'll be nice and send me one 🤔 Cheers
Although separate businesses, Omega are owned by Swatch.

Any Banksy Art sellers based in the US?, by Hubble Bubble on Mar 23, 2022 17:51:31 GMT 1, Hi and welcome to the forum. You've picked some beauties there. I assume you know that a signed Girl With Balloon will cost you over half a million dollars? Probably best at that price... for all parties... to work through some kind of broker, I'd think. But good luck with your search. Don't stop. (See what I did there).

David Hockney 🏴 Painting • Show News • Art For , by Hubble Bubble on Mar 10, 2022 17:10:12 GMT 1, I reckon he executed them on two sheets and they’ve printed them onto a single. Not great if so. They're from his sketchbook
Just watched the video again and I see what you mean. He’s painted across the width of the sketchbook including the page fold.

David Hockney 🏴 Painting • Show News • Art For , by Hubble Bubble on Mar 10, 2022 15:53:18 GMT 1, There was a release of several Normandy prints about a year ago from source. Most featured the house and were a bit sub par I think. I’ve not seen any prints of the beautiful scenes of nature captured in his Normandy work. If there were I think they would be every bit as popular as his Yosemite or Yorkshire series.

David Hockney 🏴 Painting • Show News • Art For , by Hubble Bubble on Mar 10, 2022 15:09:05 GMT 1, And now we know why the images were embargoed.
I’ve felt the Taschen images dropped off considerably after the Sumo. I didn’t like the ‘My Window’ series and, frankly, these reek of a lazy cash in.
It will be interesting to see if they sell well. I’m a keen Hockney collector and -despite being offered - decided a while ago I was out. I’d rather pick up a couple of older lithographs for this money.
