Banksy Welcome Mat, by Hubble Bubble on Mar 9, 2022 11:53:18 GMT 1, Thatโs a nice frame as youโd expect from Pauli, think Iโd still go black. Absolutely... I think the frame has to be right for the owner and the location. This is going into a beach house, stripped floorboards etc. For us it works better white. But I can see how black would work too.

Banksy Welcome Mat, by Hubble Bubble on Mar 9, 2022 11:16:44 GMT 1, Nice and simple from Ricardo at Pauliframes. And before you ask... no, the PINS canvas behind isn't mine. Trust me, I've tried enough times to make it so.

Banksy โข Souvenir Wall Sections, by Hubble Bubble on Feb 28, 2022 15:16:06 GMT 1, For the purposes of helping anyone on here avoid being scammed, here are a couple of pics of my five piece 'JUSTICE' wall section, bought direct from WOH... as you can see, a bit different from the fake.

EDIT --- Sorry, peeps! Just realised by posting these I'm helping fraudsters who can use them to propagate fraud. Jeez... life can be complicated sometimes.
cheers HB

For Sale - only Banksy posters left , by Hubble Bubble on Feb 23, 2022 13:50:19 GMT 1, I bought from Coach many years ago. Not only was the transaction seamless but we have remained friends ever since. You wonโt meet a more decent, honest member of our community. Do I have to become coach's friend if I buy from him?
Itโs not obligatory but difficult to resist

Art as an investment , by Hubble Bubble on Feb 17, 2022 10:49:00 GMT 1, I'd agree with much of the advice above. My modest collection includes several 'blue chip' artists and I continue to buy their works at a price point that I believe is right for the image and medium I believe to be representative of a desirable period of their output. I don't know if I'll ever sell but if I choose to then much of what I have is very saleable.
However, I would caveat all the above by saying that I firmly believe art for investment and pleasure can (and should) go hand in hand.
I have picked up pieces that are (financially) worthless but are just as valuable (emotionally) a part of my collection as those by the 'recognised' artists. They 'fit' with my collection and remind me of the joy I've had building it. I have mass produced images from IKEA, original oils from internet discovered artists, work from artists I've discovered on this forum... all sorts. So don't let the 'investment' cloud the fact that art collecting and discovery should be, first and foremost, a joyous and creative endeavour.
That's my 10 cents... enjoy the ride!

For Sale: Damien Hirst - The Currency #8264 โOut of fearโ, by Hubble Bubble on Feb 1, 2022 23:16:12 GMT 1, The mental gymnastics people are going through to justify this completely bonkers pricing is beyond me
Iโm not justifying anything. I hold an NFT. All I'm saying is they are not the same thing. The โgymnasticsโ are simply the reasoning behind my position.

For Sale: Damien Hirst - The Currency #8264 โOut of fearโ, by Hubble Bubble on Feb 1, 2022 22:41:22 GMT 1, I hope that everyone will stop comparing this to an NFT... It is a beauty and makes me want to get mine very soon. GLWTS This makes my day. Explaining how those are two different things and in the next sentence saying how you will transfer one into the other yourself.
To be fairโฆ I can transfer a gift voucher for a gift. But they arenโt the same thing. You can keep one or the otherโฆ the voucher or the gift. If you keep the voucher for ten years, itโs pretty clear the buying power of the voucher will diminish. And the gift? Wellโฆ who knows what you bought with it.
This voucher comes with an allure in its own right. Trueโฆ you can buy only one thing with it should you choose to redeem it but who knows, should you choose to keep it, what this voucher may be worth in ten years.
Whatever people choose to doโฆ they (NFT and Physical) are patently not the same thing.

Banksy Prices Up or Down?, by Hubble Bubble on Jan 25, 2022 11:25:34 GMT 1, I think you just invented Capital Gains Tax, Bren! I don't think we get CGT on our primary residence? Also I think I will tax any Fast food at a rate of 50% Vote for Me! Correct, we don't!
Are you proposing 2% of 5% or 40% of the gain? Either way your new application of CGT might prove tricky as a vote winner.
But I feel a policy being developed as we speak.
Bren for PM! Tax the rich! And the fat! Parties every friday

Banksy Prices Up or Down?, by Hubble Bubble on Jan 25, 2022 2:02:48 GMT 1, Some good posts and yes I had to have a word with the wife, the other day she bought the kids cherries for crazy money. I said 'just take the kids in the store and leave them walk around eating the cherries and pay for a couple when you leave' ๐. Have to be careful when out shopping thesedays, always check prices.. Problem is also here in Australia the government doesn't factor a lot of things into their inflation calcs. Like cars and houses etc..so their bullshit low figure isn't real inflation. My house has gone up nearly $300k since covid started which is crazy. It just means the divide is getting bigger and people have to borrow more, rents rise as investors raise them to cover extra money borrowed. There will be far more homeless people in the future, its already happening, we'll end up with tent streets like in the US. Like many countries Australian government debt is in its trillions, and household debt is massive also. Question is how much longer can it go on and the debt pile up? It will have to be paid back someday? Anyway we'll see how it all pans out, hope members here don't get in debt or trouble with art, crypto or NFTs ๐ The housing market is bollocks. I vote we tax the house equity. If it goes up 5% in a year we pay 2% in tax. (Don't ask me for detail as I haven't really thought it through yet) Vote for me!

Art Storage UK, by Hubble Bubble on Jan 20, 2022 8:18:00 GMT 1, As an aside, I've never really been a one for insurance. If you got burgled, I suspect they would take your laptop before they thought of taking your Banksy or Invader hanging on the wall. Most people know diddly squat about art. Fire, escape of water and accidental damage are all real things as are art thieves who take orders. Art storage is not cheap and the one-off cost of alarm installation and monthly monitoring fees should be quickly surpassed by the cost of continued storage.
100% correct

HB When you applied you had to activate your wallet..? Metamask? Then you got confirmation that you applied (but not on email) hope this helps? I think all that applied will get something? Hey, argie
Thanks for this. I'd thought I'd done everything correctly... it seemed to confirm I'd made my selection but I've heard nothing since and am unable to access the merchandise page or to check in any way if my request registered.
Ah well
