Eelus ATR - PP, by sin on Mar 10, 2016 20:00:33 GMT 1, Hey guys -
I donated my PP Eelus ATR to a charity a friend of mine is the chair of. She had it professionally framed by my most trusted framer and its going up for bid this Saturday. There is an extremely low reserve on it.
If this is in the wrong thread, please move, and accept my apology. If interested, PM me for now. She's setting up an email for inquiry but not there yet.
The charity in question is names Shuzz. Shuzz does a number of things, its four most prominent are 1. Bring footwear to children in impoverished nations. They do these shoe drops all over the developing world. 2. Bring athletic footwear to children in the inner cities, impoverished communities in the US. Giving kids a chance to have the proper equipment for athletics etc. 3. They do a back to school program to help kids who cant otherwise afford new shoes have them for school. 3. The fund and arrange no cost surgery for children suffering for abnormalities like club foot etc.

There is a Logan Hicks piece as well. Waiting for pictures of it.

Faile - happens everyday! / Gender bias discussion..., by sin on Mar 9, 2016 22:58:59 GMT 1, You are a better man than me for dealing with this world womens day bullshit. It was official "its ok to be a nufeminist complaining breezebag day" and if that shit came into my office, you can bet I'd send that person to HR right away about causing a ruckus. Equality is about gender, race, etc not being part of the equation. My people work hard and spend a lot of time with us, and they deserve to have some space where they can have things that they enjoy and as long as it doesnt harm little kids, Its ok by us.
The Faile piece is fine. Particularly if you serve a roll that has limited to no client interaction. I wouldnt put it in my welcome area, or my conference room, but if its your office, hang that shit and enjoy it.
Fucking blubbering dipshits.

Your latest Art Purchase?, by sin on Mar 4, 2016 21:47:52 GMT 1, A bit of a heart attack with these and shipping (went to an old address and couldnt find them for a day) Untitled by Craig ONeil, on Flickr Sainer - Washing Untitled by Craig ONeil, on Flickr Bezt - Spirit of the Forrest Wish I could have stayed home today Wow, that Sainer looks amazing. As dread says, better pics if poss my friend. What's the medium? On my little phone screen it looks like charcoal. But I imagine it's painted. Thanks for the kind words guys, you know that feeling when they first go up on the wall, been buzzing all day.
The Sainer piece is Graphite, ink, colored pencil and spray paint on paper The white elements are the colored pencil, i cant really discern the ink, the entire figure is graphite and the shading is insane. The spray paint is a little burst by the skirt.
I'll drop some detailed shots later today. A bit hard to capture because the glass

new print by 1010 - at 1xrun (USA), by sin on Jan 29, 2016 16:34:17 GMT 1, The quality of printing by 1xRun is solid. The service is good, and turn around times can vary based on getting product to and back from the artist.
I will however add myself to the list of people that think not doing this as a screen print is down right criminal.

Your latest Art Purchase?, by sin on Dec 9, 2015 22:25:08 GMT 1, yeah @hxfour, they are the small ones. I'd love to get my hands on the 24" but the price tag for all 4... just too much for this guy. If money wasnt an object, I have THE perfect place in my yard for the 9 footers.

Visit MIAMI ๐บ๐ฒ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by sin on Nov 19, 2015 18:38:56 GMT 1, I personally lament calling anything the next wynwood, because I see wynwood as a cautionary tale, whatever comes next should aspire to be the Anti Wynwood, or the Wynwood that should have been, but I digress) Agree, I meant more in the sense of what Wynwood used to be like and not at what it has become. It used to be the place to go to see next art but the corporate heads and food trucks have changed it into something different yeah, sorry, its a sore spot for me (as I am sure it is for you) i started going 8 years back, which was well after it started, but at least back then it was still authentic. the fucking swap meet meets lincoln road bullshit that there is now makes me want to jab my eye out with a fork and call myself fetty wap.

Visit MIAMI ๐บ๐ฒ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by sin on Nov 19, 2015 3:57:21 GMT 1, Hey @hxfour
Yeah, 2nd - 4th is solid. The weekend (friday night, saturday, saturday night) end up full of onlookers. So the Weds, Thurs, Friday is solid.
My advice, do the beach Wednesday night, Aqua's opening is that night and unlike Art Miami's opening (which i can stand) Aqua is rad. If you need to get on getting opening passes, hit up the website. www.aquaartmiami.com, Scope, Untitled, and Pulse are all open on the 2nd, so you should be able to kill the beach in a day.
Sounds like you are leaving on the 4th, so I would have said Wynwood on the 4th (for the Jaime xx show) but outside of that go Thursday the 3rd. You have Art Miami | Context, Spectrum, Red Dot, X Contemporary and the Wynwood galleries to check out.
Alternatively, as has been said, there is some cool, rawer stuff happening in Little Haiti and Little River these days (I personally lament calling anything the next wynwood, because I see wynwood as a cautionary tale, whatever comes next should aspire to be the Anti Wynwood, or the Wynwood that should have been, but I digress).
One note, if you have never been to the big show Art | Basel, understand that its MASSIVE and while it is the top of the mountain in art, you will miss a lot of what you may really like to experience it. That disclaimer aside, it is the top of the mountain, the art show to go to in order to see how the other half lives. (if you want to find a 6 foot tall ball of tin foil for $1,000,000, its there). Also, as I said before, watch IG, if you can go to a pop up event that looks cool, blow off a fair and go check it, because its likely to be a moment that wont repeat. Its a risk but it could be rad.
Only advice on travel, based on the news about the venitian, i would try as hard as possible NOT to cross the bridge on any day, you will lose 2 hours (could be more, could be less) but I would get to one side and work your way around there, vs plan a day where you are trying to hit Scope and something in town on the same day.

Visit MIAMI ๐บ๐ฒ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by sin on Nov 18, 2015 15:17:25 GMT 1, The Venetian causeway is closed for Basel. This means traffic is going to be worse than usual. The city is deploying a bus system between the fairs and beefing up the water taxi system between the beach and the city. . Scooters won't work to get you across because the two main bridges are technically highways.

Visit MIAMI ๐บ๐ฒ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by sin on Nov 16, 2015 21:10:06 GMT 1, It's not an understatement to say I live all year for this one week. This makes 8 years in a row I think.
Things are shaping up nicely. Some wicked shows Jaime XX w / Four Tet Slick Rick Richie Hawtin
There is a street art thing at MANA, there is a thing on 29th between 3rd and 4th (or 2nd and 3rd) called Smashed Canvas that is looking rad.
A few new fairs popped up in Wynwood (X Contemporary, and Spectrum / Red Dot / something else moved to Wynwood)
Most of the goods are on the beach of this year. Pulse, Scope, Untitled, Aqua, Art | Basel, im sure Im missing something.
Advice - scooters. or stick to one side (the beach / downtown) per day. Getting across one side to the other is a bitch and you will easily eat an hour if not two trying. if you MUST get across the bridges for some reason then use the Venetian causeway, its your only hope.
If you havent applied for VIP from the fair itself, check where the galleries you buy from are showing an reach out to see if they have passes. Dont ask for passes if you arent going to buy or if you dont buy a lot, cause they only get so many. Otherwise expect to miss the preview and pay $20 - $40 at each fair to get in.
Food, dont expect fairs to have it, especially till Friday. If they do, expect they could run out. So if you like to eat when you want, have kids, etc, eat elsewhere or bring snacks.
BYOB or expect to spend a lot of cash. A flash goes a long way when drinks are $15 a piece. (and thats being conservative)
Hit the hotel bars in SOBE, you are likely to see people you really want to see grabbing drinks.
Art Miami \ Context is a shit show, flash fest (look at me) at the opening. I hate it, and would not recommend it. Aqua is a party, and while its packed, I love that fair and suggest it. Scope is always great. Watch IG, great shit will be happening that didnt have a marketing budget and your best way to find it is instagram.
I'll post more later. PM me if you have questions.

Scope is always great. Watch IG, great shit will be happening that didnt have a marketing budget and your best way to find it is instagram.
I'll post more later. PM me if you have questions.
