Parra Safety Dance Print, by natstan on Jun 29, 2019 18:35:17 GMT 1, To be fair too, who’s to know not all 208k of parra’s followers are of quality (or higher quality), and comprises financially independent collectors as well?
It's the quality of followers not quantity Some artists have a few collectors, who are financially independent, with stacks of disposable income. Flipside, you could have an army of sneakerhead hypebeast followers who still live at home with their parents. Also Parra don't flip so good compared to Oli Epp or Pejac. Jus sayin'. I was just thinking the same yesterday. How could an artist who has done various collabs with big brands, has a massive following on IG and doing his thing for over a decade be overshadowed by relatively lesser known newcomers charging over €1k for a print easily these days?! Kudos to him for making his art accessible to the everyman and hope it’ll continue that way moving forward.

Also, hats off to Parra on the pricing. A decent run size, and good value. When others are making £1,000 the norm, it’s refreshing to see a sensibly priced print

Parra No Work Today Print, by natstan on Jun 13, 2019 13:48:47 GMT 1, One of parra’s best images though i like the screenprinting work on ‘the window’ print better. The ink seems to not be as saturated and thick as I had wished. I had thought I saw it selling for sub $700-800 a while back, but as someone said, parra seems to be on the up and up, what with his connection with OTI now.

Need Advice - Victim of Fraud Via Arsty, by natstan on Feb 13, 2019 16:49:47 GMT 1, Alright, maybe boycott is a strong word. When a company knows their email system/ url has been abused or compromised, they should pursue this, investigate, announce publicly and account to customers who made purchases based on their very brand at the very least. Afterall, her husband landed on the supposed legit website and made a large value transaction. If this can happen to the OP’s husband, it could happen to every artsy customer. More help from artsy would be much appreciated i suppose. My point is, before I begin posting #boycott an organization I need a bit more to go on than an anonymous poster on an open forum saying something happened to her husband.

#bewareartsy #boycottartsy There’s always instagram and social media. If they don’t want to expose their own shortcomings in the security system, we’ll do it for them. With enough numbers from this forum here voicing out in their posts, it’ll probably make the top guys at artsy to take actions. Before I get the pitchforks out, I have to ask, how do we know this bad transaction actually happened? (No I don’t work for Artsy, nor have I bought anything using their site, I mean...why would I? Honest question, if I see a piece of work I like on their or any similar platform, why not ring up the gallery myself?)

some editors not scupulous at all, by natstan on Feb 6, 2019 15:53:43 GMT 1, I have always found book depository to offer the lowest prices compared to other outlets. Strange that this happened... I would denounce some publishers by the web or not, who inflate prices and sell double and triple a book not even sold out. By example Book Depositary - they write : " free shipping " to bait us.
In fact I ordered the last Jamie Reid at 54 euros on the site (30 quids on L13 but sold out ), and the next day, I saw that it could be found it cheaper on ebay, for example, sold for 20 quids.
I wanted to cancel, I had a look today on their site, and guess what... This afternoon, the book is at 64 euros?! This means that B.D. adjusts prices based on sales and the day-to-day market. What infamous publishers! Ebay are angels in comparizon

New Eelus release : Hold On To What You Got, by natstan on Feb 6, 2019 4:25:15 GMT 1, I quite like the smiley version. Agree the AR collab killed his market and reputation but really gotta give him a break after that long. Artists need to feed themselves too, ha. E’s style has always been about fun childhood and sci-fi/ horror fantasies - this is just in line with his style.

Worst auction deal with ebay seller, by natstan on Jan 29, 2019 2:45:07 GMT 1, I guess just have to let it go. Let’s see where their current auction will eventually finish at, and whether they’ll pull another stunt.
Had one a while back, still makes me laugh... Won a print at a fair price, paid immediately, as per usual, the seller wasn't happy started messaging me all sorts of nonsense about his paypal account was frozen and I had to transfer him the cash or meet up with him with pound notes to get the print & he'd refund my paypal payment once his account was unfrozen... Told the guy I'd just cancel the transaction, which you can do after an auction or buy now and get a full refund, however, he had already marked it as dispatched, 2am on a Saturday night (!!), which then means you as a buyer are no longer able to cancel the transaction. He's messaging me more garbage, getting threatening and sketchy AF - then tells me the courier had actually picked up the print at 1am Sat night, but he called them and they turned back and bought it back to him!! Even more jokes! As soon as he'd messaged that I called ebay, they looked at my inbox and opened a case with 24hr resolution & I had my cashback. The silly cnut has been re-listing the same print on his other account (p.s don't use the same pics & leave the ed number visible if you don't want to doxx yourself) for almost a year & can't shift it OP, my advise? let it go.... let it go.... let it gooooooo there's plenty of greedy t**ts buying and selling online, offline, everywhere, be thankful you lost nothing

They currently have a kaws original sketch up with bids on the low end. Let’s see if the bid price will eventually come up short of their expectations.

Worst auction deal with ebay seller, by natstan on Jan 28, 2019 14:02:59 GMT 1, Now they wouldn’t even reply to my messge saying I’ve got an US address for them to ship to, ha. If you guys look for some ongoing charity art auctions with listings of jonas wood, kaws and parra posters and prints, you’ll find this seller I’m talking about. Oh yes, they say they donate 10 percent of proceeds to charity I know it is a muted point and has nothing to do with how you've been treated but on a side point if you paid by PayPal the seller can only post to the address listed on your PayPal. Happened to me where the buyer wanted me to ship to a different address, eBay said I wouldn't be covered for a refund if I didn't send it to the listed address.
That is not an issue whatsoever as they have refunded me earlier. But if they honored their words as promised and offered to sell me the said piece now that they have supposedly ‘found’ it, i could have added in the Us address to ship to before paying.

Worst auction deal with ebay seller, by natstan on Jan 28, 2019 12:13:38 GMT 1, On hindsight, I think I was too naive to believe them. I paid fully after auction and entered into a contract with this seller. i had every right to leave him a negative review for the booboo, the reason being they are selling something which they don’t even know if they have (according to their explanation). They even went as far as to tell me their intern messed up the auction by listing it without knowing where it is in their warehouse/ inventory and was fired with immediate effect back then, lol... all that crap and I bought the story.
