Kunstrasen show, by natstan on Jul 15, 2015 1:43:37 GMT 1, My goodness that sold out first. Can anyone explain the image to me please, i'm interested in someone else's interpretation. Not sure how much assistance I can offer here. I'm familiar with the source photograph and its context, and also a large part of the photographer's body of work. But it isn't clear to me what the recontextualised image represents when combined with Snow White. [The work's title is also puzzling. To me, it makes about as much sense as a typical result on Google Translate.] A 1930s Disney animated film character beside a 1960s ARVN Ranger? Curious juxtaposition of bygone, dated imagery. Maybe it's simply meant to depict an innocent caucasian 14-year-old who's been executed by a gook? A bit like North Charleston, South Carolina, but with a shooting that gives Fox News its own turn to be outraged. Just look at that foreigner, with his cowardly eyes. If he weren't black-and-white, no doubt he'd be yellow. The bastard.ย One hardly dares imagine what plans he now has for such a beautiful corpse. Ahem, is that supposed to be a racist statement there when you said he should be 'yellow'?

Pejac โข Meadow Print, by natstan on Jul 7, 2015 17:52:30 GMT 1, Hi! Thanks for being frank.
Are you saying somebody bought the original of that painting (Le Bateau Ivre)?
Thanks
Oops hope the moderators don't sanction this, lol. I saw the og on the latest art buy on the other forum which we all (or most) know by now.

Pejac โข Meadow Print, by natstan on Jul 7, 2015 17:13:39 GMT 1, To be frank, I would actually much prefer a print of this piece below (i saw this on the latest buy thread that day with the og framed by one of the members). But the stag one comes a close second in terms of preference. Pejac's works embodies so much wit and soul. Go take some time and look through them.

Eelus โข Where They'll Never Find Us, by natstan on Jul 4, 2015 7:19:09 GMT 1, From this release, one can see how much E cares for his fans, increasing the edition size so fans have chances of getting one, taking care of the print and paper quality and details in his work and working with a gallery which tops all expectations (at least imo). I even think the manner in which it was released by half an hour earlier than the promised timing is a bid to outsmart the flippers and keep many of them from landing one (though it can't be totally avoided still). All the while keeping the price down. He could have sold it for ยฃ350 (as what mr dolk and his peers does) and it will still sell out i'm sure. But he chose to stick to ยฃ200 for a print that is so well produced, regardless of whether you love the image or not.
An artist well worth my support all these years.

Eelus โข Where They'll Never Find Us, by natstan on Jul 3, 2015 16:39:55 GMT 1, Yes UPS... I'm still amazed at how efficient their shipping rate is, considering it's free. Opened up the tube, the paper is thick and the smell of paint fills the room the moment it pops out out of it. The finishing is also top-notch, I almost thought AR sent me a hand-finished by mistake (bought a standard) as it does really look the part. Worth every penny of ยฃ200. Get some pics up then!!
The paper is thick as hell, having a hard time just taming the curls. Will whip up some pics tomorrow!

Eelus โข Where They'll Never Find Us, by natstan on Jul 3, 2015 15:30:43 GMT 1, Were they sent by UPS? I previously got an email from AR with UPS tracking info. Nothing has showed up on UPS website since then. Just got another email from AR today saying that it has just been dispatched via air mail... I was told this morning the courier is UPS.

Eelus โข Where They'll Never Find Us, by natstan on Jul 2, 2015 15:19:52 GMT 1, True, took atr a good 2 years to break the psychological barrier that is ยฃ1k. On another note, just learnt that a fren bought a standard neisbw for a cool ยฃ3.2k wondering if that is expected in the market today?? I think that is about right, maybe a tad high? But they very rarely come up for sale these days
That's what I told her. But since she bought it, all I can say to her is 'as long as u enjoy looking at it, it's worth every penny!'

Eelus โข Where They'll Never Find Us, by natstan on Jul 2, 2015 15:11:03 GMT 1, I am very surprised the prices have gone up so quickly. I thought, like with ATR, there would have been more than enough PPs from AR to go around for everybody that wanted one....?

It's a little naive to think the number of PPs this time round will be the same as ATR's - those pps are released to cover the cost of the shipping fiasco if I remember correctly. It's not going to be the same case here unless AR screws up the shipping too?

Eelus Artwork, VALUATION, by natstan on Jul 2, 2015 14:59:13 GMT 1, Hi all,
I wish to check what's the going rate for a neisbw. Just learnt my fren could have set a new high for the print - she paid a whooping ยฃ3.2k for a standard. Did she really pay too much or that is the price expected?

Petition to unclutter the sticky threads, by natstan on Jul 2, 2015 6:47:18 GMT 1, I hate having to scroll down, I just want to see the new posts. It also looks bad. ย And some of those threads even take weeks to ย be refreshed. Are these really soooo important? Show us YOUR - Artists Proof - AP's Show us YOUR - Latest Pad ARTIST STUDIOS VIDEO OF THE DAY... ARTISTS SKETCHBOOK THREAD If it were up to me I would just sticky the new art thread, everything else is just clutter. Anybody else agree? I think another improvement would be to reverse the order of posts within threads so the latest posts come up on the 1st page rather than having to go to the back everytime.

Eelus โข Where They'll Never Find Us, by natstan on Jul 1, 2015 13:33:10 GMT 1, On the plus side, his last release (Conjuring) also sold out in a flash, with about 20% of the edition turning up on eBay within half an hour, but as it turned out it's not proved very hard to get on the secondary market (indeed, I sold mine at cost after it was rejected by the art police). I do think that the success of ATR and NEiSBaW will make people more desperate to get this one, and less likely to sell it on at minimal profit, but that all hope is not lost to those who missed out today (like me).
Based on past history, its seems only kids and rainbows are worth something though...

A few more edits from the shy Urban artist i am mentoring, by natstan on Jun 25, 2015 14:17:04 GMT 1, Thanks for the replyย natstan, from the previous post from other members i think the artist in question has has taken on board the fact he needs to improve his concept and develop further Being a young artist its a fine line we tread in passing on constructive criticism of there work and reducing there some times over enthusiastic love of the art they create. Young artist will always come along and produce art that challenges the establishment using new technology and techniques some good some bad thats the way the art field has rolled for years. I am glad that i have broached these questions and got some answers for the artist concerned and any other young artist looking for information in this area. thanks again for your input. BAJ
We are just providing constructive coments whatever we feel is not working or can be finetuned. It's good you used a forum to do this. Of course, it's important for him not to get too swayed by what the market wants, hence making him a copycat of other artists or falling prey to the situation of just creating works which sell. Continue improving, continue evolving!
