Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by Black Apple Art on May 8, 2015 20:17:32 GMT 1, Well again assuming both are perfect or at least top condition I'd say around ยฃ10k for Stop & Search since there has been one on HangUp for a bit for just over ยฃ11k but I am unsure of it's condition. I sold my Color Trolleys a few months ago for $12k . Hope that helps.

JJ Adams ๐ฌ๐ง Print Release โข Exhibition โข Art For Sale, by Black Apple Art on May 5, 2015 2:19:58 GMT 1, This one is not great. The Biker Scout's just floating and not casting a shadow. And speaking of shadows, I know that Tatooine has 2 suns, but the shadows are all over the place in the image. The thing is, so many Star Wars fans have access to photoshop, you see loads of these mock up images on the internet every day. And much better ones. JJ's really lucky that he's the artist putting the work out there, because there are an awful lot of geeks and nerds that do the same thing just for s**ts and giggles on twitter. Edit: But if you like it and have bought it, then good for you. Oh no. I thought this was done by someone on the forum taking the pi$$. This isn't very good at all Same here.. I thought someone had one-upped my "White House" piece lol

FS Banksy Grey Nola , by Black Apple Art on May 5, 2015 2:17:40 GMT 1, Great rare piece! Not to stray from the sale but have seen countless references to the Nola image to be raining inside the umbrella and wanted to know where this theory is coming from. If you notice all the rain drops are behind the girl and or coming off the sides of the umbrella canopy. I would think if the idea were to be that it was raining "under" the umbrella, it would have been illustrated as such with the drops on and in front of her as well. Never got this theory or where it came from. In the original street piece, it was raining on the inside of the umbrella, on and in front of her as well. Beautiful piece, GLWTS! Seems with street pieces there isn't always time for detail perfection and even on this piece I do not see where it would clearly show it's raining "inside" the umbrella, as apposed to off the edges of it where it would still be dripping in front. When it comes to the print the artist has all the time and detail in the world to convey their message accurately and I honestly believe if it was B's intent to show it raining under the umbrella, he would have clearly done so in the print version, which he didn't. Either way love the image but I just don't get where this theory is coming from.

Banksy Artwork, VALUATION, by Black Apple Art on May 3, 2015 19:48:10 GMT 1, Not really kept an eye on things recently ... Would really appreciate views on current value of the following signed happy chopper signed j and j unsigned CND all in excellent condition ... Not looking to sell, need to check insurance thank you jon I know there are several ways of insuring art but have found the best coverage for protecting your true value for a total collection is having a blanket policy for a set amount of total coverage. Then at the time of a loss each claimed piece is dealt with on it's own to establish market value or replacement cost at time time of loss. Especially with Banksy, it never does you justice to insure at the current or even slightly over the current replacement cost as you will have no idea what that cost will be at the time of a loss and it is just futile to have to worry about constantly submitting itemized price estimates and relying on threads like this for you pieces to keep up to date. Just an opinion and have had many good friends do that same that are very happy with this system.

NEPAL Earthquake Appeal - Art Sales & Auctions, by Black Apple Art on May 1, 2015 18:05:19 GMT 1, As good a deed as it is - surely someone of his wealth could have donated 100%? I would bet its more than "people of his wealth" are donating. Point is most that donate, especially the wealthy, don't boast about it or use it to profit. They just do it. Yes, better than nothing but just bad forum to profit off a tragedy in my opinion.

NEPAL Earthquake Appeal - Art Sales & Auctions, by Black Apple Art on May 1, 2015 18:02:57 GMT 1, Really? $16,250 yesterday. $15,000 today. I don't think that's something to 'LOL' about. I think that's awesome! As good a deed as it is - surely someone of his wealth could have donated 100%? My point exactly... does one need to profit off the sale as well.

Everybody okay in paris?, by Black Apple Art on Apr 30, 2015 18:17:08 GMT 1, Charlie Hebdo's Luz quits Muhammad cartoons
If it was really just him being bored of doing it I don't think he would have held a press conference to announce it. Seems a bit like giving in but being here I have no idea of the pressure and or threats he has been dealing with.

Haring Authentication , by Black Apple Art on Apr 30, 2015 17:53:11 GMT 1, Looks suspect, but Haring's signature varies pretty widely, so who knows. In any event, no one will authenticate based on a signature which is ultimately quite easy to forge. Provenance talks, almost everything else walks. I always found this bit of information shocking. When Jamie Martin, one of the world's top forensic art analysts, was interviewed by 60 minutes, he said about 98% of all the pieces that come past him are fakes! Even more insane is almost all the time the gallery or owner just tosses the news aside and keeps the piece in circulation. His stats come at 11:18 in this piece bellow.

For sales threads - new stringent rules, by Black Apple Art on Apr 26, 2015 2:59:21 GMT 1, After making an offer for a Banksy that was described as 'mint', with no further information given in it's for sale topic, and later finding out that the seller did not even check the condition of the print before putting it up for sale here, but had it still rolled in a tube (for years) and when it came out it had a major dink in it, I think it's about time this board implements some stringent rules if you are to sell your art on this website. It shouldn't be too hard. Here's what a sale topic should at least contain: If this would just be made a general rule, and any FS thread that doesn't follow these stringent guidelines if just instantly deleted by the forum guardians, it would save a LOT of people a LOT of time and frustration. Some of these are asked when you make a sales thread. create one and you will see the options. I'd estimate 1 in 10 prints are in top condition and that's being generous. It is the buyers responsibility to ask for pictures front and back or have a 3rd party inspect it. If in London I highly recommend John Jones, as many sellers do not know how or just don't want to open up their frames.

FS: Banksy Soup Can xxx/250, by Black Apple Art on Apr 23, 2015 20:21:37 GMT 1, Saw Tesco lost about 8 billion on their recent earnings, heard B had a little BBQ to celebrate. They still make money, it's a property write down. New boss blaming everything on what went before and pretty standard practice. Give it a couple of years and he'll re-value that, add it back in and share options worth a fortune Great for sale thread tho' whilst an edition of 250 I do wonder actually how many are left in pristine condition and possibly rarer than you think? I'd absolutely love this, like Ruggs said, one day....... I agree, and as I stated in my earlier post about the horrible condition of prints recently, all top quality B pieces, signed and unsigned, are much rarer than people think.

Bloomsbury Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by Black Apple Art on Apr 23, 2015 9:19:47 GMT 1, Price are bit down in the last few month. More the signed than unsigned. I can honestly say, I haven't seen more prints available in a while as the high prices have obviously been bringing a new level of people willing to part with their pieces. But in contrast, without a doubt, I have never seen more damaged and less than investment quality prints in circulation ever. Between myself and several other buyers and collectors, I can honestly say more than half of all pieces I see for sale, and that's probably low, have undisclosed damage. I believe this is due to three main reasons:
1) We know many older pieces that were first purchased for a few hundred pounds or less were just not deemed worthy of spending more than a fraction of that framing. I think this is the smallest portion of the issue now as many have been flushed out, so no need to go further into that. 2) Most framers really do not possess the knowledge or skill to do true conservation framing. This combined with the most owners knowing even less, is a deadly combination resulting in a massive amount of prints out there with are severely damaged and getting worse with every passing day. The scary thing is many of these pieces look perfect framed and sadly enough, this is how most are sold with neither the buyer or seller even bothering to open and inspect it. 3) Many being aware of the factors in #2 go by this "no inspection, no issue" policy where they either know the piece is damaged and pass it along again or just don't want to look. I can't even count how many galleries, resellers and owners just in the past 6 months have sworn pieces to be "perfect" or "mint" and after the smoke clears I have found out they have never even looked at the piece beyond the framed glass, or that was their excuse, and then always blame the original owner, the framer or they old, I just never looked. Double sided tape, glue, non conservation grade materials.. the list goes on and on. There are some great framers out there but for every great one there are probably 10 that are not so good so know your framer, know your shit or even better, know both!
All and all yes, there are some deals to be had but when you see a low price or a price that seems "above market" wether from a private party, dealer or auction house...you need to know what was actually sold. To think that all the pieces my mates and I have returned or refused are most likely hanging in someone's home having no clue of what they truly have is scary and sad.
I probably have gotten off topic here but I think if more people knew the questions to ask and what to look for it would put a big dent in this massive issue that for the most part goes unnoticed until it's too late. With the little that is out there, these pieces are scarce enough as it is and to pay or charge a premium for a truly top quality and preserved print is worth every penny imo.
As you were.
