How and Nosm at Jacob Lewis, by Poly Mindset on Feb 20, 2015 20:56:18 GMT 1, They said 3 sold before the opening. The smallest and the largest and one other. It's no wonder. These guys make super freakin' great art. They have a style that no other artist could even come close to, it's just wild. I think they will keep being recognized as one of the best of our generation and eventually as one of the all time greats. What fascinates me is that they don't release many prints at all. It's pretty much original or nothing. I kind of like that.

Your latest Art Purchase?, by Poly Mindset on Feb 17, 2015 19:41:52 GMT 1, Not my latest but one of my greatest, at least I enjoy it. Purchased from 1975 Gallery in Rochester, NY. Dangerous Dames by Mr. Prvrt, one of the best stencil artist I've ever seen. Acrylic on wood, Ltd. ed.of 5. Four of films best female action characters: Tank Girl(Lori Petty), Gogo Yubari from Kill Bill( Chiaki Kuriyama), Poison Ivy from Batman (Uma Thurman), Black Widow from The Avengers (Scarlett Johansson). Talk about sexy and dangerous. Anyone of these chicks can kick my ass anytime they want.

DONE, by Poly Mindset on Feb 15, 2015 5:07:36 GMT 1, Any old reason... Originally I thought this print was about a girl with a broken heart. However, maybe she's just taking a painful dump. Whatever, I still love her.

LAS VEGAS STREET ART, by Poly Mindset on Feb 13, 2015 17:20:05 GMT 1, Hi good Forumites I'm off to Las Vegas soon and wondered if any good people from the states could point me in the right direction for photos of Vegas Street art. I love the Dface piece so if someone could help me out with locations it would be great. I will post when I get back. Many thanks Can't tell you more than others already have about the Las Vegas art thing. I can tell you if you want to save some money don't travel by cab. The bus system is great in Las Vegas and a bus comes every 10 min. and they pretty much go everywhere. Don't get on the accordion buses (or double bus) cause they stop at every stop. Use the regular single buses as the stop at every fourth stop I think, you'll get where you're going faster. An all day 24hr. pass is like $8. have fun but watch your wallet when you're drunk. Check out the aerosol artists on Freemont St. they're there at night they paint really fast and cool pictures, kind of touristy but fun to watch. Good luck.

STOLEN BANKSY'S, by Poly Mindset on Feb 13, 2015 8:36:15 GMT 1, I've barely slept now for two nights. I'm not emotionally fragile but I'd be lying if I said that I hadn't had at least one suicidal thought over this. Some might say that's pathetic but I genuinely cannot afford to lose the money that I paid for that print. It took me ages to save the money and now it seems to be gone in a flash. What's most upsetting is that it was bought for my (6 month old today) daughter as a future present/investment. Now she has nothing but a joke for a father. But if anything happened to you she would have less. You are her future investment. Think about all the people who have lost everything and still came back. Don't worry this to will pass.

OUTIS • Print Release • Street Art, by Poly Mindset on Feb 12, 2015 3:42:47 GMT 1, I know there are all kinds of haters out there, but forgetting about all the Banksy hype and GP bulls**t I gotta say I still love this print and it still hangs prominently on my wall. I love it's implications with regards to cautionary tales of the traps that can come with affection, and questioning if entering into any type of relationship with another party is a very good idea at all. Happy Valentines Day to all you lovers and all you haters can kiss my ass.

Show us Your own Artwork 🎨, by Poly Mindset on Feb 10, 2015 1:42:22 GMT 1, I finally found time to get cracking on this one. This is layers 1,2 & 3. I love the effect of holding stencils up to a light source *10 points to whoever guesses the subject* My guess: your gay boyfriend Phillip. Just kidding but couldn't resist.

Your latest Art Purchase?, by Poly Mindset on Feb 9, 2015 20:26:12 GMT 1, Just back from the framers. I know this has been done over and over with white mat and white frame, but I don't want to be like everybody else, father. Like the way it pops against the black with turquoise accented double frame.

Dran Show • Public Execution, London 2015, by Poly Mindset on Feb 9, 2015 6:46:11 GMT 1, What if the people are supposed to create the art I thought this. Very little had been created so far and we're all just waiting around for for it to "download". I wonder if someone started, maybe Dran would add to it. I'd do it but I'm in Cali. Just go for it and see what happens.

Etam Cru 🇵🇱 Sainer & Bezt • Street Art • Print Release , by Poly Mindset on Feb 7, 2015 7:24:25 GMT 1, I think the crown is a Bezt thing and the skull is a Sainer thing, but I could be wrong. I have no idea what the rubber ducky is for, but it comes up a lot too, even in Moonshine. P.S. I like the Crown. OK well that makes sense, it's kind of his signature or moniker. Gotta love this forum. If you don't know something ask. Thanks for the education.

Etam Cru 🇵🇱 Sainer & Bezt • Street Art • Print Release , by Poly Mindset on Feb 7, 2015 5:22:46 GMT 1, the Bezt print almost seems like a sequel to Moonshine Before the drop I was trying to figure out what that tiny white crown above the back of her head was. Think it would look better without it. Any explanations for that little white turd?

Ravi Zupa 🇺🇸 New Print Release • Gallery Show News, by Poly Mindset on Feb 7, 2015 5:16:05 GMT 1, this week's edition just dropped on blackbook gallery, picked up a set. "It's just a rock on the outside." "There is a most magnificent treasure inside."
I find these prints extremely funny considering how serious the Russians being depicted are. I think individual unmatched images are still available. Picked up a matching set myself. Almost as funny as the Connor Bros., really like the old time aesthetics of the Zupa prints.

WTB banksy print / up to 10k GBP, by Poly Mindset on Feb 6, 2015 9:08:52 GMT 1, I have these ones available but maybe too pricey! unsigned Grannies – Unsigned (POW release of Ed. 500) £4,000 Applause - Unsigned (£3,500) CND – Unsigned (Ed. of 350) £5,000 Toxic Mary – Unsigned (Ed. of 600) £5,500 Trolleys – Unsigned (Ed. of 500 POW ) £5,000 Silver Flags – Unsigned (of Ed. 1000) £2,500 Morons – Unsigned (POW release of Ed. 500) £7,000 Signed Pulp Fiction - £16,000 Flying Copper - £10,000 Christ with shopping £22,000 Formica Flag - Silver £14,500 Flower Thrower AP £24,000 Applause £9,500 Hahahahaha Lol! Still trying to sell at these prices? I am seriously asking /begging fellow forumites to help me with a new hype down month. Things are getting out of hand lol Hahahahaha Lol! You're hype down didn't work before Bonham's auction and it won't work now. Why do you care so much what people are asking for their Banksy anyway? Is it a p***s envy thing? If a seller puts a price on something and someone buys it or doesn't, why should you care? Chill out man, the market is going to do what the market is going to do regardless of your actions or the actions of most the people on this forum, including myself. There is more money for Banksy art out there than you obviously realize and it's all out of your control, Boohoo. As proven on the 28th, it just needs the right venue, but don't fault those that are trying anyways.

Artcurial Art Auctions , by Poly Mindset on Feb 5, 2015 0:32:55 GMT 1, Wow, I am surprised how the New York taggers brought in such good money. I guess they're well respected in Europe. Has anyone worked with Johnny Grizot, or the Urban Art Auction with Tajan Auction House in, I believe it's France. They've ask me if I have any pieces I'd like to include in their auction but I know nothing about them. Are they for real? Are they well respected? Can anyone vouche for Johnny Grizot?

High priced Giclees, by Poly Mindset on Feb 3, 2015 23:38:02 GMT 1, It's hard to reproduce some images so Giclee is sometimes the only way ahead. That said I have a 98 colour screen print from Michael Adams an RCA artist from the Seychelles and it's bloody amazing, easily one of my favourite peices of art I have ever owned. His wife told me they had taken two years to get right. His best and biggest print is a 128 colour screen print but that was pretty expensive. Dude, please post a pic I would love to see a 98 color screen print and I'm sure others would too. Two years to get it right, that's what I'm talkin' bout. That is a print with a lot of effort into it and I could see someone paying good money for if they liked it and respecting the artist and the process even if they didn't. It's the same reason I can appreciate some of Faile's work, there are just layers and layers of screen work.

High priced Giclees, by Poly Mindset on Feb 3, 2015 19:34:23 GMT 1, Thats the OP's point - established galleries can knock out gicless for about £20 each, whereas screen prints are a hell of a lot more to invest in. And that is seldom reflected in the cost which is a shame Booooom!!! Somebody gets it. Let me reiterate the question, what is the profit margin on these high priced giclees?

High priced Giclees, by Poly Mindset on Feb 2, 2015 18:58:00 GMT 1, I think in many cases, particularly with paintings, it is the only cost effective means of reproducing the image. Sure, you could do 100+ screens to achieve the same effect, but it is going to be cost prohibitive. I think some CMYK screen prints are a reasonable substitute, such as the Conor Harrington prints put out by BLK/MRKT, however, there are also many very poor examples. What I've read about giclees is that they all don't have to be produced at once so it's more cost effective for the artist or gallery. They can print them as they sell, so if it's a dud and nobody's buying it then they don't lose a large investment. On the other hand, it can be said that the release is an edition of let's say 50 but when those 50 sell they always have the ability to print more. Whereas with a screen print the screens are usually destroyed after the edition is printed.

High priced Giclees, by Poly Mindset on Feb 2, 2015 0:06:43 GMT 1, Been noticing more galleries putting out editions of high priced giclees, what's up with that? Just got an email from Hang Up Gallery with new giclees by Dave White and Magnus Gjoen asking 700 pounds which is $1057. Forgive me and please correct me if I'm wrong about this, but aren't giclees just high resolution photos put into a computer which generates high resolution images which are then printed with a high resolution inkjet printer. Nothing against the artists who originally painted the picture, but there's no printing or silkscreening skills needed in this process. My point being, what is the profit margin on a high priced giclee? This is why I don't do giclees. And certainly not for $1000.

FS Bast Pinocchio Iguana SOLD, by Poly Mindset on Jan 31, 2015 18:43:42 GMT 1, This is an awesome print, shame to see two of the edition five already for sale here, but props for good price. Someone should buy this and frame it. First one's gone. Wouldn't be selling this if I didn't have too, and I probably won't ever see it again at this price. It really saddens me to let it go, but whatdaya gonna do. Gotta pay off the biggies or lose a finger.
