DALeast 🇨🇳 Wuhan, China • Street Art • Based in Cape Town, by bullysonzx10r on Sept 4, 2014 19:04:12 GMT 1, I should mention that everything I am saying is second-hand from a friend who went this morning to get a print and that I'm not actually in line. This print isn't for me although the sketch of it looked great. So, the list is closed though... right? I'm like 10 blocks away, if there is still hope I would definitely go, but if it's closed, no point in wasting time

New Swoon Braddock Tile Up Now, by bullysonzx10r on Sept 4, 2014 18:29:57 GMT 1, My last Braddock Print came from her studio in Bklyn. Not saying that you're wrong, but I don't know why someone would print her name on the back of the print coming from her studio. Perhaps all of the Braddock Prints are printed at Swoon's place? I'm actually curious, not being argumentative. True -no need to argue. I talked with Swoon's studio manager last year and asked her if I could get the last Swoon Braddock prints signed by her and was informed what she will not sign them as that was NOT the point of these prints - to be signed. I doubt she would have changed her mind from then to now with this print, but I havent asked specifically. If you think it is signed by her on the back and need to know, why not try reaching out and getting the answer yourself. It's not super important to me, I've already framed it, so the "swoon" on the back is covered up anyway.
From what you've mentioned though, it looks like you're probably closer to the source than me!

Can og or print owners confirm? Swoon/ Caledonia will not sign these as they are all supposed to be unsigned. My guess is someone else put "SWOON" on the back maybe to identify a pile of prints Here is her signature... not mine My last Braddock Print came from her studio in Bklyn. Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by bullysonzx10r on Aug 29, 2014 17:07:24 GMT 1, If it's not signed why bother to buy a real one ?! ...
Most people say that the signed ones are the Fake ones...
Rule of thumb with the Tenners (to me at least) If you want one, just buy one, do what you want with it and don't worry about if it's fake or not. If it's real, you've got a piece that has 99,999 brothers and sisters out there so the value isn't too high. If it's fake who gives a shit, no one will ever know or tell you, and you can have it for your own enjoyment.
Just don't buy them with the thought of flipping them.

Hopefully this will be a first, and I'm pretty sure that if I find a original that strikes me the right way, I might pick that up at the show as well.
I understand the hate for Glicee, but what can you do? If it's an artist and image you like... buy it. If Banksy came out with a Glicee print, we'd all line up to purchase.

New Swoon Braddock Tile Up Now, by bullysonzx10r on Aug 27, 2014 19:55:39 GMT 1, Interestingly the paypal account you pay to is "swoonstudio.org", so maybe Braddocktiles isn't involved in the making of the prints, but Swoon (studio) prints them themselves? I purchased this print, and the Monica print -- I love Swoon's work and this specific image was one I fell in love with in Paris.
When the Monica print arrived, it came from Swoon's studio in BKLYN, and had "Swoon" signed on the back in pencil.
I don't know that she actually signed it, but it would make sense that she did considering that it came from her studio. However, my reason for purchasing was just because I really wanted a Swoon image.

Another unarmed black teen killed by the police, by bullysonzx10r on Aug 18, 2014 19:33:05 GMT 1, Just to cut down on confusion. The autopsy that the family had performed indicated that the bullets all entered from the front. So he had not been shot when he turned around and charged the officer. Again, I don't think murdering a civilian is correct, I'm just trying to make sure the tiny amount of facts that are available are not lost. Just to be clear, eye witness statements say the first shot came from the police truck as the officer tried to aggressively pull him into the car by his throat having reversed into him for jaywalking, trying to pull away, the officer shouted, stay still or I'm going to f**king shoot you, and then seconds later did. Having been shot (from the front), the innocent (of anything but jaywalking) non suspect pulled away and tried to run. The officer got out of the car and pursued, the other kid in fear of his life hid behind a car. With nowhere to go, the non suspect of any crime, already shot, turned, put his arms up and started to get down whilst saying " don't shoot I don't have a gun", pumped up on adrenaline, machismo and racism and still charging forward, the police officer unleashed a barrage of bullets. The second non suspect fled for his life and later told this eye witness story to camera. End of story. Sounds like you've got a strong grip on what happened. I definitely don't. I wasn't there, and have only heard what is available.
While the story you just typed definitely sounds like the story from the witness who was previously with the victim while they committed felony strong arm robbery, there is a clip that has surfaced recently: clashdaily.com/2014/08/new-evidence-eye-witness-mike-brown-shooting-states-brown-doubled-back-toward-police/
From another witness who had no connection to the victim. This witness definitely tells another story, but perhaps he didn't see the incident in its entirety.
There is that old saying -- there are always 3 versions of what happened. What I saw, what you saw, and what actually took place.
Regardless of where you fall on the blame spectrum, the entire incident is a travesty. Sure, this victim should be in jail for the crime of Robbery, but he shouldn't be dead.

Another unarmed black teen killed by the police, by bullysonzx10r on Aug 18, 2014 19:07:45 GMT 1, there was a lot of coverage of that incident as well at the time. and same with the person who was choked to death in NYC recently. I think the Ferguson case was escalated on the public radar because of how the protestors and reporters were treated by the local cops before the state police took over the town I think you hit it on the head -- The cops got all the military gear out and rather than protecting the peace, pretty much forced the disruption. Regardless of the initial incident, the damage control was horrendous.

Another unarmed black teen killed by the police, by bullysonzx10r on Aug 18, 2014 19:05:58 GMT 1, In my opinion, anyone who thinks an 18yr old kid, who had already been shot, would run away, turn back around and charge at an armed policeman, is an ignorant fox news brainwashed crackhead racist with a serious lack of empathy. Another unarmed black teen killed by the police, by bullysonzx10r on Aug 18, 2014 18:26:17 GMT 1, Easy to comment on this from 3000 miles away, tougher when you have a 6'4" guy that weighs over 200 pounds inches from your gun. A guy who had just robbed a store, slammed someone into a wall and who was for sure still pumped up on adrenaline (and maybe other things) when he ran into the cop. And the eyewitnesses, yeah they're all very reliable, not. I'm no fan of the police, I had a classmate incarcerated on trumped up charges related to political protests here in the U.S. I know they can do effed up s$#t. And I get why they're upset in Ferguson. But just be careful who you try and turn into martyrs. This "little kid" isn't that innocent. You live by the sword you die by the sword. 1) I live MUCH closer to the epicenter then you imply 2) Saying an unarmed kid does not deserve to be shot 6 times and twice in the head does not qualify as me calling him a martyr. 3) Thus far majority of witnesses say he was fleeing not approaching... 4) qualifying his size as an appropriate reason to use deadly force is like saying "His head was so huge that of course I shot there twice. 5) Thus far they have found a lack of gun powder residue that indicates he was not as close to the officer as has been suggested Would love to know how an unarmed kid is living by the sword? Check out the audio I posted a few posts ago. Not saying that the guy they have on tape is right or wrong, but the fact that he was just casually talking to someone as opposed to giving a witness testimony is interesting.
The audio somewhat explains the 6 shots -- in short the person talking says that the officer was shooting at the charging victim, and that it looked like he was missing because the victim just kept coming. Turns out the officer was hitting his arms, caught the neck, the face, and it looks like as the victim was falling, hit him in the top of the head as well -- which seems to be consistent with what war-vets will explain as a shot pattern on people charging them.
Again, not saying the officer was justified, more just saying that this whole situation is sad, and while this person may deserve to be in jail, they don't deserve to be dead. Just like the officer didn't expect to kill someone that day. However, the officer has to live with his actions -- which will most likely haunt him for the rest of his life -- and should.

Another unarmed black teen killed by the police, by bullysonzx10r on Aug 18, 2014 15:46:18 GMT 1, that's murder. if you were just trying to stop someone, wouldn't you just shoot the person in the leg or somewhere else? None of us know what happened. Regardless this situation is shitty.
The only thing i would say is that during the scuffle in the actual car (Not sure why the officer would pull him into the car through the drivers window...) a gun was fired. Now, if that was the victim reaching for the officer's gun, and getting a round off, that lets the officer know that this person is willing to, at the very least, try to reach for his firearm.
Now that the family hired coroner has said that he was shot all 6 times in the front of his body. Regardless if you agree with the officer or not, and regardless if he should be put on leave, or anything else... Think about it from his perspective. At the very least, this person is coming back towards you (Per a clip found here: clashdaily.com/2014/08/new-evidence-eye-witness-mike-brown-shooting-states-brown-doubled-back-toward-police/) and if he overpowers you, he has already gone for your gun, and will potentially do that again. At the worst, he has a gun, and it was his gun that fired while in the car.
These situations are never easy. The officer will live with taking a life for the rest of his. If you love the police or hate them, the officer didn't wake up that morning itching to kill someone.
With all that being said -- If I was a 15-30 year old black person in America... I wouldn't feel comfortable around the police.

Please report this ebay listing..., by bullysonzx10r on Jul 25, 2014 17:25:25 GMT 1, Nosnereb isn't trying to do anything but protect someone who might buy this print, when the seller potentially doesn't have the print, since he stole the picture for the listing.
I don't think this needs to be a huge debate. Nosnereb is just trying to be a good guy and potentially protect a buyer who might get screwed...

Preserving your art, by bullysonzx10r on Jul 25, 2014 17:16:55 GMT 1, I just bought mine at an art shop in upstate NY.
I know amazon has some decent deals, and you could probably find one in NYC at one of the shops down their as well. It might be closer to $100-$120, but it's worth it. I literally had a run of 8 different prints that I really liked and wanted come up in probably a little over a month, and I wasn't in a position to get them all framed right when they arrived, it saved me a lot of hassle.

Preserving your art, by bullysonzx10r on Jul 25, 2014 17:05:13 GMT 1, Definitely go out and grab a flat file/ portfolio. I picked up one that holds up to a 40x60 print. I think I bought it for 60-70$? Aside from that, grab two large pieces of acid free foam board and buy some acid free sleeves. Anything you don't frame, flatten out for a day or two, put it in a sleeve, place between the two foam boards, tape them shut and flat, and put it in the flat file.
You'll understand how much of a pain in the ass it is to flatten a print out if you ever go to get it floated and have had it in the tube for months.
Definitely go out and grab a flat file/ portfolio. I picked up one that holds up to a 40x60 print. I think I bought it for 60-70$?
