Shepard Fairey + The Most Fan Friendly Artist?, by AoT Framing on Jan 8, 2007 14:49:47 GMT 1, good luck to them (and think of the liles ;D ) but to me (as a customer) after over 50 emails, some phone calls to LA, and 4 months of hassle, I got peace fingers, which is so so poor. I presumed it would be a print done especially for the people treated so shoddily. or at least a different version of an existing print if shep was so busy churning out his next Tuesday print. Think yourself lucky, I sent about the same amount of emails, and eventually after 6 months I got my money refunded, with no free print, no explanation, I'm just grateful I got my cash back. Obviously would never order from them again, however duckwaddles provide a prompt & reliable service Should he have taken a pole to see which piece he should give away for free? I really like Peace Fingers as do alot of folks. This image (in a special color) was actually also what he gave away to 100 or so friends and family at Christmas, so he must like it too.

Shepard Fairey + The Most Fan Friendly Artist?, by AoT Framing on Nov 21, 2006 11:21:21 GMT 1, I guess I'll order another print from then just to see if then send it as an artist proof. Maybe that is how they are rewarding their customers, not with free prints, but more costly ones at no extra charge. Problem is I don't want anything off the site right now. I sent over 30 emails, eventually bought a AP peace revolution woman from artrepublic for ยฃ60 (about 4 times the price from obey site) ordered prints in June, received email 2 days ago saying they'll be in touch to refund my money soon, hardly rewarding for the amount of time I've waited. I wouldn't risk ordering anything from then again

Shepard Fairey + The Most Fan Friendly Artist?, by AoT Framing on Aug 30, 2006 10:35:00 GMT 1, everyone else recommends ordering via www.duckywaddles.com/quote - "great service, great guy...... " I've ordered one - will let you know how I get on. as long as they aren't sold out at Obey they charge the same price ($30). It's only when they sell out at Obey that they seem to jack the prices up ludicrously.... they must be the US equivalent of Art Republic ;D ;D Well I think we're all aware that Obey are a rip off and just nick your cash. I'm going to go to Newcastle next month (Spank the Monkey) where I notice Shep is exhibiting. I intend to give him a piece of my mind and demand some prints/money back! Perhaps I should collate all your emails, work out which prints you're all owed, get the prints and send them to you. I even sent these guys an email to offer UK distribution/wholesale and increase their sales, but of course had frig all response. Email: mark@brightonelectric.co.uk with print description and I'll see what I can do......

Shepard Fairey + The Most Fan Friendly Artist?, by AoT Framing on Aug 23, 2006 12:35:31 GMT 1, I want to do something about obey, They're commiting fraud and getting away with it. I'm so frustrated as I've sent them dozens of emails, phoned them loads of times but they just ignore all correspondence. If I lived In the US I 'd track down these fuckers and slap em. I'm curious to find out who else has been ripped off and had money stolen. If these fuckers ever do a show in the UK I'm gonna just go and nick their work, they owe me!

Shepard Fairey + The Most Fan Friendly Artist?, by AoT Framing on Aug 14, 2006 9:43:28 GMT 1, I'm thinking of ordering from Duckywaddles. I just feel cheated that I lost $66 because obey won't ever return emails/phonecalls or more importantly send out an order. By the time you realise you're not getting your prints, it's too late for paypal to intervene. I guess they make a hell of a lot of money by just ripping everyone off. Whatever you do, DO NOT ORDER FROM OBEY, YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY!!

Shepard Fairey + The Most Fan Friendly Artist?, by AoT Framing on Jul 6, 2006 12:15:50 GMT 1, I too have had the misfortune of ordering a couple of prints from Obey. Money was taken out of my account over a month ago, my emails went unanswered and now I will be seeking a refund. I read the thread about them being hardworking and all, but don't really buy that excuse. If they're taking the cash, then they need to send someone to a post office once in a while. But for now, I'd avoid them like the plague and order from a different outlet. Shame really as I'm sure they'd sell a lot of work if they delivered.

Next to sell out?, by AoT Framing on Aug 24, 2006 18:01:53 GMT 1, I reckon it may well be Antony Micallef. "save" sold out in a couple of weeks. I bought Giant Freak off of eyestorm.co.uk and although expensive at ยฃ350, it's limited to 95 and is amazing!

Should POW undertake a print cull? , by AoT Framing on Nov 8, 2006 10:05:55 GMT 1, Agreed, start buying Faile, Micallef. However I used to have a record label and signed a band called Belle and Sebastian, but couldn't get anyone else interested in my other band - Snow Patrol. They've done ok now tho!! did you run Jeepster ? Yep that was me. Have a new label now with a band called Elle Milano, check out myspace.com/ellemilano

Should POW undertake a print cull? , by AoT Framing on Nov 7, 2006 12:31:44 GMT 1, I've got, and had, quite a lot of Cauty's stuff and have sold a few pieces on obey ebay. I do really like his stuff and there is a small thriving market and I do really like what he is doing. I, however really like the lithograph as an art form and POW has done justice to that buy making the art affordable and within reach. The Banksy stuff has gone a bit nuts but it's also a great feeling to have backed a winning horse. The attention he's bringing to the site can only push some of the other artists to the forefront and, like a good record lable, attract others. Agreed, start buying Faile, Micallef. Should POW undertake a print cull? , by AoT Framing on Nov 7, 2006 12:28:24 GMT 1, Do you mean the unlimited runs? They are still quality lithographs as opposed to inkjet prints. I take it all back - just looked at POW's unlimited prints. David Shrigleys "Time to choose" is now SOLD OUT. Not my cup of tea really... Anyone a Shrigley fan? I think Really Bad is a classic, pity they're unlimited but a great print nevertheless.

do we have a 'go live' date for this new website?, by AoT Framing on May 16, 2006 17:19:21 GMT 1, It's a bit scary that nearly 1500 people have viewed this topic, if they all want signed banksys i'll end up having to spend ยฃ400+ on ebay.
I so far have only managed to get one banksy signed print (j+j) from POW . The signed ones seem to be sold out long before going on their website. You're not wrong about the ยฃ400 +on ebay either. It just seems unfair that when I have bought off ebay at that price and more, it's usually from sellers who have at least half a dozen copies.

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by AoT Framing on Apr 19, 2006 17:27:55 GMT 1, Phew, those comments make me feel so much better. It was me who bought the print! I deliberated for days whilst bidding on this and lost a lot of sleep in the process. Eventually it was down to me and one other bidder who was an American. My logic was that I didn't want the print to leave the uk and i didn't want it to go to a bidder who'd recently bought a "journey" album (boring mor band from the 80's) I have no intention of reselling this print and absolutely love this image. I'd never seen a signed one before and realised this might have been my last chance to buy one before the prices went even higher. ( tomtom, lazinc etc) Luckily for the first time in years I had the cash to purchase it. I'm now retiring from bidding on ebay as I have all my favourite banksy's - Barcode, Golf Sale, CND, J&J, Get Out, Girl Balloon, Napalm. Unbelievably I was offered Laugh Now when it came out from Art Republic a couple of years ago, but didn't have the ยฃ75. This year I've cancelled a holiday....to buy a monkey print, i must be insane!

Banksy โข Four Soup Cans, by AoT Framing on Aug 26, 2006 15:34:52 GMT 1, It may be just me, or is having Tesco Value meal soup cans on my wall unappealing? I get the link to the famous artist but it looks cr4p in my opinion, why not buy the poster and cut 4 out for ยฃ5 and colour there tops in gold, real value? I agree, or go to tesco's and buy the soups at 25p? each and soak off the labels and stick em on paper. Either way, these are the most boring prints to date Tesco's are eating up the country with their constant expansion plans and unethical practices, driving farmers/local suppliers to suicide in some cases. read (shopped/not on the label) and should be boycotted at all costs. I bloody hate these chains (Asda, McD, Starbucks, Gap, Nike, etc) and dream of a day when we start living the "Good Life", eating decent food and not been sold their substandard shit. 4k to be reminded of these monsters, no thanks, what next Big Mac prints?

Banksy Paris Hilton CD, by AoT Framing on Sept 2, 2006 12:28:43 GMT 1, imagine my surprise when I saw this on the local rags website! these must be a serious collectors item? All stores have removed them! - www.theargus.co.uk/display.var.904874.0.graffiti_artist_goes_to_town_on_paris.php
