I reckon it'll hit 3k! These edition sizes are so rare and more importantly are fantastic prints.

Why are so many people selling thier Micallef's?, by AoT Framing on Jan 3, 2008 19:06:09 GMT 1, I have kept my shibuya crossing and giant freak, they are framed and on the wall and look great together. I think most of his charcoal prints are wonderful. I too have Giant Freak and absolutely love it. I have it next to Laugh Now, Barcode and GWB. More people discuss and adore this print than any of my banksys!

Price Ceiling on the Horizon?, by AoT Framing on Sept 11, 2006 12:07:48 GMT 1, but the US loves to make icons of people - so if banksy don't want to be known then that's f**ked. i personally don't buy the idea that the LA show will make he prints rise in price again - i think they are reaching ceiling already, or about to. when you can pick up a Hirst, a Murakami etc for the same or half the price you have to question the steep rise we've had recently.. as it is steep, worryingly so. Grin Reaper non seller a month a go for £750, now 4 go in a weekend for £1500... inflation like Mexico! I disagree about the print prices, I reckon they will go up and up. New fans are coming on board all the time and there are only a limited amount of prints. I can easily see prints such as GWB unsigned passing the 2k mark by christmas. It's just a question of supply and demand. And I have to say I'd much rather have a banksy than a dotty print by Hirst or a child like drawing by Murakami on my wall. If the US won't recognise banksy as an icon because he doesn't have his mug everywhere, then so be it, I'm sure he'll do ok with us limeys and the r.o.w. Fortunately I have all the Banksy's I want, but I do agree that if I was a new collector, then I would be a tad disappointed that I'd have to spend a small fortune acquiring his work. If you want affordable art from up and coming artists then you'd be better off buying Micallef of Faile..

Originals, by AoT Framing on Sept 5, 2006 17:45:23 GMT 1, I thought it would good to see what other people have in their collection of originals. I am not particularly proud of this and I do stress that I do not make a habit of it but I picked up this one at Glastonbury a few years ago. It was hanging on the side of the VIP Area of the dance tent and after a Orbital on the last night and a few shandies I woke up with it in my tent... What do you reckon?! I reckon you should put it on ebay and sell it! If a Paris Hilton cd is reaching what it is, then I'm sure you could do very well indeed. After spending £258 for a charity ticket at glasto last year, caked in crap, losing two pairs of shoes/tent/friends and missing most of the good bands whilst it poured down, I think you had a good result. If only I'd nicked those shark fins....

4k soup cans sold out!, by AoT Framing on Aug 30, 2006 12:58:47 GMT 1, How much do you reckon the grey ones will be in gallerys for? Will they top Kates? I'm sittting here debating whether to buy a soup can for 3k + vat purely as an investment and feel annoyed with myself for even considering it as I'm not particually fond of the image. I'm trying to justify mentally that it would go towards offsetting some of the costs of the prints I've bought before. Is it just me or has anyone else found themselves in this ridiculous postion? aaaaaarggghhh. I guess they'll be sold out by next week and would have doubled in value by christmas. mmmm. I used to be indecisive, but I'm not so sure now....

STILL LOOKING..., by AoT Framing on Oct 5, 2006 16:59:59 GMT 1, Still looking to purchase a Signed 'Laugh Now' from another collector!!! Use the money to buy even more prints, upgrade to more expensive ones, or pay for expenses in your life. Can pay immediately. I'm close (alright, full-blown) to obsessive on obtaining to hang in my home. An unsigned LN can be bought off ebay btwn 1700-1800 mark, the signed one's which seem to be very rare (150) will go for at least double that, if I was you I'd buy unsigned while you can, christmas is not far off and more ebayers will be looking for presents for spouses etc and I'm sure prices will rise again, you could also resell if you found a signed one. Even your unsigned version will only go up in value, what are you waiting for...?

Insurance, by AoT Framing on Nov 7, 2006 12:06:39 GMT 1, Not the most exciting question that's ever been asked here but.... does everyone here insure their prints? Do you just put it onto your contents policy or do you take out a specific one? Also, how do you value your print? I've got a Christ with shopping bags and to be honest I'm not really sure how much its worth, do you just go with the last price you saw on ebay or what it would cost to replace(but then its not like you see many of these around)? With most insurers you can take out a specific one. Usually for prints over £1500. (which is pretty much most of them now) Christ with Shopping Bags has to be worth 5k + I've reinsured a couple of times as prices have risen. Usually they'll just ask for artists name and description of print. Hope that helps

New Banksy Prints..., by AoT Framing on Sept 26, 2006 19:53:30 GMT 1, Nope - and he hasn't returned emails from a few members. I would be cautious until more information is available. Hi Nu BTW I've been offered 2 of the 6 prints from the us for $3000. Although expensive @ approx £750 each, I'm just worried that if I don't buy them I may miss out altogether if they're not released in the uk. However, if pow do sell them for £250ish, I could get all 6 as opposed to just 2 for the same cash. mmmm anyone heard for sure that they'll be eventually available in the uk?

Do girls like Banksy? , by AoT Framing on Sept 5, 2006 18:18:34 GMT 1, Apart from GWB my girlfriend dislkes every banksy print I own. We're due to have a baby next month and my suggestion of having J&J and Napalm in the nursery didn't go down at all well! She thinks my BME is crap, Laugh/Golf/CND/Get Out/I fought, pointless but sort of likes Barcode. Ironically the first print I bought was GWB for her christmas present which led to my collecting. I now cannot believe that I actually argued with Artrepublic over how simple a print it was for the £350 price tag, saying it would have only taken a few seconds to make.... Now I have to put all my collection in one room, which sort of makes it like a banksy shrine which is a bit weird. Anyone else found themselves arguing with their partner to hang their prints?
