Banksy Tree Mural โข North London, by mojo on Apr 15, 2024 17:51:30 GMT 1, I doubt he intentionally underestimated the demand, maybe it would have been better to stick to 50 hand sprayed followed by a release of say 100 signed 4 colour screen prints? I'm sure with the support of Joe Lycett's socails he'd definitely be able to sell them, he could even use some red glitter paint for the shoes?...Go Dion there's still time, and if you don't have access to a print studio or know how to screen print find someone that does.

B&M are at it nowโฆ, by mojo on Apr 14, 2024 18:23:13 GMT 1, Looks like itโs licensed from Full Colour Black again. Iโd love to know how much theyโve scammed these companies out of. Since FCB insist on using Shotgun Panda on their rip off merch perhaps they'd like to buy the canvas I have of it (currently wedged into a cupboard and purchased from Oxfam for a fiver) for 5 million quid?

David Shrigley Sale at Third Drawer Down, by mojo on Apr 11, 2024 15:23:29 GMT 1, Decent discounts on their UK, Australian and USA websites. Items and prices vary wildly across the three sites, I picked these up from the UK site...
THANKS! I just went on a frenzied shopping spree, I didn't know quite how much I needed an egg cup in the shape of foot up until now.

Leo Boyd ๐ฌ๐ง Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by mojo on Apr 2, 2024 20:02:24 GMT 1, Congratulations on what seems like a fun feature. Some feedback and comments regarding the above photos and text, whether to be taken on board or dismissed: 1. There is a risk of unintentionally coming across as a bit narcissistic, given the number of selfโportraits in your studio. 2. Minor typo corrections: (i) Scott (not "Scot") McCloud; and (ii) query whether the McCloud book referred to should instead be, Understanding Comics: The Invisible Art (1993). 3. Along with other notable figures including Art Spiegelman and Matt Groening, Susan Kare has also paid tribute to McCloud. If interested, check out this 2018 talk by Kare at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C., especially from 10:49โ12:45: Thank you! I hadn't time to do a spell check before rushing this out for April1st Thanks for the Mccloud video. I'll give that a watch tomorrow. HaHa I sussed it was an April fool...but only because I tried to order one

Banksy Tree Mural โข North London, by mojo on Mar 28, 2024 15:30:04 GMT 1, link"Known as the โconsentโ defence, it allowed defendants on trial for criminal damage to argue that they honestly believed the owner of the property targeted would have consented if they had known of the damage and its circumstances." Thanks for this. I wasn't aware. Very worrying development and really goes to show the sort of country we're living in at the moment. And it won't be reinstated by this sham of a Labour party we've got, pretending to be an opposition party. Just my interpretation although would fit in with the timing of it appearing and encompass environmental issues as well as the removal of our collective human rights to protest against issues such as the slaughter of 35,000 innocent Palestinians, Putins invasion of Ukraine, the ongoing Brexit disaster, disgusting pollluted rivers & sea's, the ongoing privatisation of the NHS, the demonisation of 'the poor' and the general shit show the Tory Government have inflicted for the past 14 years. IMO the Labour Party couldn't possibly do any worse, even if they tried. If we don't get Labour we get 5 more years of this crap.

Banksy Tree Mural โข North London, by mojo on Mar 28, 2024 1:49:47 GMT 1, The continuing saga of 'The (Consent) Tree & (de)fence'.
The consent defence in UK law was removed by the Tory Government a few hours after Banksy painted it. By adding perspex and a council fence, despite how shit it looks, is in effect adding to taking the piss out of this new Tory law. It appears that this piece of 'criminal damage' is very welcome by the owners of the building, Islington Council, local residents and thousands of visitors. link

Banksy Tree Mural โข North London, by mojo on Mar 24, 2024 14:10:52 GMT 1, Is it meโฆor is everyone missing the meaning of this work. Quite a few saying it is average but I think there is a lot more to this piece and it is political. I have read a few newspaper articles with experts proclaiming it is about looking after nature and ecology. Right, so you went to art school/ studied history of art to spout that generic rubbish. My thoughts: 1.) banksy has done numerous art works and exhibitions on the West Bank and in Bethlehem. Wall and peace, walled off Astoria. We know his position on the region. 2.) where is the art? Finsbury Park. Large Muslim community and known for Finsbury Park mosque. 3.) to me the tree looks like a menorah. 4.) Green is the colour of Palestine Personally, I think this piece is about juxtaposing one on the other and co-existence and showing support for Palestine. My argument above doesnโt really explain what the character in the piece is doing but I am pretty sure there is more meaning to this than just painting the leaves back on a pollarded tree. Interesting interpretation, I suppose like beauty art is in the eye of the beholder. I'm more inclined to link it to the fact that a few hours after it was painted one of the last legal lines of defence for climate protesters that may have damaged property, namely the beliefs of a defendant, were removed from UK Law despite said beliefs being based on fact and reality. link

Banksy Tree Mural โข North London, by mojo on Mar 23, 2024 17:20:00 GMT 1, Oddly enough it's been really sunny all day then you posted this and the sky went slate grey and it's now pissing down. *correction its hailing down - proper hail stones. * Just for clarification I have no idea if that really is water soluble paint it just looks like it could be? *oh and the suns back out again now so maybe your dance worked for around half an hour. Please stop dancing I have to go out soon. Do you find it difficult to go over there to see what happened? ๐ It's about a 20 minute drive/cycle ride away. I might have a look next week as I'll be in the vicinity.

Banksy Tree Mural โข North London, by mojo on Mar 20, 2024 12:05:48 GMT 1, If the green is water soluble paint surely it is going to naturally disappear anyway over time? I'd just stick a bit of perspex over the figure, if so inclined.
It's probably someone that lives in the flats getting pissed off with all the visitors and attention they are suddenly getting? Looks like what's left of an old tin of white emulsion from under the sink.

Banksy Print, Canvas, WANTED, by mojo on Mar 11, 2024 14:57:29 GMT 1, Brexit? You mean the EU! Brexit was the action; the negative effects you may feel about this issue is down to the intransigence of a political dictatorship that purely wants to punish. Why do you think tractors and farmers are dumping shit outside their front doors? It's because they have had enough of their unelected shit and rules. And watch out for the eiDAS regs! ๐ So a group of disgruntled Brexit supporters are now using actual bullshit to spread their views...you really couldn't make it up.

More heat on Pest Control and Bankdy, by mojo on Mar 11, 2024 0:00:43 GMT 1, But they are 'doing the job' the job takes time. Think about it, 1000's of artworks spanning 25 years. I bet PC staff love coming on here to read about how shit they are at their jobs and how crap they all are for carrying out due diligence when authenticating the work that will later be sold for life changing amounts of cash by the people slagging them off. I'm sure many people on here think they could do it better, faster, smarter with an app thrown in but in reality don't have any experience of how the business actually operates. Point is they're doing the job really badly. Theres no excuse for not being able to authenticate works which have enough proof in place(which they have) or to deny coas because of some trumped up new policy they made up(which they have). There's no excuses for a lot of it. Other than too few inexperienced staff to cope. Of course the current staff has a big task, an impossible task for them it seems. Maybe get more staff for starters if volumes the big issue. These lawsuits are no longer out of public eye and being settled out of court. They're being aired out publicly in the papers. By ' by the people slagging them off.', do you mean the people that bought his works and helped put them in the position they're in now? Ie his supporters/fans/collectors? But you have to appreciate that any particular artwork could have gone through many private sales/dealerships/auctions/poker games/car boot sales/ estate sales without Banksy/PC being involved ...that's the rub and that's why it takes time to be able to comprehensibly piece it all together. It's just not as simple as is being implied and I don't think anyone is trying to be difficult its just the way it is.
