Phillips Art Auctions โข New York, Hong Kong & London, by mojo on Jun 1, 2024 17:47:16 GMT 1, I would say Banksy has done more to raise awareness of the plight of the Palestinian people for the past 20 years than any politician or others supposedly responsible for keeping International peace within the region. I would guess that the silence comes from a very deep place of respect and love for all those tens of thousands of innocent people that have lost their lives and the ongoing suffering of war within the region. It is incredibly humbling and demonstrates a level of intelligence and sensitivity rarely exhibited. Sometimes silence speaks louder than words...or pictures. The use of superlatives when it comes to Banksy's silence seems somewhat excessive. Yes, his commitment to creating awareness for the Palestinian cause is certainly admirable. But that it is โincredibly humble and demonstrates a level of intelligence and sensitivity rarely exhibitedโ is over the top ๐ Weโre talking banksy, an artist who has made his mark in the field of street art, yet just another human being who shits on a loo and pisses in the bushes Good to hear my language entertains you. You just carry on "shitting on a loo" and "pissing in bushes" and maybe leave nuance and all that thinking stuff to other people.

Phillips Art Auctions โข New York, Hong Kong & London, by mojo on Jun 1, 2024 17:44:43 GMT 1, ...... I can't believe you seriously think that. What is happening in Gaza does not need silence. It needs outrage and angry protests across the globe. When did silence ever achieve anything? Well, believe it since I'm perfectly at liberty to think whatever I want, as are you. You are also free to get as angry, outraged and protest to your hearts content. I notice you edited my post which kind of loses its context. Do you really believe that a comment from Banksy will end this war? I would imagine most people would already be able to interpret Banksy's thoughts and feelings about this war without having to spell it out. PEACE.

Phillips Art Auctions โข New York, Hong Kong & London, by mojo on Jun 1, 2024 14:50:54 GMT 1, The one caveat I would add is his deafening inactivity and the reason. Indeed. Considering all what's happening in Israel and Gaza at the moment, Bansky's total lack of activity is somewhat troubling. Is he ill perhaps, or too depressed to make art at the moment? I can't believe that Banksy is simply not interested. I would say Banksy has done more to raise awareness of the plight of the Palestinian people for the past 20 years than any politician or others supposedly responsible for keeping International peace within the region. Damien Hirst currency dating article , by mojo on May 23, 2024 12:03:40 GMT 1, I haven't read the article but my understanding re: editions is that it is dated to when the edition was released...when the idea/image was initially made into reality. Example - you want to publish a screen print but only have the means to make 50 of a 150 edition so you make 50 keep your screens and exact records of the paints used then once you need the other 100 you make them. You would continue the edition number from where you left off ie.51/150 and date them from when the edition was released otherwise you'd have people confused as to why there are different dates within the same edition of work. Why is that cheating anybody? You are buying an artwork concieved and created by the artist and/or assistants as part of an edition from when it was initially released. I've often heard people say they have a print from an edition of 10 but only 5 were ever produced as a way of making it more exclusive/rare but in reality those other 5 could be made at a later date as they are part of an edition. With screen prints it depends on if the original screens were kept. If you are using new screens then the image wouldn't be identical and therefore you would start a new edition. I don't see what all the fuss is about, that's how editions work in my experience.

Recommended Art Books, by mojo on May 20, 2024 18:21:19 GMT 1, The Phlegm 'Don't Panic' book of lockdown postcards is just beautiful. He captures all the crazy, scary, wonderful, happy, sad and odd moments we all encountered during lockdown perfectly. The Shrigley is pure bonkers and everyone should read it. This is bobblehead, a tiny Bob Ross complete with easel and flip book of paintings. When you press the button he talks. He's amazing.

Roy Lichtenstein - Sunrise, by mojo on May 20, 2024 17:05:23 GMT 1, Roy Lichtenstein - Sunrise (1965) Auction provenance From an unknown edition. Signed lower right Image 44 x 59 cm ยฃ7,000 Condition - Like many of these, it is faded from sun damage. OMGosh...I love this...and signed! I'll start saving just in case you don't sell it straight away. I'm slightly obsessed with Lichtenstein's suns (I paint/print my own versions, as per avatar). Great to see a 'real' one.

MissMe ๐บ๐ธ New Print Release โข Exhibition News, by mojo on Apr 30, 2024 22:50:47 GMT 1, This woman is to feminism as what Josef Fritzl is to parenting. Complains about the male gaze while simultaneously flashing her cunt at every opportunity. There's a film called 'Fly' at the Yoko Ono exhibition. A fly crawls all over a naked women, funny thing was I was grossed out by the fly but the male friend I was with was uncomfortable that he'd been 'forced' to look at a vagene. Weird since most of the human race came out of one. They sell these in the gift shop if you're interested? How come you can't write va***a on here without it getting edited. Weird.

New Yoko Ono release, by mojo on Apr 29, 2024 15:11:06 GMT 1, Just got back from the Yoko Ono Show at The Tate, really interesting with lots of interactive work to play with. Plenty of films and audio to show the more conceptional work, photographs and some excellent small dot drawings and fun instructions. Left a few wishes on the tree, some scribbles and a hair on the nail board. Check out the "Not 10 Foot" tag in the Add Colour (refugee boat) room.

What Music are you listening to at the moment ?, by mojo on Apr 26, 2024 15:26:15 GMT 1, Big fan of Snapped Ankles - if youโve not had the chance to see them live, I really recommend it. Me too and each time I see them they get better and better. First time was by happy accident at the Moth Club in Hackney ...the drummer was in the middle of the audience draped in full camo leaf. Whenever I listen to them on you tube PWEI & The Fall enter the feed...which is a very good look IMO.

Banksy - I Fought The Law Signed 11/150 For Sale, by mojo on Apr 26, 2024 14:39:15 GMT 1, I just wanted to take this opportunity to express that I'm not a fan of memes, most are the aesthetic equivalent of a moronic stranger behind a keyboard taking a stinking nasty shit into the brain of anyone with even a shred of creativity and imagination but this vacuous ugly offering really excels at lowering the tone on this forum to unprecedented new levels of dumb, lazy and idiotic skullduggery. It's not even funny. Pathetic. Time to use the block button...bye bye. So you on n art forum thatโs discussing art and an artist and you chime in that you hate memes. And cats is asking if Iโm ok? Somebody delete his account. I'm sorry you've lost me? I really don't understand what you're saying. Memes are not art particularly the one I'm responding to. And you want my account deleted? I'm a her not a his by the way.

Banksy Tree Mural โข North London, by mojo on Apr 15, 2024 17:51:30 GMT 1, I doubt he intentionally underestimated the demand, maybe it would have been better to stick to 50 hand sprayed followed by a release of say 100 signed 4 colour screen prints? I'm sure with the support of Joe Lycett's socails he'd definitely be able to sell them, he could even use some red glitter paint for the shoes?...Go Dion there's still time, and if you don't have access to a print studio or know how to screen print find someone that does.

B&M are at it nowโฆ, by mojo on Apr 14, 2024 18:23:13 GMT 1, Looks like itโs licensed from Full Colour Black again. Iโd love to know how much theyโve scammed these companies out of. Since FCB insist on using Shotgun Panda on their rip off merch perhaps they'd like to buy the canvas I have of it (currently wedged into a cupboard and purchased from Oxfam for a fiver) for 5 million quid?

David Shrigley Sale at Third Drawer Down, by mojo on Apr 11, 2024 15:23:29 GMT 1, Decent discounts on their UK, Australian and USA websites. Items and prices vary wildly across the three sites, I picked these up from the UK site...
THANKS! I just went on a frenzied shopping spree, I didn't know quite how much I needed an egg cup in the shape of foot up until now.
