Mr Doodle 🇬🇧 Print Release • Show News • Art For Sale, by settingson on Jul 6, 2020 19:22:53 GMT 1, The corner of the image shows 1/100. Not sure whats that about. Probably means someone got the details on the website wrong and a vast amount of refunds will follow once it's noticed!! To be fair, I hope not for those that really wanted it. Saw it when there were 62 available but couldn't bring myself to spend that type of cash at the moment on something I knew so little about. Have a difficult enough time doing that on things I know and really like!! Nice of FreeRange to post though.

Hush FOR SALE on ebay, by settingson on Jul 2, 2020 10:42:30 GMT 1,
Saw that pop up last night. That’s a home made copy using a stencil from the stencil book that has Eine, Hush, Eelus and D’Face to name but a few in it. To be fair they do not look like they are pricing to rip people off although the wording is a little bit vague in acknowledging that fact that it’s home produced . Probably for for the time and effort involved it’s not overly priced as wall art but it’s not an original by Hush.

Anish Kapoor 🇮🇳 Sculpture • Exhibition News, by settingson on May 28, 2020 12:51:34 GMT 1, Looks like the Richard Wentworth is still available if interested. I'd set myself a reminder that this one was coming on sale today and just bought one. Thought it was a good reminder of the times we are going through now without it feeling too 'dated' in a few years time. Thought about getting the Hirst but wasn't really feeling it so I'm glad to have got this.

Peter Blake • Olympic Print, by settingson on Mar 17, 2020 13:11:51 GMT 1, To be honest, I like his "heart" much more than this. That said, its £3k (tiered pricing strikes again), so I will pass (might regret it) looks like it is still £1500 to me... Showing 1500 to me too. I like it but hesitant to spend at the moment.

Pejac • H2O Print, by settingson on Dec 5, 2019 20:33:23 GMT 1, Can't justify the expenditure on the full print even if I won but I like the image so I'm happy to enter and get the postcard. Actually I think if I were to spend on a full sized Pejac then this would be one of my first choices, think it's a well executed print. All down to personal taste though.

Beyond the streets - New York 2019, by settingson on Jun 21, 2019 17:16:38 GMT 1, I quite like the idea of a couple of these but would there be a problem with the shipping to the UK? I've seen mention a few times of problems with aerosol cans as they aren't accepted by the Royal Mail and I wouldn't fancy it getting to the UK and then being classed as undeliverable.

The record Store day 2019, by settingson on Apr 12, 2019 21:59:22 GMT 1, There are a few I would like but it's got a bit out of hand with all the re-releases and now seems more like a money making exercise for the record companies rather than a celebration of the vinyl itself. With the queues starting at the shops the night before I won't bother with it tomorrow and will gradually pick up the ones that I can after the rush, although tbh this year there isn't a lot I'm too keen to get hold of. The Specials and Idles I would like but will probably sell out quick but Graham Parker, The Redskins and The Alarm I'm sure I can pick up at a later date.

Peter Blake Mickey Mouse print, by settingson on Mar 1, 2019 16:03:25 GMT 1, I had 72 on my mobile and 142 on my PC a couple of minutes ago. It's a nice print, for 999 it's not really a bargain of the year. I think it's really well executed but on the fence as although I love the pop art background I'm not really a big Mickey Mouse fan. Other half is but I'm not feeling that generous!! Around £600 I might have bitten but just a bit rich for me.

Jamie Reid 🇬🇧 Sex Pistols • God Save the Queen • Collage, by settingson on Dec 9, 2018 21:03:45 GMT 1, I bought the last release and it arrived safely in what looks like identical packaging. Agreed!. Mine arrived perfectly and I reposted it and it still arrived safely. My packaging actually folded to a degree down the middle but as they list their prints as handled, possibly with marks and creases and basically 'it is as it is' when we send it out then I didn't feel any inclination to complain about it tbh. It was a great colourway so I was happy! Think these are again a great release at this price!

The *official* Dodgy ebay seller thread, by settingson on Dec 3, 2018 12:43:17 GMT 1, Ok so this went well....(not) (Geez.) Now I get a feel for this forum loud and clear. who controls it and who has really taken it over... Ok flipping a $50 print for 400 Euro only a few months later (without disclosing the original source was a museum shop and then the 8x margin/mark up)? you beauty! not dodgy at all? and a $120,000 USD standard size Brainwash!? yep "a bargain"! (Such artistic prowess?!) Thanks ebay. It's not an auction house anymore. It's become a sellers online store in disguise. Thanks to everyone for all the wonderful comments. If anyone else has got any better ideas how to stop scamming on ebay? Then Go for it. The platform is all yours... They get notified about it, but because it is seller biased, continue to do little about it... At least I tried I will be deleting this thread in a couple hours. Not worth the stress.. .... and like i said in the OP.. in my view. And I'm sticking with it.. Oh And good luck with ebay!!!!. You'll need it! All IMO!!!!! Cheers I understand your frustrations in trying to propose a useful resource in making people aware of ebay scammers and the ensuing comments but I think as I mentioned previously it basically needs to be an open/shut case of it being fake or a con. The Dismaland fakes ripping people off annoy me intensely and that is just outright fraud and I wish it could be stopped but it's not the same as a guy standing in a queue for 6 hours to get a print and then flipping it for a few hundred quid. There is such a grey area inbetween that it will always be open to interpretation. For some it's an opportunity to get something they missed and for others they feel ripped off. On here people are a bit more informed and can in the main spot the fakes or ask for advice but ask the question of mark up and how long you should own a print before selling it and you will get a continuum of different answers
I used to collect music related autographs of my favourite bands on my vinyl collection and would stand for hours to try and get something signed. Sometimes successful, sometimes not. Then the ebay guys got in on it and would turn up with their home printed 10 x 8 photos and if successful I would see them up on ebay for £40/£50 a throw. Initially it annoyed me but then when you consider the hours stood, the car parking fees, coffees, travel and no guarantee of success then at times I felt it wasn't such a bad deal. Nobody holds a gun to a purchasers head and at least when I saw them listed I knew people were getting authentic signatures and not someone sat at home faking them.
Ebay buyers can be their own worst enemy for poor research but maybe the buyers sometimes do have more money than sense as let's face it I've seen sales where I'm surprised by a genuine high sale price when if they scrolled down a page or two there's the same thing considerably cheaper.
I think it's still up there for a informative thread but really does just need to be aimed at the con artists, cheats and liars.

The *official* Dodgy ebay seller thread, by settingson on Dec 2, 2018 14:17:57 GMT 1, wappinghigh Don't really understand why you have called out some of the above sellers as “dodgy” just because you dont agree with their pricing or you believe the artist has “known history” and the last thing what on earth has quoting the size as “huge” and you not agreeing with it got to do with it? Not being awkward here just genuinely want to know why? If people are gonna be listing everything they don’t like here about ebay sellers this is going to be a pointless trawl through countless seemingly pointless posts. I thought it would just be strictly about proven scammers/fakers not the people you simply don't seem to agree with. Agree with this entirely! There's enough scammers selling Dismaland artefacts with fake COA, photocopied Di tenners, fake sales of same items etc and some craftily worded listings that try to con people outright that could be named and shamed and even examples where people have had valid cause for concern which would be much better highlighted in a thread like this. Think in the main people on here have a handle on the basic con artists but occasionally one of them ups their game and this would be the ideal place to question those listings. For people with $120000 to spend I would expect them to be sensible enough to shop around and take expert advice before passing over such sums. There's definitely a place on the board for a dedicated thread but I think it needs to be a bit more black/white on what's put up and not just a subjective view otherwise it will become a minefield of opinions and lose the simplicity that I think it best needs.

John Doe 🇬🇧 New Print Release • Street Art • For Sale, by settingson on Nov 30, 2018 23:15:41 GMT 1, Presume people have started receiving these now, would love to see some photos? Mine has arrived but got building work going on and serious dust so won't be opening yet (all my other art has moved out as well), interested to see how they turned out.
Mine arrived today, (Gold Leaf ) but think I'll just get it sent off for framing! Peered in the tube, all looks ok but that's about the limit of my investigation at the moment! Bit nervous about opening it out as and I don't have any cotton gloves knocking around and my usual flat surface is temporarily out out of action with other projects.

Harland Miller Books, by settingson on Nov 22, 2018 20:46:04 GMT 1, Been looking for a battered copy of ILG to take apart as can't bring myself to do that to a good copy so have been keeping an eye out on these. Would agree that the 'International Lonely Guy is in the £100 - £125 mark for a sale. The I'll Never Forget pops up less frequently and probably £125 - £150 as a fair price but less pricing history on that one to go on. Oooh, so what would my Never Forget signed/doodled book go for?
Think it's been ruined and you better sell it cheaply to me as I don't have that one! Can't value it as I imagine it's priceless to you though! I love that mug sketch, so simple but has such a fluidity to it.
Been looking for a battered copy of ILG to take apart as can't bring myself to do that to a good copy so have been keeping an eye out on these. NEW Shepard Fairey Print Release, by settingson on Nov 13, 2018 1:52:17 GMT 1, well what do you know, every cloud and all that .... so good of Obey to take care of us that were so sorely denied
Is that going to be offered up to those who got refunded? That would be pretty neat!

Limited Edtion art from Big Issue, by settingson on Nov 12, 2018 19:14:14 GMT 1, The signed Nick Smith ones are up now, a steal at £39 Think the Nick Smith designs looks good and are great as Christmas wrapping paper but not sure I would buy the signed one to put on the wall. Would be great for five minutes the first Christmas but it would then be like bringing out the same decorations every following year. Hoping the other half will be happy with the Eine wrap though! Resisted the signed sheet as the SEXY print is still available and I think I would prefer to pay the extra for the proper thing. The Shrigley was definitely the one to get signed but as noted unfortunately sold out now.
