Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by settingson on Sept 5, 2023 9:47:26 GMT 1, Thinking of getting a Border Force T Shirt- Anyone bought and can recommend how sizing falls on these for a 6ft male with a 42” chest. Usually a large but read they maybe come up small on the sizing but don’t want to get swamped by buying an XL. TIA

Banksy Show • Cut & Run • Glasgow , by settingson on Jul 5, 2023 7:23:21 GMT 1, Planning on driving up and staying overnight. Anyone used a decent hotel which easily avoids the LEZ or got any transport advice as my car is not compliant and I don't fancy a £60 quid fine each day. TIA Premierinn on Ballater Street will do the job. Typical of most Preminns in the city, clean and tidy, just across the river from city centre, 15 min walk max from museum, on site parking for £5 or £6 per night, its outside ULEZ Zone. Coming from south of city its a dawdle to find using Waze or Google Maps or Sat Nav but depending on age of your car / Satnav it might not have the newish / easiest motorway to get you to this hotel and u could end up in the ULEZ Zone. Appreciate that. Thanks. Driving up from the midlands so that’s a definite possibility. Usually use Waze so hopefully can master staying out of the ULEZ 👍

D*Face, Dan Baldwin, Dran, Martin Whatson, Prodigy, Euclide, by settingson on Jan 23, 2023 20:22:19 GMT 1, Take the one small step to facebook to the martin whatson collector group. These things have skyrocketed in value. You used to not be able to give 'em away, they're now trading over 5k USD. For love nor money I can't find a collectors group on there? Fans of Martin Whatson is the group name.. Hope that helps

Nick Smith 🇬🇧 Pixelated Art • Colour Swatches • New Print, by settingson on Feb 11, 2022 23:29:54 GMT 1, my mucus is up, i bet there’s a “phlegm” up there 2 somewhere 😅 i’m just getting 1 so if anybody else needs 1, lmk 💪🏻
Strangely the’Nurse’ that I got for the wife is next to yours 😂 Got the receipt but can’t remember how we got to see the ‘Pantone’ colour chip upon payment? Can anybody refresh my memory as I feel that I could see it via a link originally but have no recollection of how to see it now.
Overall a bit of fun at the time but even though my choice is in it I’m not sure how well the whole thing translates in print with such random text. Colourful but not sure that’s enough to make me purchase yet.

Mister Frameman • Mr Frameman, by settingson on Nov 21, 2021 23:56:42 GMT 1, Well that slipped under the radar. He used to post it on here. That always paid for a museum glass upgrade. i got a black friday email on monday saying that they limited the numbers of people who could get the 50% deal this year. The email contained a link to get a code but i didnt use it as nowt in the queue for framing. Think the 50% was to those with previous framing history with him and then the Black Friday 'open' offer will be for an additional 30% onto the value purchased ie. £100 becomes £130 credit. Always kept adding funds when these offers came so I'm in good credit at the moment as I haven't framed anything for a while. A nice position to be in but very little wall space to fill now and the decisions get harder!!

John Doe 🇬🇧 New Print Release • Street Art • For Sale, by settingson on Nov 12, 2021 21:42:58 GMT 1, Yes i got a Gold Moon, wanted the Gilty Pleasure Platinum but that sold out instantly. There are still prints available now Nice, I wanted the Lunacy that's no moon but that also sold out, managed to get Silver Moon to add to my collection, I've got just the place for it 🙂 Picked up a Lunacy (hat's no moon) so was pretty happy about that. Think he releases some great pieces and doesn't charge through the nose for it. Got some really nice little studies from him up on the wall and quite a few prints awaiting framing.

Framing "Climber" main edition, by settingson on Apr 29, 2021 21:31:25 GMT 1, Mine's a white frame float as well, although it does have some Whatson spacers around it. White works well for it I think. My OSS is framed the same so they match up nicely as a pair.

Tankpetrol print, by settingson on Jan 1, 2021 11:24:35 GMT 1, When I joined the forum about 6/7 years ago he had occasional mentions and I searched out some of his work because I really liked it. A lot of people seemed to appreciate his pieces but he never really got traction onto bigger things. The Montana 94 stencilled boxes are superb and I have 6 displayed up at home. Bought an original from Coach on here in those early days and that’s still on my wall as well. Will try and post some photos up later. Also took some pictures of his wall pieces in Manchester a few years ago so will try and dig them out as well. A small piece for sale on here that I was tempted to add to the collection but have resisted so far. Those early Montana pieces get so many comments from visitors and I just love them. At the price they sell at they’re absolute steals.

Takeru Amano 🇯🇵 Print Release • Show News • Art For Sale, by settingson on Dec 21, 2020 22:57:42 GMT 1, Thanks for that. Really appreciated. Have an unsigned edition of the yellow so have purchased to upgrade to a signed. Seen some nice doodles with the signature on some so fingers crossed. I don't know if you want to wait for the surprise but there is no doodles on the books signed. It cames in great protection.
I did message re potential doodles and they quickly replied and said these were just signed but I purchased anyway. I can then dismantle my unsigned copy for some small self mounted bathroom art!

Takeru Amano 🇯🇵 Print Release • Show News • Art For Sale, by settingson on Dec 10, 2020 10:50:16 GMT 1, Tried for the book with the signed cards but it was Japan only. Wondered if Waluso might have any for the forthcoming exhibition but they have said they won't. It does get annoying when you find it while there is still stock but they actually won't send it international. I love my Hush artwork but never been too much into the more simplified Japanese style but have taken a liking to this guy's work.

The £50 Art Thread, by settingson on Dec 3, 2020 14:10:22 GMT 1, Not really sure where to put this but as the majority are £50 here seemed appropriate. Some nice little Toaster originals just released on their webshop Thetoaster.co.uk Maybe a nice little Xmas gift for someone.

Harland Miller Poster f*ck dancing , by settingson on Oct 26, 2020 12:32:22 GMT 1, There was a guy on ebay about a year ago who sold enhanced digital prints of Harland Miller for about 3 days before I guess he got a cease and desist order. I ordered one for the fun of it before it got shut down as it was A3 size and about £10 delivered so I thought it was worth a go to see how 'enhanced' it was and if it could be a cheap addition to the bathroom wall. Arrived ok but a bit muted in colour and on a type of glossy photographic paper. Might be a similar thing to that? Like you I would have probably purchased myself for a few quid.

Nick Smith 🇬🇧 Pixelated Art • Colour Swatches • New Print, by settingson on Oct 22, 2020 18:48:46 GMT 1, They were £1000 unframed - £1500 framed with neon surround - edition of 12 each colour. They were only available to purchase at the show as they didn't want them going straight onto Ebay. Thanks for the pricing info. The small edition pumped the price up a little beyond what I was hoping though. I had no chance of travelling down to purchase in person so it softens the blow a little. Think the Pink was the pick of them though so congratulations on that.

Bought myself a Pink Haring Dog too:-) They look amazing in neon E-mailed them last night to try and find out the info on the fluoro dogs as I really liked them but got no reply. Do you mind me asking what price they were being sold at?

UK buyer looking for some Banksy bits.. , by settingson on Oct 19, 2020 15:00:52 GMT 1, So... Only right to keep yous all updated since you have all been good enough to comment and give some great advice.. Even sending me some links of bits for sale... Its very much appreciated. I now have 2 posters, the Palestine one and the trespass poster.. I have a bit of my original budget left.. And while the hotel visit is definately a great shout, and one we could look at when if it opens again... I'm thinking another piece. But after being totally drawn into this website and seeing some of the great pieces, I'm tempted to throw in a wild card for him... And move away from Banksy,, this one can't be more than 1k very very max... And hopefully a bit of a speculative buy... (I've had a couple of dm's of people saying I'm buying at highs price wise for Banksy, but I don't mind because I know he'll really appreciate them) any ideas please.. Think along the lines of. If you had 1000 to spend on something to enjoy but then in 10 years you had to sell it... Where would your money be spent... Don't say stocks n shares or savings. Think I would be careful depending on his circumstances of overdoing the poster/prints as from experience framed up properly they take up more space than you might anticipate. If he has his own house then great but if he's still at home and just the one room then space could an issue if anything like my lads. Also, remember framing costs as to frame to a decent standard are going to cost you a few hundred pounds as well. Think the Banksy route is probably the most solid hope for investment in 10 years but seeing as you have those covered my temptation would be a decent watch that is of enough value and quality to maybe appreciate over time but could also be worn regular enough to make it practical. If however it's definitely prints you are after my lads are in their late teens and they like the Martin Whatson's I have but his prices have jumped recently and it may be a bit of a bubble that doesn't last but who knows! Anything on his hobbies that you could try and relate the actual picture to?

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by settingson on Oct 13, 2020 13:00:41 GMT 1, Really liked the poster and wanted one of these at the time but they wouldn't send one of them out to me even with another purchase that I was making from them which I thought was a bit harsh. If you did consider splitting I would definitely like one. Toying with the idea of buying 10 and splitting but in the UK so the costs add up and a bit risky.

Stik Hackney Holding Hands Poster, by settingson on Sept 25, 2020 14:46:33 GMT 1, User name yakoobovsky on eBay. Turned up with the paper too which wasn’t photographed or in the discription Risked it from him as well. Glad it’s ok. Bought one from the same buyer and asked him if paper was included and he said yes. Asked him to send it with some cardboard stiffening and warned him that it might be worth packing any others well to save him stress further down the line from OCD collectors. It arrived today, sent First Class, with newspaper and poster packed between cardboard. Couldn't fault him!

Banksy 'Glory' original alt version?, by settingson on Sept 13, 2020 16:24:38 GMT 1, Hi all, Thought I’d share a recent find with you and, as the most pedantic bunch of Banksy goons, get your opinion! So, for starters this came from ebay. Yes I know, groan, not another etc etc, but hear me out. I bought this for £200 just because it seemed interesting and slightly odd. The seller claimed it was ‘found’ by some bins in East London several years ago. (As they always do, just like everyone of those found in Dismaland or rescued from a skip)So, many of you will know the original of this Banksy piece, Glory. Sold last by Christie’s in 2013 for a mere £70,875. Not his best work IMO, but hey, interesting nonetheless. So, the large size version is here (https://www.christies.com/img/LotImages/2013/CKS/2013_CKS_01135_0381_000(banksy_glory011356).jpg) if you care to compare, however I have done so below. Firstly, here’s the one I bought. Ok, so the reason that this seemed interesting is, firstly, why someone would bother to fake it? (to make money passing it off as a Banksy to someone who is prepared to take a punt that it might be!!) Everyone with access to a computer and half a brain can figure out it was sold by a decent auction house, and is now either hanging on the wall of a lovely house or wrapped up and hidden in a bank vault somewhere. So, why bother? (Because people with both less than or even more than half a brain still have money to gamble with!) You’re never going to fool someone into spending a lot on it, because they’ll do some research (most likely). So, to go to all the trouble of copying it, finding exactly the same frame, (these styles of prints when popular were basically produced with that type of frame and sold from galleries so not too much effort on that score) and faking it in general just seems a bit of a low value effort. Secondly, the version I have is different to the original, so again, if you were going to fake it, why make it different? (Who said they weren't trying to get it right but couldn't quite get it exact.) Here are some comparison images between the original and mine. I guess one reason is that someone like me might buy it, think it was some kind of pre-production effort and write about it on an urban art forum, but again for £200 it seems an awful lot of work. (£180 more than they probably paid for it) There are plenty more differences if you look, well, not even that closely. Lots of bits on mine where it looks like the paint has been brushed and filled in on top. You might think that the differences are just someone embellishing a print with extras, and it certainly looks like that in places, but my version actually has parts (such as the hook of the G and the intersection of the R) where you can see the print below, whereas on the original you cant. This would suggest that its not done over the top of a copy, as you wouldn’t be able to see those parts. It’s possible that someone found the original Spitfire print, not hard, and did it from scratch, but to get it so similar is pretty impressive, no? (Agreed, It's a pretty good effort.) I’ve taken my version out of the frame to examine more closely, and it’s hard to tell whether it’s paint or print, but looks in places definitely like paint. There are also some scratches bottom centre and right that appear on the original and not on mine, which would again suggest it’s not a copy, see below The print itself is a fairly flimsy affair stuck onto some cardboard, which kind of suits Banksy’s style to my mind, but that’s just conjecture. The backing board is signed with what looks to me a pretty decent signature for the date, nice and fluid etc, plus the shadowed remnants of some other items having been sprayed on there. That’s nice, but if it’s just a pre-production version, or a test, or whatever, why sign it? ( I get a feeling you've answered your own question!)As we all know, without a COA it’s not a real piece, and even if this is real I doubt PC would certify it, so as not to detract from the original, but hey, seemed like an odd piece that didn’t have any immediate explanation as to its existence, so worth a punt for a few hundred £. Basically, it’s not as good as the original, but it’s both good enough to be maybe 95% similar yet different. Be interested to hear everyone else’s thoughts. Ta I think it's a fun piece to have and although I may appear a little sceptical in the comments above in red I reckon it's a pretty cool talking point when on the wall and not everyone could copy it that closely so I would appreciate it as that. Hey, WCP sells his copies regularly enough and if he did one like this with a frame he would probably charge more than £200 for it! Get it on the wall and enjoy it!
Hi all, Thought I’d share a recent find with you and, as the most pedantic bunch of Banksy goons, get your opinion! Roamcouch 🇯🇵 Ryo Ogawa • Ukiyo-e painter • Street Art, by settingson on Sept 10, 2020 19:06:20 GMT 1, Got totally confused with all the changes in the drop times etc. and then completely missed the last opportunity today. Shame as it's a print I really liked and definitely one that would have made the wall.

Sandra Chevrier and Shepard Fairey Collab, by settingson on Jul 17, 2020 19:43:49 GMT 1, Anybody got the last print? Statiopn16 Online store is a joke... 1hr 12min after the drop it keeps glitching giving "add to cart" option. It also sends me to the Paypal pay page. Then boom back to empty cart. Funny how Sandra said that they implemented "extra security". Yeah right. I found none up to the payment page. Forgot all about this until I saw the posts about 10 miniutes ago. I had exactly the same with 'add to cart' and then sold out. Kept it in the cart with Paypal payment option and after about 8 attempts it processed and gave me an order number. No doubt I'll get a due to a glitch cancellation email but there's at least hope!!!
