Faile FRAMED, by dwight on Mar 19, 2017 3:34:59 GMT 1, I have been looking over this thread. I do so wish I still owned this stencil. I hate that over the years I have had to sell art that I loved due to factors outside my control. I wonder whether the person I sold it to is still on here? @coach you may be in luck.. Look at this current auction I found: www.artsy.net/artwork/faile-my-story-savage-dreams-of-lies-and-lies

Faile Print, Canvas, WANTED, by dwight on Mar 18, 2017 16:26:10 GMT 1, I'm looking for Star Spangled Shadows. Have $โฌยฃ at hand and also some stuff for trade, if someone is interested - please drop me a PM. I'm located in good old Germany. It's insane what these cost now considering the size of the edition and original price of $500.

Banksy - The Walled Off Hotel โ
โ
โ
, by dwight on Mar 17, 2017 22:33:30 GMT 1, I know that the site suggests this hotel may stay open all year, but I speculate that June 30 will be the end. I think that there are a finite number of people who can go and have this experience, and I'm guessing that most have already booked. I expect there will be more cancellations than new bookings going forward. Not because it won't be a truly unique experience but because of the time, money, and advance planning required. I believe that Banksy would rather close it while it is in high demand than close it as bookings decline. Anyone else agree? (Or disagree?)

Faile โข Dog Prints, All Editions , by dwight on Oct 26, 2016 16:10:42 GMT 1, Interesting side note...the faile dog II on verso has sold. It was priced at $2500. I was thinking of purchasing, but looks like someone else snagged it.

Faile โข Dog Prints, All Editions , by dwight on Oct 25, 2016 22:31:54 GMT 1, Was thinking exactly what daveart said before I saw his comment. Personally, I think these are the most undervalued Faile prints in existence. I've picked up multiple copies from the II and ecru editions. Don't have a shimmering red though...
Kingz, can I have a look at the laz letter as well?

Bast/Walker/Penny/Mr Brainwash, by dwight on Oct 21, 2016 0:45:53 GMT 1, That bast is nice and at a fair price...I would've been surprised if it didn't sell. Bast is becoming a seller's market if you have nice works like this.

Kaws @ the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth, by dwight on Oct 20, 2016 22:26:25 GMT 1, There's no arguing that the Kaws show is amazing. I'm not really into the small toy art, but I'll probably sell both of my bffs to make the next payment on my Ryan Mrozowski painting. www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=ryan+mrozowski&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
FR & Cornish, what do you think about Mrozowski? Approved for grown men?

Kaws @ the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth, by dwight on Oct 20, 2016 21:53:27 GMT 1, The main buyers were commercial resellers in my opinion. They had cart loads of companions they were leaving with. However, I think they were only able to get 2 bffs per person. I really was surprised at how many people had flown in from nyc/la and driven up from Austin to wait in a line for this open edition and the limited edition plushes.

Kaws @ the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth, by dwight on Oct 20, 2016 21:28:43 GMT 1, I just got home from my trip to the modern gift shop. To summarize, the inventory available in the gift shop sold out. Mostly NY and LA buyers were at the front of the line. People said they had arrived to the parking lot at 1am. They purchased whole sets of companions (3 of each companion = 18 was the limit). The store had about 500 of the plush bffs and I think everyone bought their limit of 2. Untitled I arrived at 9:10am and the line was already pretty long. I didn't get to the front of the line until about 12:30. They ran out of companions before I got to the front, but I was able to get a couple of bffs. They were almost out though. Probably only had about 20 left when I got mine. The museum staff said they had 500 in the store. Plenty of books, totes, t-shirts remaining. I expect the open edition companions will be easily bought for at or near issue price...so it didn't really bother me.
There was one print that supposedly sold to someone in the line for $18k. I don't know about that since I think it was one of the recent pace prints. It was a real frenzy (or bun fight as some of you might say)...got pretty tense as people started realizing that they were running out. Someone tried to cut the line and got called out. Anyway, a lot of fun. I will be returning to see the show soon.

Help buying a Faile, by dwight on Sept 15, 2016 4:52:22 GMT 1, I just randomly checked eBay sales for Faile and there were some ridiculously good deals lately. A "Wrong end of the rainbow" went for $700! About 5 listings by the same seller... I certainly would've bought it had I known. I've been slacking on watching the bay, but that motivates me to get back to watching for Faile/Bast deals.

Faile "Almost Rapture" Print Release, by dwight on Jul 27, 2016 17:34:23 GMT 1, Feels like what people said about banksy before barely legal...."I just don't know man, all his stuff is the same".."I'm really more into X artist now".....only to completely reverse course to "I've followed him from the beginning!!!!"
Comparing Faile to Banksy is dumb. But comparing dumb people in similar circumstances works.

Faile "Almost Rapture" Print Release, by dwight on Jul 27, 2016 17:28:46 GMT 1, Thank you for your comment. sorry for the fans, but Faile should chase their dig and change their style. A bit boring at the end ( I think the same for other " print artists" but I won't make any polemic... Just saying, in fact .,, It looks like a collage of their well known images that people like. So faile are giving people what they want and it probably took about five minutes to make. 5 minutes for 23 screens?

Help anyone know of a good cheap container shipping from US , by dwight on Jun 30, 2016 0:46:41 GMT 1, What kind of container are you talking? Full standard size shipping container? As in a full 40 ft container? Or do you have a few large items you need shipped? In that case you need to get in touch with a Freight Forwarder in the area you are shipping from.

., by dwight on Jun 29, 2016 16:00:49 GMT 1, Foreman, I completely agree with you. I believe that is a more unique work than what I was referencing. I may have seen a different version of the six eyes where the paper was not distressed by the artist. I think it was actually navy blue at the Dec 2014 show at Castor. (still looking for a photo of the navy version I was referencing) Untitled by ffosterm, on Flickr Is this it? (Pic stolen from art collectorz) Yes, exactly the print I was thinking of. Thanks for posting.

Daniel Arsham ๐บ๐ธ New York โข Eroded Future Relic, by dwight on Jun 24, 2016 6:27:05 GMT 1, looks better than the previous two, the clock and tape were not the best choices imo. I am just a bit worried about the shipping charges... I'm more worried about the price. I'm guessing around $450 Same here...I think its the best of the last two, but I'll bet it is $450. If it is $300, I am definitely getting one. That's a pretty cool object for $300 even if it is from a large edition.

Pest Control COA โข Banksy Print Authentication, by dwight on Jun 24, 2016 6:02:05 GMT 1, PC will be around for a long time. They have a vested interest in keeping control of the number of prints in the marketplace. PC coa's create a finite number of each print and prevent degradation of the integrity of the market. If people thought that there were many indistinguishable fakes, it would hurt the secondary market for Banksy prints as well as indirectly hurt the market for any future works. PC inspires confidence for people to continue to buy Banksy prints which drives demand.
Otherwise, it's like buying Dali prints...no one will touch them because there are so many indistinguishable fakes so there is no market for the prints. It was very wise for Banksy to get the PC service going early so they could get ahead of duplicate numbers and fakes.
One additional point about getting your prints (especially older prints) authenticated sooner than later: multiples exist and I'd much prefer to have an unaltered print than one that has "DN" penciled in.

US banksy buyers, will there be a sale Friday?, by dwight on Jun 24, 2016 5:37:18 GMT 1, We're not yet seeing market losses that are so much greater than the largest single day drops experienced earlier this year so I'm not sure it's the "worldwide financial chaos" you are thinking...unless you are saying we were in worldwide financial chaos several times already this year here in the US... I do agree that it's quite surprising, and quite unprecedented. The UK economy is going to be pretty turbulent, but I don't imagine this will be anything worse than what's happened over the last 18 months in the energy sector. I'm very interested to watch this unfold...basically a huge currency war.

., by dwight on Jun 24, 2016 5:08:03 GMT 1, There's no such thing as a mint hand-finished Bรคst print. Sorry dude but not all Basts HF prints are damaged lol. I meant mint as in no damage. Times like these, I wish this board had a thumbs down button. Not sure where your getting your info but your all sorts of wrong. I mentioned that because EVERY print on ebay of his has had damage as of late that people are selling. So, I must have the holy grail then? Smh. I have one that is MINT. NO wringles or creases. NO edge issues, NO problems at all with it. You probably think he has no OGs MINT either right? From all the damaged prints I see for sale on ebay, it seems people do not take care of his work. I do not buy anything with print damages. I am not going to pay more money to have it restored. Might be just me but unless I got a HELL of a deal on a banksy or something then maybe it would be worth it. I've seen a lot of Bast works first hand and the majority of unique and semi-unique works on paper have what you are calling damage (curled paper, bent corners, pinholes in corners, paint saturation). I don't call it damage because it comes from his studio this way. You should go to Eric Firestone, Castor or Allouche and see some works coming direct from the artist. I have one where the entire back side is painted with a roller-applied coat of green paint which affects the texture of the paper on both sides. I have one that consists of a thick plastic media applied with a screen (very messy). There are much cleaner screen prints where the paper wasn't given such a rough treatment, but rough treatment that comes from the studio isn't damage. I saw these six eye prints in person at Castor and in that case, the paper was very mint (not hand finished). I wouldn't want one with a bent corner, but the more unique works (that I would prefer to own) have bent corners, creases, ripples and pinholes. How familiar are you with his body of work? Have you seen a large variety in person? I think you're talking about small run screen prints where others are thinking of unique and semi-unique works.
