Big and pink Harland (and other pieces), by Love Is In The Air on Dec 22, 2022 10:53:34 GMT 1, Great prints and great flooring! Really like the Hirst above the drinks trolley, that would be my favourite corner of that room for sure.

R.I.P TREVORM , by Love Is In The Air on Dec 1, 2022 10:55:49 GMT 1, I have just donated and by mentioning that here it will push this thread to the top again to hopefully raise a bit more.
Someone spoke on her about their correspondence with Trev which made me go back through some old texts we had sent. Negotiations with Trev were never a fraught business but could be drawn out over weeks and humour was guaranteed. At one stage of buying a print from him he would often say "I'll hold onto it I think" which meant you were too low.....raising the offer would then get you something back like "Isn't this fun!" or in one case for me "You need the rat" following by some rat emojis and a third text saying simply R A T I got the print in the end and it still hangs in my study where it is likely to stay a good while now to remind me of the lovely man.
Our friendship started when he read on the forum some years back I was a big Francis Bacon fan and he got in touch as he had two prints he had picked up as part of a large deal....they were framed and he didn't want them so he was literally giving them away to a good home. He reluctantly let me give him ยฃ100 when we met up but was just happy they were going to a good home.
Anyway, the raffle is a great idea and for a great cause, so please keep giving if you can. RIP Trev and do keep adding to the anecdotes as I love reading them and sure others do too. Cheers

R.I.P TREVORM , by Love Is In The Air on Nov 23, 2022 3:53:44 GMT 1, I met Trevor a couple of times as he would never post anything. First time when I got my Bast Micky from him I went to his office and he had a lovely collection of urban art on the walls and a few other interesting bits and bobs. Then he hand delivered my secret Santa a few years later and spent the next several years trying to buy my Barcode. A true Gentleman This sounds like the Trev I knew....often trying to prise a print from someone, no doubt in a playful or cheeky way. He would also occasionally sell a Banksy and then regret it and buy it back later because he missed it like a friend!
He took great joy in his collection and I know he loved seeing my face and my eyes looking stunned when he would pulled out some rare print he casually had under 10 other run-of-the-mill editions. No doubt others will have had similar experiences in SE London.

R.I.P TREVORM , by Love Is In The Air on Nov 22, 2022 19:05:53 GMT 1, Thanks for posting this Pidge but what sad, sad news to read.
Trev was a really great guy and one of the people I would count as a good friend I met through the forum. We did a few deals over the years and when I was living in South London and I would semi-regularly go and see him for a cuppa. He loved to chat about the forum, Banksy deals he had done over the years and also his need to "thin out his flat file". This was an ongoing problem a fair few people will have on here but in Trev's case he seemed to have bought a wide variety of urban artists over the years and no sooner would I buy the odd bit or he sell something on here then he would buy something new or get something framed. So like for many of us the issue never went away! I'm not sure he would have had it any other way.
He loved bargaining and haggling over a print but never in a serious way, always with a smile and a joke on text message and he seemed to enjoy my enthusiasm for building a collection which meant he was more than fair with his prices. He also introduced me to framers he had found and liked/recommended and highlighted other prints he thought were underrated and worth getting hold of. If he really liked a print and thought it was fantastic it would be typical Trev to buy a second or third copy of the print and frame it up for a family member or simply keep it in the flat file as the deal was "too good to be true" and so he had to buy it, even though he already had one on the wall (Micallef should feel his ears burrning at this point!).
I am probably rambling a bit, but often on the forum these days, deals are quick business-like transactions for good reason or prices are fiercely debated and it is all quite serious because of the sums involved. With Trev a deal was never really like that, it was tea and hob nobs first and then a chat and with any luck I would drive away with something decent, but if I didn't I would be back in a few months to look at something else he had remembered he had hidden under a dozen other prints!
I'm very sad I won't be having another tea with Trev and a natter, and will be supporting the raffle and hope others will too.
RIP Trev

Harland Miller โข Whats the Deal?, by Love Is In The Air on Oct 7, 2022 17:24:43 GMT 1, His work at its best for me sometimes makes you laugh and sometimes makes you think. Few quick examples off top of my head:
If Your Past Were On Fire Would You Go Back To Save It (2016) - this one stuck with me for a while and made me think of the highlights of my life and some of the real low points and the idea of erasing them all. I would lose some great memories but also erase things I am perhaps ashamed or embarrassed of. Not sure if this was the intention but a painting that prompted many thoughts.
This is where its fucking at - at least it used to be (various) - As someone middle-aged this makes me smile and think of the LCD Soundsystem track Losing My Edge. A confident proclamation and then the realisation that you are perhaps no longer cool or possibly even relevant.
Rags To Polyester (2014) - I found funny, an obvious tweak on rags to riches stories. Perhaps a much more common story of someone from working classes remaining there with a small trajectory in life.
I could go on, I suppose the point I am trying to make is that on the surface they could seem quite basic titles, but often the titles provoke wider thought, or a flashback to a different time or memory for the right person. Throw in the pathos beautifully described by Reader earlier in the thread, the feeling or mood Penguin books evoke for many Brits, and the lovely drips of colour on the edging of the paintings, and you have a fair few reasons to like his work or want it on your walls.

Harland Miller Hate's Outta Date โข 2017 & 2022, by Love Is In The Air on Oct 3, 2022 22:17:32 GMT 1, The best thing about this whole thread is the unavoidable truth that hate is most definitely not out of date I would suggest the thread can be split mostly in terms of the haves and have nots. The hate will be mainly be coming from those who missed out. The love from those who have in hand. Not in all cases but anyone wanting to pick up on secondary is unlikely to praise the print to high heaven as they want to buy cheaply. Similarly a flipper is not going to admit it might look better with annotations or paint marks.
I missed out on this one and think it doesnโt look up to the quality of Manifold prints but equally it looks a bloody lovely pick up for 7.5k - thatโs about as even handed as I can be. Iโve been sent pics of both colours looking a bit flat and other pics that make them look incredible. Iโll need to see the print in person to make a proper judgement I think.
Well done the lucky ones who bought and already have on the wall, framed up ones on here look very nice indeed.

BANKSY / KAWS / HIRST, by Love Is In The Air on Sept 26, 2022 19:28:38 GMT 1, If you could pay decent framer to replace the rear of the frame I guess you could cut the board to the size of the COA and just have a COA mounted on board to put back in an envelope for safe keeping away from the print?
Green NBG always been one of my faves but timing is off for me to mount a serious effort to grab this one. Good luck with the sales

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Love Is In The Air on Sept 25, 2022 9:44:46 GMT 1, In hindsight perhaps price was a bit high for a private sale. I have now dropped a fair chunk from original post and(Edit) it has SOLD
In case the Hirst doesn't sell and I have anyone still reading this, I do have couple of unopened David Shrigley linocuts that I can sell as pair below cost (See me as I really am & As the years pass) and if anyone might be looking for small Emin prints for around 3k they could drop me a line too for a chat. But the Hirst is the priority.
Hopefully speak to some of you this afternoon and meet one or two of you as well soon. Cheers

Damien Hirst โข The Currency Unique Prints, by Love Is In The Air on Sept 24, 2022 14:27:34 GMT 1, Toppins you may not like the work or could call it lazy, but the idea these will sell below cost is, as Poster Bob said, completely absurd.
Firstly the negatives as you seem to prefer those - these prints are giclees which some people hate as a medium. And they are not hand painted like the Currency works.
BUT in terms of positives they are all unique, hand signed on the front in different colours and are a whopping 100cm x 150cm in size. Framed up there's no question these will look decent and could dominate a room/wall. And as Daniel Silk said I think instantly worth 5 or 10 times the price paid.
The Emperesses was always going to be a big edition and cost more than this. With these you only pay if you win and if you win you already have a print you know is worth more than $1000, hence you will have a huge number of people entering IMHO.

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Love Is In The Air on Sept 24, 2022 9:00:34 GMT 1, Thanks for the kind words both. I had couple of nice chats and one offer last night from long standing member but it was a bit on the low side for what I need. I'm motivated to sell this weekend so have cut the price to a point below where I believe others have sold on the forum already. With any luck I'll hear from some of you today off the back of this as hopefully it is now a more attractive price. Have a great weekend everyone.

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Love Is In The Air on Sept 23, 2022 18:02:10 GMT 1, Evening all,
Was lucky with an Emin sale last weekend and did say I might be back so I am going to try again. I'm home most of weekend so it means I can answer PMs then, do a deal over a coffee or tea or even hit the road with a print if the need arises. I am in London E17.
I have a Hirst Currency SOLD

Greenpeace โข 50 Years, by Love Is In The Air on Sept 20, 2022 19:22:47 GMT 1, Hello! Anyone got the discount code by any chance? Please please please please please please The code is normally in the email sent out when first batch of prints go on sale I think from memory.
Jonas Wood the best for me although I think the Emin could be nice in hand with that blue kinda floating background, but then I like most of what she does so hardly a great critique.

Charlotte Keates ๐ฌ๐ง Painting โข Print Release โข For Sale, by Love Is In The Air on Sept 19, 2022 20:33:06 GMT 1, Was fortunate enough to sell my Emin print on here today so thought I would try to help ignition out.
I love Keates' work and these hand finished prints are fantastic value for money in my eyes compared to her originals and drawings which have all increased dramatically in price.
Here are couple of pics of my own one in a beautiful dark wooden frame to hopefully inspire anyone sat on the fence or close to pushing the trigger! Good luck with the sale

Had several more people interested tonight but this has now sold pending full payment. I may sell one more Emin later this week or next weekend once I have done some number crunching.... if that happens I'll likely do a new thread though. Cheers

Tracey Emin โข I Loved My Innocence, by Love Is In The Air on Sept 18, 2022 21:17:16 GMT 1, Good Evening UAA,
On Thursday night I was lucky enough to spot an Emin go up for sale with a gallery that I had been looking to buy for around six months at a reasonable price. I couldn't really afford it but as any art addict knows, that is what credit card are for ; )
So I find myself needing to sell a couple of bits to balance out the collection and the bank balance. Here I am selling the 2019 Emin print I Loved My Innocence
Details of the print are as follows: Edition of 200 1 colour lithograph on Somerset Velvet Warm White 400gsm. Produced by Counter Studio, Margate. 76 x 60 cm (29.9 x 23.6 in) Signed, numbered and dated by the artist
This print was bought from source(can provide purchase email) and then send to Mister Frameman to frame up. It's his best glass and a decent frame with a subframe so a good few hundred quids worth. To my eyes the print is ready to go straight up on the wall but on unwrapping it after we moved house recently I have noticed a tiny dink of about 3mm (shows in pic with a 1p coin) in the top left corner. I didn't notice it when stood a metre or so away with it on the wall but it is there and so important I mention. You could touch up with some white paint if it bothered you or perhaps one day reframe it but I think anyone viewing the print to buy would likely just stick it straight on the wall.
The print now sells unframed on Counter for 5k and some galleries are selling framed versions for over 6k. My one is SOLD PENDING PAYMENT.
