Banksy, Walled Off Hotel, GIFT SHOP, by frankiefrench on Mar 20, 2017 21:41:22 GMT 1, I am liking this giving away art for free... It is making me smile... and seeing as Banksy is being so crap and let everyone down today by not sharing his art with us or by even giving us free art I would also like to give away 2 pieces of art. I have 2 signed King champion screen prints by Aiko from 2008 - I'm not sure anyone wants these? But if you do let me know below and I'll pick 2 names at random in 10-15 minutes or longer if there's no names! Ha! I'll be a player and throw my name into this hat as I like a bit of Aiko! It's not April 1st yet so I feel safe

BAST POPEYE - SPECIAL EDITION OF 5 HAND FINISHED, by frankiefrench on Mar 20, 2017 20:38:43 GMT 1, Where are we at price wise for a black b/g one? So one is a hand finished edition of 5 and the black is an edition of 8? / plain black screen ink? Interested to see and compare them. I see a few whisps of aerosol paint yes, a light dusting, but after this many years in the game it would take a bit more than that before i'm using phrases such as 'totally sprayed' and 'totally amazing in the flesh' I would be a player at a sensible and fair market price but am a little sus of the current claims of 2k offers.

BAST Artwork, VALUATION, by frankiefrench on Mar 20, 2017 19:49:59 GMT 1, The seller will not budge on price, no idea why when he couldnt even shift it at ยฃ650 so how he got up to ยฃ800 I will never know, its way over the top so i'm OOT! As Duncan Bannatyne would say. Thanks anyway everyone for the advice, this post is done with. I have one and recon they will keep going up in price, it's been a slow rise but it's a underrated future classic. I think I paid around ยฃ550 a year or two ago. ยฃ550/600 would be a good price, but if you want one maybe you will have to pay a little more. Lovely thick paint on these.... Read more: urbanartassociation.com/thread/128595/bast-print-canvas-price-check?page=2#ixzz4boRpJwPQ Wise words and thanks for the repiles all on here. I did in fact offer him ยฃ600 in the end, which I and it seems everyone else felt was a good and fair deal at the moment for one of these but he is shooting for the stars and i'm not the guy on this one. The fact that i've now found out from helpful forum members that it has been around for time is also off putting. Definitely agree that this is a future classic but i'm not letting my heart rule my head, as keen as I am for a Bast piece i'll hold out for a better price. And yes, anyone with a genuine good deal on something is free to contact me.

BAST Artwork, VALUATION, by frankiefrench on Mar 17, 2017 11:36:23 GMT 1, Hand painted base colours, oil stick details and signature, black screened key line on recycled paper with what appears to be pieces of straw etc in it. I would imagine this is pretty hard to fake and what with the COA or paperwork from POW it looks safe enough. Just wondered what the going rate might be, ball park figures anyone? Thanks in advance.

Thirsty Bstrd - Banksy Images?, by frankiefrench on Mar 17, 2017 2:45:50 GMT 1, It's an interesting argument, coz I can't see much difference between what Banksy and other artists have done over the years by copying and reworking other artists images, but for some reason it's not acceptable for Thirsty Bstrd? I don't know the answer I'm just throwing the questions about coz I'm interested to hear what you all think. I do see a difference, a big difference and i'll attempt to explain my own personal take on this which does of course not make it fact but rather subjective. First of all when Banksy did Kate Moss, although it wasn't actually him but thats another conversation, there had been a gap of decades and in that time enough rest space for a new icon to come along and serve some relevance in terms of comparison, ie being held a loft as a 'new' so and so, celebrated, canonised and then demonised in and by the media. Here today, gone tomorrow, celebrities have their day in the spotlight, fall from grace and bounce back again or not as the case may be. Using Kate was clever, witty even, a British icon offered up by another, a prankster in the great tradition of pop and agit prop. To simply come out of nowhere, literally nowhere with no history or lineage and start hashing up weak and meaningless riffs on Star Wars pictures is just garbage and the stuff of every high school art room project for the last 10 years or so. It has been done and done to death, and in this case particularly badly! Images thrown together for the sake of trying to be popular or funny or whatever the hell he is trying so desperately to be just leaves me cold. Just my opinion but we are in danger of going down a dead end with this high contrast black and white photo tracing nonsense, I correct that, we have ALREADY gone way too far down that back alley and its become a very easy to dismiss and pigeonhole urban flash in the pan. All of the lookalikes and wannabes will fade away having made a quick buck and leave their owners with a tacky collection of bad art that should be gracing the digital canvas sin bin of high street tat shops such as the Works.

Thirsty Bstrd - Banksy Images?, by frankiefrench on Mar 16, 2017 12:02:25 GMT 1, Just don't understand why talented artists choose to imitate rather than innovate? I get creating in the same style but come up with your own original creative ideas. Copycat art sucks Agreed, it is this sort of garbage that spawned the whole prank with Mr Brainwash, a sort of modern day take on Trading places, we can hype up and make a 'star' out of anybody. Oh how that backfired.

Thirsty Bstrd - Banksy Images?, by frankiefrench on Mar 16, 2017 11:58:08 GMT 1, 'attracted attention in several art auktions with great amount of entusiast' Really? Great amount of enthusiast? Attracted? Mm pocket wankers. Yep, self appointed, self serving agenda. People that are so desperate to fleece pockets with any old toss that they cant even be bothered to spell. The attitude of any old lookalike s**t will do, has to end.

Thirsty Bstrd - Banksy Images?, by frankiefrench on Mar 16, 2017 11:55:36 GMT 1, What do you think of the these? I guess it's at least a step up from doing straight Banksy copies, but not on the level where he's gonna really gain credit as an artist Thirsty Bstrd "Thirsty Bstrd is a french visual artist from Paris, using spray paint, stencils, stickers and videos. His work mainly consists in making satirical comments about society, politics and consumerism, by ยซ using powerful symbols and popular images and making them look funny or weird. The purpose being to provoke and generate an emotion From 2011 to 2015, he was the artistic director of his own creative agency based in Paris. In addition to his inventive works for companies, he worked as a curator and organiser of numerous urban art exhibitions in Paris and Los Angeles, showing his own art at every opportunity. His work features in solo and group shows and numerous collections in Paris, London, Singapore and the USA. It also attracted attention in several art auctions with a great amount of enthusiast. His artworks, from stencils to stickers, can be seen by a worldwide audience in the streets." printclublondon.com/artist/thirsty-bstrd God help us.

Bast NY @ Allouche Gallery NY 9th February 2017, by frankiefrench on Mar 16, 2017 6:49:28 GMT 1, Loving the new vibes and thank you for posting such high quality pictures, some of us just cant get there. Almost a Rauschenberg/Art Brut thing going on with a found objects, trash aesthetic (i'm no art critic and dont know the lingo) but have long been a fan since seeing his work in 1999. Great stuff, wish I could own just one!
