Donald Trump, by Jaylove on Jan 12, 2018 1:56:39 GMT 1, Why do you consider the views held by the Black Lives Matter movement and feminism to be extreme? Don't both these groups/movements just want to be treated equally and not be subjected to racism/sexism? What's extreme about that? There used to be a time where people fought for equality. Movements back then made sense and they had reasonable demands. MLK wanted equality for black people. First wave feminists wanted rights. Second wave feminists wanted equality. BLM doesn't fight for equality. BLM is the black KKK, they fight for black supremacy. They are racist. Feminism (the third wave we are seeing now) doesn't fight for equality, they fight for female supremacy. They hate men. God I wish there was some noteworthy art to talk about on here. Of the things I have read on this board, this is by far the most ignorant. I'm not a BLM supporter but Jesus Christ. The black KKK? One group is looking for equality, the other is looking for supremacy. Are you aware of the many blacks and non-whites who have died at the hands of the KKK? Seriously, give your head a shake.
We don't have to agree on things but at least educate yourself before making such ignorant statements.
I don't see a problem with disadvantaged groups pushing empowerment. I have no issue with Females empowement. I have no issue with black empowerment or any other disadvantaged group.
Advantaged people getting upset when the disadvantaged fight for equality. Always gives me a laugh.

Sandra Chevrier - new timed release, by Jaylove on Jan 12, 2018 0:56:15 GMT 1, This was the other image she gave her IG audience the option of choosing for the Timed Release. I think it is 100000X better than the one IG chose. Not even sure how it was not close. This has to be one of my favorite pieces by her.
Funny. I donโt like this one and like what she picked better.

Sandra Chevrier - new timed release, by Jaylove on Jan 11, 2018 13:13:43 GMT 1, You can already hear flippers heads exploding with disgust. Good! Actual fans will now have a chance. On top of that Canadians wonโt have to get gouged with steep shipping and duty costs. Will be buying for the wall.

SOLD. , by Jaylove on Jan 10, 2018 1:02:43 GMT 1, Haha 'cash out', I remember a time when this forum was about liking pretty pictures and putting them up on your wall. GLWTS tho at least you are honest about flipping. Those days are long gone. People buying pictures they don't even like just to flip for 5x the cost. Get used to it.

New Shrigley print coming soon, by Jaylove on Jan 9, 2018 14:06:19 GMT 1, Apparently Shrigley wanted to do tiered pricing, and that's why they had to do it on the phone, as their web site can't handle selling in tiers. However, it's been a blocked line all day and a pretty horrible experience for people wanting to buy. They're currently just near the end of tier 3. The whole thing is pretty funny to me.

Invader RVE Repetition Variation Evolution Print, by Jaylove on Jan 7, 2018 17:07:27 GMT 1, For me if youโre not framing youโre flipping unless you sell below current market value. If you donโt frame it you bought it as an investment I think it's about intent. If you buy with the intent to frame and put it on your wall, then I wouldn't consider someone a flipper. Flippers are buying strictly for resell.
I have some art in tubes that I intend on framing but there's a queue. If you keep buying new art the framing queue gets bigger. Not all prints are going to get framed. So you gotta sell em and let them go to someone else who wants one at a reasonable markup.

POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by Jaylove on Jan 7, 2018 1:45:20 GMT 1, I think it's a psychological thing. When something is in limited numbers it just raises the amount of people that want it. The game right now isn't really about the art it's moreso about how limited it is and how much it can be flipped for. Knowing you may never be able to get something again (even if you don't like it) can play on someone's mind. It's a brilliant strategy by POW though. This is how you stay relevant and keep people interested. They're probably laughing their arses off watching people squirm for prints that were ignored for 5-10 years only to now be "sought after". I'm guilty myself. I've seen prints sit for ages on certain sights thinking "I'll grab it later" only to get angry when I see it finally sold out. Granted, these are prints that I actually like and want to frame. I figure there are a % of people like that. Just not many. TLDR: Agreed. Limited these days keep on getting increased on each next new release ,as soon as an artist gets a whiff of exposure the 20-50 limited editions jump to 200-600 and then multiples of test press , artist proofs ,printers proofs and editions kept for damaged prints to be released onto the market at a later date , that takes the fun out of collecting so called limited prints. Think a lot of new trade / buyers visiting pow and buying with the old crowd. LOL. Yea you're right. I don't blame them though. You release a print at $250 only to see it flipped for $1250 days later, I'm sure you'd want a piece of the action too.
It's so much like the sneaker game right when it got ridiculously hot.

POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by Jaylove on Jan 6, 2018 22:19:46 GMT 1, Only on this forum could a dodgy โblacked upโ colour variant, thatโs long since been forgotten, by an artist whoโs failed to do anything of note for at least five years, be talked about as โ highly sought afterโ. *shrugs* I think it's a psychological thing. POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by Jaylove on Jan 6, 2018 15:15:59 GMT 1, All appears a bit weird that POW are doing this. I would imagine most people that are running programs to scan for hidden pages are the type to be buying them to list straight on eBay. Yup. Flippers are hip to the game.

40% off at 1xRun (Update: no longer recommended), by Jaylove on Dec 30, 2017 21:49:48 GMT 1, I donโt have an issue with them not wanting certain prints discounted but thereโs a better way to do that without ruffling feathers.
Thereโs a few pieces in there now I would not mind.

Massive D*face for sale thread (US based but happy to ship), by Jaylove on Dec 29, 2017 23:56:01 GMT 1, Holy S$&#(#&t !!!
Nice for sale thread. Seems like DFace is losing a bit of steam these days. Maybe it's just me, though. Older stuff is still hitting though.

POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by Jaylove on Dec 29, 2017 17:57:09 GMT 1, You seem to be missing the part where these prints have sat on the website for years. The market has spoken. The market does not speak on behalf of the artist my friend. Devaluing artwork made by an artists is just wrong, How don't any of you see it? Or is it just the idea of buying prints for less to resell later for more? Would you only buy art from an artist you like if the art was less expensive? I just dont understand the way so called collectors and art lovers or aficionados can say, drop it to 50 pounds and be done with it. I think the best thing POW could do is remotely start printing unlimited soup can posters until they reopen in 2019 then how would all the people paying upwards of $400 feel after that? At this juncture I don't think anyone is trying to flip any of the stuff remaining. As someone has said, the market has spoken, they are not interested at the current price levels. If the artist wants the remaining stock shipped back to them to sit in an attic somewhere, then fine. That's on them. But, liquidation sales do not devalue. It is understood what a liquidation sale is.
I'd take a flyer on some of the art there at a cheaper price.

POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by Jaylove on Dec 29, 2017 17:53:41 GMT 1, I believe returning the work to the artist could or would be the best option allowing the artist to do whatever and what not, but a print house liquidating art by multiple artists doesn't sound bad to you at all? What do you do for work? Maybe a comparison of sorts is in order You seem to be missing the part where these prints have sat on the website for years. The market has spoken. That's what I was getting at. If anything this sale has helped some of the lesser known artists get some exposure from people who were willing to buy just about anything just to be part of the frenzy. Now if their stuff aint selling then clearly the market is not interested at that current price. I'd tell any artist that is still remaining that they'd be silly to NOT have the price of their work reduced. Maybe not 50 pounds but definitely a discount.
It's like "Bro, you have 4 sales since 2014..drop the price"

POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by Jaylove on Dec 29, 2017 17:50:50 GMT 1, I don't see it that way. If a store liquidates their products because they're closing down, it doesn't mean tha'ts now the standard price of that product. Liquidation tends to mean items will be marked down. What will they do with the remaining stock? What benefit would that be to the artist? I believe returning the work to the artist could or would be the best option allowing the artist to do whatever and what not, but a print house liquidating art by multiple artists doesn't sound bad to you at all? What do you do for work? Maybe a comparison of sorts is in order It doesn't sound bad to me because that's typically what all stores do when they close down. Now sure they can send the items back to the artist to do whatever they want with them but it will just sit most likely. So does the artist really win here? Maybe an artist can provide their input on this.

POW CLOSING DOWN - SALE ENDS 31ST DECEMBER 2017, by Jaylove on Dec 29, 2017 17:42:27 GMT 1, They should reduce everything that's left to ยฃ50 and be done with it What a great idea! Devalue the artists work by liquidating the same work they put all the effort into. Nice one, and i don't mean it from a resell stand point but from an artists value in the market. Meaning, allnthe work they put out later will be compared to the devaluation of works from pow. Not the best idea now is it. I don't see it that way. If a store liquidates their products because they're closing down, it doesn't mean tha'ts now the standard price of that product.

Your latest Art Purchase?, by Jaylove on Dec 29, 2017 2:42:48 GMT 1, What was the experience like trying to get it framed? Did your framer flip out? It was framed at the gallery, thankfully. I canโt imagine how much it would cost to custom frame it, there isnโt a single 90ยฐ angle. That print in a square frame doesnโt look great to my eyes: Yea, I have yet to see any of these framed outside of the gallery. I bought one unframed as the framed ones were sold out but only realized after I got it that it wasn't square. LOL. No worries though since my fiance unknowingly damaged it so it won't be getting framed..

Pejac โข Desprestigio, by Jaylove on Dec 28, 2017 22:45:23 GMT 1, You may well be right. But if I had the powers to change anything I would stop the poisonous inability of people to behave like polite human beings. I am not sure what world you live in that you think calling people broke peasants is acceptable. Amen to that. I canโt comprehend that people behave like this to people everyday. If they did there is no way you would get anywhere in life. This is the issue with forums, thereโs always someone who thinks they are superior to everyone else, peacocking behind a computer. No one reads the posts and thinks thatโs a successful and nice guy. Do you read the comments section of Youtube or any online articles? Some people are truly vile the way they talk to others. I think the anonymity of the internet has given people more stones to act like jackasses. Catch them on the streets though and they're quiet.

Martin Whatson - Son of Man - AP, by Jaylove on Dec 24, 2017 6:27:26 GMT 1, Donโt buy. Thereโs one of his free edition of 100 on eBay now for 99$. It may not be an AP but itโs the same image. Youโll get enough joy out of having it in the wall All I see is one for 500 pounds which is insane.
