Amoako Boafo print, by medichead on Dec 16, 2020 15:53:38 GMT 1, In theory, I feel like the actual pricing is about right.
The problem is the image is weak, flat, dull. Far from his best. And the size of the border around the printing makes no sense to me.
It will sell out in seconds, obviously.

Damien Hirst Keukenhof H 4-8 2020 for Sale, by medichead on Dec 15, 2020 12:20:16 GMT 1, I actually donโt have an issue with flipping. I donโt do it, or at least havenโt yet, but I do have things that I havenโt got round to framing and may never make the wall. If at some point I decide definitively they wonโt, Iโd probably like to sell them. When it comes to selling them, Iโll probably do my best to get a fair market rate, not just cover my costs. Flipping happens at every echelon of the art market. Except if you add on a few zeros to the price and stick it in a free port whilst you flip for profit, people call you a shrewd art investor... My issue is this is almost certainly not this personโs only account, and Iโm dying to see what were their seven posts even worse than this. Selling things for more than you paid for them is not the problem here. What the problem is, is when somebody comes on here and sells stuff they haven't even received yet. ย There's some people (we all know who they are) who click the "buy now" button then come straight on here and try and flog it for 3 times the price. They don't even have the decency to wait until the actual artwork is in their possession!ย
Emotionally I feel the same way, but rationally I realise it is a spectrum, and itโs slightly subjective and arbitrary where the line is between โokโ and โbit of a dick moveโ.
Agree with you entirely, @nik2000

Damien Hirst Keukenhof H 4-8 2020 for Sale, by medichead on Dec 14, 2020 23:31:43 GMT 1, Look guys, I know this looks like another feckless knob flipping a print release within 40 days, but chocolate300 is a cherished member of this forum who's only deleted 7 of their last 11 posts which were probably bloody great, so please leave them to it.
GLWTS.

Honestly, what is the motivation behind these posts? Are you getting affiliate money from eBay? I would literally prefer it if that was the case, as it would make sense to me.

Harland Miller โข Hell, It's Only Forever, by medichead on Dec 9, 2020 9:57:29 GMT 1, Not sure a US auction is the best place for his works. No, it's not.
Also, most people don't want a massive piece of art with the word CUNT emblazoned across it. I would, but that's by the by.
And bear in mind, that canvas last sold for ยฃ35k about 3 years ago... so $47k to $81k. Wha wha whaaaa indeed.

Harland Miller โข Hell, It's Only Forever, by medichead on Dec 8, 2020 19:30:54 GMT 1, When did artists works selling for hundreds of thousands pounds make them unsuccessful? Did I miss that turn? Don't think anyone said that? It's more the extortionate primary print prices vs comparably weak (even poor) auction results, which don't tally with a lot of his contemporaries. Will we get a $1M Hm auction? This is an insane metric for measuring an artist's success. He is doing plenty well, don't you worry.

Tracey Emin โข True love always wins, by medichead on Dec 3, 2020 22:03:54 GMT 1, Are these new ones on display at the RA as part of the show and (if so) has anyone seen them in the flesh? No they have nothing to do with the RA show.
Which, by the way, was astonishing - visited today and was absolutely blown away. "You Kept It Coming" my favourite.

Tracey Emin โข True love always wins, by medichead on Dec 3, 2020 17:09:38 GMT 1, Did anyone really pay 12K for one of these? They're good but they're not worth 12K - not by a long way. No, with the 20% discount code that everyone has from the mailout they were basically sold out for ยฃ9600 top tier by my reckoning. Still a lot but not an insane amount for an Emin in a small edition of 50. Actually, even that is a lot.
I don't want to overly emphasise auction results, but I can't find any (only checked Phillips and Sothebys) instances of a single print selling for > ยฃ10k.
Yes, it's a small edition size and a self-portrait.
But I think that price is punchy, even with discount.

Maddox were offering this at ยฃ25k a few weeks back. No idea if it sold or how much for, but that was the asking.

Banksy โข Tesco Petrol Bomb Poster, by medichead on Dec 2, 2020 16:24:33 GMT 1, Danny this is a good development and am very reassured to see how your company is handling this.
I'm not a forger, but I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would try and sell copies of a poster that don't even colour match the original.

Banksy Welcome Mat, by medichead on Dec 1, 2020 23:17:31 GMT 1, Forgive me but Iโve yet to see a single one of these displayed in a manner that Iโd think is decent ?? Thereโs been ceilings, tables, crap frames, dangling tags and Velcro !!! Cโmon guys youโre better than this ... surely ?? The problem is: it's a doormat.
It's conceptually strong. And an amazing cause. And I feel fortunate to have one.
But at the same time, it's a brown doormat.

Jonni Cheatwood new works for Untitled Art Fair Miami๐คฏ, by medichead on Dec 1, 2020 20:12:08 GMT 1, Nice works, but any concerns about it being too derivative of Eddie Martinez? I tend to shy away from work that reminds me of another artist almost instantly. Wholeheartedly agree.

Banksy โข Tesco Petrol Bomb Poster, by medichead on Dec 1, 2020 15:16:37 GMT 1, Very interested to know which word/phrase is libellous, happy to change if that's appropriate. This bit. It's stated as fact but unproven: " We have a business partner of an auction house owner selling - over a period of years - countless counterfeit copies of Banksy ephemera at great profit" I've edited it to reflect your comment. Thank you.

Banksy โข Tesco Petrol Bomb Poster, by medichead on Dec 1, 2020 12:49:01 GMT 1, This is one of those times that forum dramatics are actually called for - you should recognise it as such. We have a business partner of an auction house owner selling - over a period of years - countless counterfeit copies of Banksy ephemera at great profit. How is it possible he would not question the source of these pieces? Is this malice or wilful ignorance? I am struggling to believe it is plain old incompetence, but that is what those claiming 'forum dramatics' would have you believe. It is also worth remembering that some of those awaiting a refund may say or do things to guarantee their refund actually materialises. As such, those of us not remotely affected are able to speak without bias and therefore should do so. The term forum dramatics was in reference to the people who have gone full conspiracy theory, linking every fake Petrol Bomb they can find on the internet back to Tate Ward. Or stacking up unevidenced 'what if?' theories. I don't see the aim of it, beyond enjoying the drama. It's not useful to anyone to chuck around theories. It's certainly not useful to those looking for refunds. The more unfounded accusations made, the more confusing things become. Lots of libellous statements on here make a quick resolution for everyone less likely. Your post above contains at least one instance of libel, by the way. Jamie's clear, factual posts were incredibly useful. They helped me, and others mis-sold this piece, to get refunds. The rest, based on people's guesswork, adds very little. Obviously something weird has happened, either deliberately or unwittingly. Anyone who bought a fake would be fully within their rights to initiate legal action. I won't, because I don't see a worthwhile result coming from that. But if there were legal action brought, nothing posted in this thread in the past five pages would help it. Very interested to know which word/phrase is libellous, happy to change if that's appropriate.

JonasWood โข Pattern Couch Interior with Mar Vista View, by medichead on Dec 1, 2020 11:56:07 GMT 1, I'm a huge fan of Wood and love his large canvases. That said, I'm not sure why he makes the decisions he does when it comes to prints - I'm sure he has his reasons, but the last few have been kind of blah. Thinking back on the speaker on shelf, even that was a relatively weak selection. Seems to be a massive disparity between his original works (stunning) and his recent print releases. That said it's a small edition and i'm sure it'll sell out. Very true. It's like he keeps them deliberately shit. Landscape Pot with Plant was nice...

Banksy โข Tesco Petrol Bomb Poster, by medichead on Dec 1, 2020 11:46:37 GMT 1, Is this just concerning Petrol Bomb Posters or are there other works in question ? There's been no suggestion of any other works being in question, but the usual forum dramatics have bubbled up. As ever, those not remotely affected are the most worked up. This is one of those times that forum dramatics are actually called for - you should recognise it as such.

Gerhard Richter ๐ฉ๐ช Abstract โข Contemporary Art โข New Relea, by medichead on Nov 30, 2020 20:02:45 GMT 1, printed signature. try again. I think the cheapest signed print is Ice 2. But there is a offset edition/show poster of that image also. My German isn't brilliant but I do know it doesn't say "printed signature". If you look at other auctions, it is a printed signature. Or 'plate signed', as people like to say, to make it not sound shit...!
There are signed, low edition prints for much less than $20k though.
I think they're all great - especially 2 and 4, but probably wouldn't go for 1.

Kaws โข Urge Portfolio โข 10 Print Set, by medichead on Nov 26, 2020 0:17:16 GMT 1, why are all the people who've been selected new members? it's as it they've only joined for one purpose I am sure they aren't, just don't want the hassle associated with their main account so they set up a second/third/fourth etc.
The bigger question is who is sending $20k+ to a forum member who registered 2 days ago...

Inside Art Collectors Homes, by medichead on Nov 25, 2020 18:31:41 GMT 1, Yeah, that place is unreal, as is his collection. I'd be tempted to put a basketball half-court in the main hall, but otherwise... perfect. Saw it on The Modern House - the link is in the article, but here, many more pics; www.themodernhouse.com/sales-list/the-compound/ Thank you for that! Holy crap. I was envious before I saw the full collection!
Collection definitely > House in terms of value...!

Banksy on hold, by medichead on Nov 25, 2020 18:27:50 GMT 1, Just out of curiosity what do you guys think of the attached pictures? Ralph Hi Ralph - if you have two posters that look so different, are you not concerned that one is fake? Second one colours look more correct to my eye but I'm not at expert on the subject so I'll shut up.
