Do I have terrible taste?, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Aug 16, 2007 22:39:59 GMT 1, Both Saul and Sunset Apt Complex are brilliant... but seriously if you're going to get any BRP print and you're looking at Saul then get Ahmed... you won't regret it - seriously brilliant work
i'll second that.. 50 quid more, but really stunning quality. bigger and a smaller edition as well
but if you prefer saul's face then go for it! all BRP work is well worth what they ask for

Blek Le Rat โข David with Kalashnikoff, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Sept 5, 2007 15:27:55 GMT 1, TFL has just been found to have two forum accounts, and had given himself respect points so the other account has been removed, and his main TFL account is still active. That's hilarious. Just like having an invisible 'friend'
again see the explanation above. I replaced the 'point' using my old account because I couldn't see why I had lost one..
fair enough if thats not on..
if you have any more concerns over my use of my 'invisible friend' then pm me..
..or else 'neg' me if you like

in summary.. I like this print and you don't!

Blek Le Rat โข David with Kalashnikoff, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Sept 5, 2007 13:50:06 GMT 1, David with Kalashnikoff Thats the worst print I have seen this year
Im sorry but thats bollocks.. worst print? try elliots rembrandt crap or bullingdon, or arofish 'eject and survive' or even the elbow-toe on BRP..
..DWK is stronger than the 'dream..' print for me. also as discussed on the other thread on this his hands aren't massive its called perspective which usually occurs when you look up at something..

Fake Banksy Prints, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Aug 8, 2007 22:48:35 GMT 1, Has anyone ever seen a fake Banky print? I'm not talking about a back-door job. I mean a strait out fake. There was one reported on this site by a member that had bought it off ebay (from I think, the States) it was a Love Rat I think, and it had a POW stamp too. It was the paper that gave it away, it had a watermark in it that it shouldn't of had and POW were sent the print and confirmed it wasn't legit.
someone produced a fake grannies a while back.. with a forged laz prov..
have only heard of those two though

Neate print original prices, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Aug 7, 2007 16:19:08 GMT 1, It's NOT all about the image. If they were unlimited litho prints (which would look identical to the giclees btw) lots of people that are now interested wouldn't be.
you can apply that to anything.. if 'morons' was an unlimited screenprint etc..
for me its all about the image. I dont care if its a litho or a giclee or whatever I love neates work and feel having had my nose 2 inches from them I can judge that the prints (esp. come on) looked fantastic and I wanted to buy one

Neate print original prices, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Aug 7, 2007 16:05:56 GMT 1, I agree that the prices are high. The Neate reproductions are exactly that REPRODUCTIONS. The are just printed out from an high quality inkjet printer. There is no craft to the printing process and almost no labor. And that fact that you can get an OG street piece for less then the prints is unreal!. Adam Neate went from making free art, to making millions. I don't particularly like his work and I can't see how people are trading amazing OG art for an edition or signed inkjet prints ;D ;D ;D ;D
god its the 'inkjet' argument again.. who gives a crap? if the image is fantastic then buy it..
just because a screenprint is 'hand-pulled' doesnt make it more worthy

Neate print original prices, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Aug 7, 2007 15:38:34 GMT 1, Do these prices seem high to anyone else?? I know they have gone straight onto Ebay for twice the original sale amount, but compare them with the original sale price of a Banksy or a Micallef. Does this mean that Banksy and Micaleff (Micallef, can't remember or be bothered to check) are good guys who are making good money but aren't greedy, that Neate is not not greedy or that Elms is greedy. Or what???
-no they are very reasonably priced..
-elms are certainly not greedy
-buying fantastic art should hurt. If I had 30k I would want the 60k original..its part of being a collector, always push for the best

DFACE, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Aug 9, 2007 9:45:56 GMT 1, I hear you TFL. All I'm trying to say is that people should be judging artists on their own merit, not against the merits of others. If you don't like their work, then there's no need to purchase or debate it, it's just not for you and that's cool. DFace should be judged on his next show, print release, etc. Just like Banksy should be judged on his new work post the LA prints. Will the works ever be comparable in popularity, who knows? It all depends on who you ask and what any particular piece means to that person.
eh? you have the wrong man! paolos the cheesecake/oasis fan has the issue with him..

DFACE, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Aug 9, 2007 9:34:53 GMT 1, No, I'm telling you that you know a lot more about Shed7 and Oasis than you do about Banksy and Dface, hence the lame analogy you came up with. D's been producing work on the street around the world and staging some of the most exciting graf related shows (Finders Keepers etc) long before the word Banksy became common currency. Ok then, let me make this comparison. If they were both cheesecakes, then Banksy would be a 'Taste the difference' Sainsbury's Cheesecake, and Dface would be a Tesco's Value Economy Cheesecake.
you clearly know more about cheesecake than you do about art..
..d*face is not a banksy tribute act which is something you seem to find hard to understand

neate prints, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Aug 4, 2007 17:19:13 GMT 1, Come On is a great print, bought one today..real depature from the usual neate style
it translates into a giclee really well IMO..better than say 'bigger picture' did as some of the detail is lost in that print like the words coming out of the tv
fantastic work, best this year by a mile for me

Adam Neate Show Pic's *SPOILER ALERT*New Pics 7/8, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Aug 7, 2007 15:03:47 GMT 1, Just read the rest of your post. I'llexpalin why I bought the come on as I also heard the bad feedback on the image and couldn't understand why. The background makes the image, he floats on it suggesting he is removed from the scene, the halo over his head suggest he is of some other place, yet he is placed in a recognisable environment to anyone that lives in London. The do not cut out on his body, again suggests alienation. I would say this is an image for anyone who feels they don't fit in. We all (mostly) live mundane lives and most people obey the rules of everyday society. This is a salute to people who are different, come on world, lets be having you cos I'm gonna do things my way. People just have to get past the montage element and a fxxking amazing image is presented that really goes further than looking good on your wall.
agree 100% with this..
I do think people underrated and overlooked this print
