Adam Neate Show Pic's *SPOILER ALERT*New Pics 7/8, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Aug 7, 2007 9:32:08 GMT 1, have to say calling them posters is pretty rough really, if there's one thing you say about all Elm's prints is that they all reak of quality even those you don't like... I've umm'ed and err'd over these two and I have to say they've really grown on me particularly 'come on' i think the photographic element is really refreshing in comparison to the other prints, and definitely an interesting new side to Adam's work
I think that sums it up well..
to me the photo background translates really well to giclee and Come On is a strong image.. wasn't so keen on Queens Special. I think Come On is seriously underrated especially as it is the start of Neate trying a new technique. maybe they were not so popular as they are not the 'normal' neate style
for me you lose so much in a print of something like Cold War or blog, it seems so.. flat. its hard to capture the texture of the 3D originals

Paul Insect โข Dead Cow Prints, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Aug 2, 2007 19:20:37 GMT 1, as someone said insect is making a valid comment on the death of modernism and maybe also originality, and executed really well I think I think the gold one looks great, but if this is a comment on the death of modernism, well, I'm afraid Insect is about 45 years behind...
I think it is meant to be slightly tongue in cheek rather than a startling new revelation..
anyway your right the gold one looks great which is what matters eh

Paul Insect โข Dead Cow Prints, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Aug 2, 2007 19:09:09 GMT 1, So you don't like the 29 Soup Tin colourways? I think the Insect cow print is excellent, particularly the gold one, and obviously if you're doing a Warhol pastiche jobby you have to do it in colourways. If he'd done a run of 300 prints in one colour he'd have got no grief, yet do runs of 50 in 5 different colours and he gets a s**t kicking? I don't see what the problem is to be honest. I think it's a good quality image and if you have the space for it, having three different colourways lined up gives a b**ching nice effect.
spot on..
you wont get many on here bashing banksy for producing multiple 'warhol-related' colourways of his soupcans, yet insect is slated.. take a look at the gold cow in person and you will see why I think its class..
as someone said insect is making a valid comment on the death of modernism and maybe also originality, and executed really well I think
for the full effect paper your room in gold cows like Laz's back room

Paul Insect โข Dead Cow Prints, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Aug 2, 2007 17:30:43 GMT 1, the cows are class..
gold version at laz looks the best but a bit steep at 500 quid
I would say the grey/pink or blue/yellow of the POW versions

agreed.. just read this thread. ridiculous. why make it public knowledge? no good reason I can see except maybe angling for some precious 'respect' points..
if people can't be arsed to even join the mailing list they are hardly massive fans are they?

Artists I DONT rate, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Aug 1, 2007 14:10:46 GMT 1, I do like a good debate...
elliot = sh*te
mantis - all fall down looked good on the street but crap as a print..those kids had squashed heads & were all out of proportion
like his reputation really..
dan blandwin - yes I have seen his prints, no I wasnt impressed..his method is to take every cliche in the book (jesus/skulls/eagles etc) and chuck it on.
the giclees look crap, his canvases a bit better
rant over

Elliot, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Aug 1, 2007 16:19:53 GMT 1, I think its more to do with the actual art itself. Bullingdon and Rembrant... The images say nothing at all...
spot on..I have no time for the crap elliot produces, which is a shame because the premise was good- a group of people get together to make affordable art..great
except the arts no good and it is either derivative (soupcan) or total cack like the other two

New Banksy originals @ Laz?, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on Nov 16, 2007 18:07:55 GMT 1, I really hope Laz has some master plan or something up his sleeve because what he is doing with almost all of his artists goes against every proven method of growing an artists career for long term success.
yes.make a lot of money then take early retirement to the bahamas..
