I WILL DO SOMETHING TO STOP THE SLAUGHTER IN GAZA!, by manchestermike on Jan 9, 2009 20:59:39 GMT 1, I'm off to a fancy dress party tomorrow.
I'm not going to bother with a costume, I'm just going to walk in and claim the house as my own. If anyone asks what I'm doing I'll tell them I've come as Israel.

Does anyone else suffer from sleep paralysis?, by manchestermike on Dec 20, 2008 19:02:13 GMT 1, yeah i get it all the time, used to scare the s**t out of me but its quite interesting now think its based on stress, how tired you are, your surroundings etc
Also based on the amount of drugs you might have done in the few days prior!
I used to get it a fair bit, not for a while though, but maybe that's because as you get older you take it a little easier

POW Open Day • 2008, by manchestermike on Dec 10, 2008 12:00:46 GMT 1, Robin - your right. I know I need to get a grip. This situation just bothers me more than usual. I have missed the last few releases and just upset. But, I honestly think I am sorta right. I mean come on, how would you feel having to wake up at 3am to buy prints? My point is that I think POW need to adjust their offering times a bit. Think of your entire fan base.
I wouldn't... I'd prefer a good nights sleep. I probably wouldn't even know about the print as they'd only have emailed a few hours before... same way I wouldn't queue overnight in the street, a la Nick Walker earlier this year. And as has been said before, US galleries sell prints at certain times, when the UK is asleep etc... it's the way of the world.
Maybe I should write to the NFL and ask them to move the next Superbowl by a few hours as I'd like to be asleep by midnight

DID YOU WIN?, by manchestermike on Dec 10, 2008 10:56:33 GMT 1, Of course it is a market ploy. Do you starve the market and keep your demand high or flood it and watch your demand fall? But you have to make sure that you feed enough people or your market model dies.......
Judging by the portion of his market that is on here his market model is nowhere near dying

DID YOU WIN?, by manchestermike on Dec 10, 2008 10:36:40 GMT 1, I has nothing to do with the secondary market. I just cant understand why such low editions. Other than a very sneaky market plan and drip feeding the market just to keep it ticking over. Its very clear to see that the edition sizes are encouraging media attention. Hence more people trying to log on and more and more flippers homing in on a market demand. If there was an edition of 1000 for £350 then the flippers would get stung but still lower editions than last year. Hupster these lower editions are are joke considering the fanbase, its definately a market ploy

DID YOU WIN?, by manchestermike on Dec 10, 2008 10:31:00 GMT 1, Genuinely down in the dumps? You'll get over it, it's only a print... cheer up, you're alive, enjoy it, there is lots of fantastic art out there, search it out, find it, enjoy it... Genuinely down in the dumps because you missed out on a print... come on!! Its not the fact of missing out on this print its the fact of missing out on the nlast 5 releases online. How many banksy's do you have Mike? Hupster
How many Banksys I have (or anyone has) is an irrelevance, what I'm saying is getting your knickers in a twist or getting upset about missing a print is a bit much. It's like getting upset every week if your 10 fold football accumulator doesn't come in.
Nothing to get upset about at all, much bigger things to worry about than missing a print.
As for releasing a signed edition of 1000+, the artist surely wants to keep his work valued. Bashing out monumental signed editions isn't going to help this - supply and demand.

grafter - splash - misterframeman, by manchestermike on Dec 7, 2008 19:16:15 GMT 1, they look the dogs, someone also has a Walker Vandal Airways somewhere on here that similarly has paint splashes on the frame and makes the print really come alive
I agree, it works on this print to an extent, but I think on the Vandal Airways it looks dreadful (and that's no disrespect to Gary it just doesn't work with that print).
With this one it works to a greater or lesser extent
