Jet-set Graffiti, by manchestermike on Dec 6, 2008 21:24:48 GMT 1, I'm amazed how people get away with it...
JetSet on here and the giant forum verbalkint on here morrissey1 on here the guy on here running the 'competition' for new artists
Then for one reason or another the threads get moved or archived (due to legal action or not) people forget, someone else comes on with another great idea... and guess what, people buy into it... and people lose out.
It's hard to know what to say when you see a thread that looks like it might be a con... do you jump in on it? Of course you don't do, you'd get shot down for it left, right and centre. Unfortunately you can't be wise to something like this until after the event. With JetSet there were warning signs... but with the others there weren't. I think the main thing is as the forum/community, whether it's here or on thegiant or anywhere else for that matter, pulls together to try and stop anything like this happening again

Beejoir from 2003 ?, by manchestermike on Dec 6, 2008 15:35:09 GMT 1, it's not really flipping to sell something five years down the line though surely? not what i would call flipping anyway. personally i think so (when it comes to original pieces at least) but maybe im just old fashioned
It's not, five years is more than adequate time period I think. However these were found in the studio this year and sold at 2003 prices on the proviso they weren't flipped

POW Open Day • 2008, by manchestermike on Dec 4, 2008 21:46:15 GMT 1, If you can't make the Ghetto - get to Merry Crunchmas starting next week - lots of top art and maybe even a few surprises...
Mike the beauty of the Ghetto was that all the money went to charity - as is money from Banksy Lotto ... where is the money from your chrunch thing going?
Most of it is going to the artists.
I know the last Ghetto was for Charity... but before that?

More economic gloom to come: what will you sell?, by manchestermike on Dec 4, 2008 20:07:15 GMT 1, Interest rates will drop again... good for me in one way as I just moved and while my new house is on a fixed my other one hasn't sold yet and is on a variable, so keep dropping those rates until I sell it...
The new house is an eco house so lower bills ahoy... which is one positive even though the mortgage is fixed!

nola fs or swaps!!!, by manchestermike on Dec 3, 2008 14:27:28 GMT 1, Pffft. Oh my Oh my. Here we go again. I don't know why I can see your post because I pressed the ignore button on you days ago. Anyway... Get over the postcard thing you wretched, snivelling b**ch. Every one of your 500 or so posts has been directed at me. Find something else to talk about. I'm not going to justify my actions again because idiots like you can't be bothered to read other posts. Do you sit on this forum all day? Here's a tip. Get out of your underwear, go outside and get a life. Totally completely and utterly out of order

Art ideas for Kids Room, by manchestermike on Dec 2, 2008 17:24:14 GMT 1, Don't know what you want to spend but everyone of any age who comes into our house loves our Waleska Nomuras more than our Micallefs, Banksys, Neates etc etc etc.(although technically she is also a Neate being his wife and all that). Have a word with Mike on edgeart and you could get a commission or one off the site. Not sure if she's done any prints but she should. They are very simple, happy, uncomplicated scenes which just make you smile. Great shout... ;D Call me a child! ;D But no way is this getting hidden away in my step-daughter's room! Mike should have more of her work up at Edge at some point, hopefully. There were threats of a print for this year that didn't quite come about, so hopefully there will be some Waleska print action next year, that could be ideal for a kid's room. I'm sure there was another nice thread about this sort of thingmuch earlier in the year, but I can't find it.
Lots more planned from Waleska for 2009

I couldn't afford a banksy! So I bought this!, by manchestermike on Dec 1, 2008 19:23:29 GMT 1, no offence, but whats going on with ron's shoes? H
BAM wanted it to look as close to the original spray painted version as possible therefore instead of going for the clean, crisp look that we did with "The Warden" print we overprinted the layers of colour to get the look more like the original work

I couldn't afford a banksy! So I bought this!, by manchestermike on Dec 1, 2008 18:58:49 GMT 1, I bought one of these, I love it and your right about it being like Banksys work. Although my one has a bit of a printing error on Jamies leg which I was a bit dissapointed about. Has anyone else had a similar problem? -No I havent told Edge Art about it - yet!
Has it? It shouldn't do... with them being hand pulled screen prints some can have small imperfections, but we didn't number those ones up. Looks like one may have sneaked through, drop me an email to mike@edgeart.co.uk and I'll get it sorted for you.
Glad you like the print though ;D
