Faile Captivating, by faute on May 17, 2008 16:57:10 GMT 1, 1800garrett, I believe it's the POW one.
I was not really looking to sell it, but I have one still unframed and I need cash (or BAST, because I always need more BAST)....
Thus, if it has a good value and price, PM me...Number is pretty cool: 600/600 (as I understand it's 150 signed, 600 unsigned, and some have been numbered out of 750 and some out of 600)).

KOONS KAWS PARLA FUTURA SUPREME EBAY ENDING 2DAY, by faute on May 10, 2008 19:36:09 GMT 1, Krazy, I would be interested to hear the story.
I have always unterstood that this painting was one of four pieces commissioned by Tokion from four artists (Barry McGee, Shepard Fairey, Perks and Kaws) around 1999 to paste-up the posters in a few major cities.
I have always undersood this painting was made to make posters. None of the posters were on sale at that time if I remember correctly, but I also remember to have seen pasters on walls...I will try to find the pictures.
I would be very surprised that all posters from this image are fakes (except if Tokion was not authorised by Kaws?) Now, I also believe fakes have been made.
I actually have a set of the four posters that I bought many years ago. I actually don't know if they are official or not, as I have heard so many contradictory stories about this. But more details would be appreciated.

your second chance to own a bast piece......, by faute on May 1, 2008 21:30:23 GMT 1, I'm pretty sure Bast is on the case and you can expect a refund anytime now. Remember how hard they came down on that other eBay seller? Don't sell Bast!
This was part of a message bastny.com, when people complained about the price of a print:
Personally, I was just playing a bit with grantb. Because, the "no intention of selling", with mutliple subjects, was annoying... I choosed not to buy the print, thus I'm not really complaining.
But, I do think that asking for a pink one to immediately sell it is total bullshit.

your second chance to own a bast piece......, by faute on May 1, 2008 20:59:22 GMT 1, your acting as if ive lost my print?? obviously i will provide the winner with a refund if there was going to be a problem
I'm acting as if you're selling something you don't have and you don't mention it. This is forbidden by ebay, if I'm not wrong. You cannot have lost it as you don't have it.
I also believe you accept to sell the object to the winning bidder by your listing. As there are 50 of them, I don't think it would be impossible to perform your obligations and a refund would therefore not be sufficient.

your second chance to own a bast piece......, by faute on May 1, 2008 20:47:03 GMT 1, Could you show us a picture of the actual print?
(as I believe your listing don't mention that you don't have the print you're selling; If you don't have the print, what will happen if there is a problem in transit or you never receive it? Are you going to buy another one in the secondary market to fullfill your obligations or should we report you to ebay for breaching of the policies?)

BAST โข Clooney, Winehouse, Musk, Video 6, Sizziling Affairs, by faute on Apr 30, 2008 0:40:20 GMT 1, Substantially smaller, more expensive, less colourful(?) and for some reason untitled.
I have none of them. But, I actually do prefer the one from NIA from the pictures I saw.

Swoon's Babayaga is on sale again at BRP, by faute on Apr 24, 2008 20:19:07 GMT 1, Pez, I can agree with you. And I totally agree regarding hand-finishing. I can understand the use of the term as that it has to be unique (or simply not derived from anything, being the source from which a copy, reproduction, or translation is made, etc... like I used).
But, the mixing of both drives me a bit crazy (like using only the surface or the medium to differentiate) (edit: which is not the case here bobbymeachamjr and my message was not against you)

Swoon's Babayaga is on sale again at BRP, by faute on Apr 24, 2008 20:10:33 GMT 1, In the creative field, an original design = "Original". The first time you design something = the "Original
Thus, basically this for example www.newimageartshop.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=472
is not an original for you? Or indeed the vast majority of things by Swoon sold at NIA.
And why a Faile NYC print in an edition is not an original when designed for the first time? Only the first one in the edition like 1/12 would be?

Swoon's Babayaga is on sale again at BRP, by faute on Apr 24, 2008 19:51:31 GMT 1, Totally agree. Because shes so non-materialistic, I'm just a little sensitive to people potentially taking advantage of her talent. For artistic integritys sake, these are not originals.
Could you provide me with a definition of "original" (not "one off", but original)?
The use of the term drives me crazy. For example, is a Faile silkscreen an original if on wood or canvas and not on paper, or if 1/1 and not in an edition of 12?
For me, original means something like not derived from something else. Thus a screenprint in an edition of 100'000 without handfinishing can be to me. Or it's not in some cases.
I understand that you can disagree, but what's your definition?

The history makers, by faute on Apr 16, 2008 12:05:42 GMT 1, I think Basquait and Haring probably belong to a different movement - maybe street art part 1 It is probably too early to say and probably too early to categorise as we are living through it. But the art world does like to categorise and I am sure this body of artists producing works this century will be categorised and labelled and described as a movement in the future. And yes the defining characteristics won't necessary be about putting work on the street. It will also be about the sale of work on the internet, the democratisation in the ownership of work etc etc. But ultimately I hope that most of these artists will be remembered long term for the work done on the street.
I agree. Thus, I would say Banksy because he is the first and driving force into driving money into this. With internet, it could have been a lot of others, but it was Banksy.
Then, I believe also one piece or one achievement by many artists could be remembered. It could be like Spazmat or more precisely Skullphone, it could be Invader. In other words, Invader could be well be remembered for his achievement around the world (or he could also push further inside stuff).
Revs could be remembered. It certainly won't be. But, I hope he will. An individual who put stuff on a long-term basis, which is known and appreciated, and choose to show it, but never sell it. That's new to me.
Then, I believe some artists could be remembered as trademarks. You know Nike, Louis Vuitton, Rolex...The Louis Vuitton Murakami canvas? It could be become the other way around. Who will take that road? Do you think a Faile print or canvas could be produced in 20 years, without the two Patrick? I am crazy, but I would say it's possible. And the one to push further and blur further the lines and succeed will be to me (it's not simply putting your images on products).
Summary. Yes, it's way too early too me. I would not look in a too conservative manner regarding a movement, that should not be (not regarding the art in itself, which is by definition).
Purely as artist, I don't know shit about art, but the most creative to me is BAST.

The history makers, by faute on Apr 16, 2008 10:46:38 GMT 1, So my question is who is going to be the artists remembered in this movement? Banksy is a given, who are the other 2 or 3? This is not a question about money or monetary value. I'm just interested to hear people's views of who the Tate modern will be showing in 50 years time?
Which movement are you talking about? I'm not at all saying there is no movement. But, it would help to understand what's the movement? What does really link some artists to others?
neate and parla should definitely be included as both come from a background of doing/leaving work on the street .
If having put stuff in the streets is a major criteria, I woluld say Haring and Basquiat for sure. But, indeed not only because of the street aspect of their work.
I actually also believe some artists discussed here could be remembered but not simply because or as part of this movement.
Using internet to sell, putting up their own shows or having put stuff in streets? I am not a huge fan of categories, but throwing names as part of a movement without trying to define a movement does not make sense to me.
