BEEJOIR LV CHILD CANVAS ON EBAY!, by Sliding on the Walls on Feb 24, 2010 16:13:00 GMT 1, I guess because it's a brilliant image and he has captured the world we live in perfectly. I think it's really thought provoking and often stare at mine for ages at a time. I dont see it as vulgar, especially not compared to other images out there. Everyone likes different things though and I'm sure you will have stuff that I dislike.
Absolutely, I'm glad we all have different tastes! That's what makes this place such an interesting forum for me.
It's just this image in particular for me kind of strikes me as even more exploitation of the impoverished of our world.
I understand the meaning, that there are people starving to death, while other people can afford to spend £££ on designer wares but there's something about the fact that a) Beejoir would have made lots of £££ off the back of it, everyone who has bought one and subsequently sold it has made £££ too it's just too exploitative - if it was me, I would feel incredibly guilty about that, that is all.

Interesting to see it was £50 cheaper than the rest - I wonder why

Damien Hirst - 'With Dead Head', by Sliding on the Walls on Jan 14, 2010 16:47:14 GMT 1, There's just something about Damien Hirst that really angers me. Actually there are [glow=red,2,300]many[/glow] things, but here's the latest:
"With Dead Head" Damien went to a morgue when he was 16 as he knew someone who worked there. He got a photograph taken of himself next to the decapitated head of a man that Damien didn't know, just a corpse in the morgue. He smiles, in a 'check me out, isn't this cool' kind of manner and years later has the photo turned into a limited run of 1000 copies selling them for over £2,000 a pop.(making a cool £2 million if my maths is correct)
In my eyes that's like the lady pictured below making £2million off the back of this picture.
Am I missing something or is this wrong? I'm open to hear arguments in Hirst' favour... Please enlighten me
