Banksy Happy Chopper Print, by silvermyn on Mar 18, 2010 15:56:41 GMT 1, I'd say anywhere from £80-£120. If you've had it framed by Mr Frameman I'd say it's worth another £30 on top. I'm willing to offer you £170 for it if you throw in free delivery by courier. I'm also a cash buyer. Can't say fairer than that.
Others on here may think it's worth between £3.5K and £4k depending on condition but they are not to be trusted

Faile Print & Original Release, by silvermyn on Mar 18, 2010 9:21:37 GMT 1, It may be the time that their website is updating. IMO we will be able to see the prints for a few hours before the bun fight begins.

Window mount or float mount, by silvermyn on Mar 16, 2010 14:54:56 GMT 1, I always tend to float mount in order to ensure that any fading due to light is consistent accross the whole of the print. I think you can reduce UV exposure significantly but you can't illimiate 100% with glass.

Dran Special Edition, by silvermyn on Mar 4, 2010 18:35:09 GMT 1,
The excuse for trying to flip this one is a classic: "...very reluctant sale due to framing the standard Dran version."
I'm guessing the owner probably doesn't quite realise that the money saved on not buying the special in the first place would have been enough to cover the framing on the standard...

PEEP SHOW by Mau Mau - Released 1/2/10, by silvermyn on Feb 1, 2010 17:35:49 GMT 1, Got both the Oil Can and the Mermaid last year only to be refunded. Going to spare myself the b*ll ache this time around and keep my card in the wallet.
Can't quite work out what the message is either with this one. Is it that pole dancers dress as cops sometimes or that cops like to poll dance...?
Edit. Ah! It's a female version of a Rude Copper.

Insect • Bunny Girl Print, by silvermyn on Jan 25, 2010 16:09:46 GMT 1, I didn't realise pow did £50 coa's for prints other than banksy. , Yep, but that said there aren't that many other POW prints for which its worth spending £50 on a COA (waits for a long list of high value non Banksy prints to be posted......)
POW will only issue COA's for Banksy prints, at the mo.
What happened with this listing...? I was trying to follow it. Did it get pulled?

A bit gutted, by silvermyn on Jan 22, 2010 16:38:34 GMT 1, I'd explain to them that as they have damaged your property you shall be looking to recover damages + costs through the small claims process. This should prompt the owner into being reasonable about things. I think it's her call as the owner of the business not her accountants as to whether you get your money back btw.
It may also be worth going to a conservationist and having the whole job undone because they can do wonders with steam and deironised water these days I had a print damaged in the mail and the concervationist got it pressed and now I can't even tell where the problem was. Best of luck with it.
Edit: cost of conservationist doing a decent repair was £70 for me.

Sotheby's Contemporary Art Auction - 11th Feb 2010, by silvermyn on Jan 20, 2010 12:49:26 GMT 1, Good find Ross. If it is Hirst's then clearly the sum of the parts meant more to him than the original intact.
Bit sad really IMO...

When is a Warhol not a Warhol? Interesting article, by silvermyn on Jan 20, 2010 10:26:46 GMT 1, >>>>Having seen the pictures in the artilce I was a bit surpised to see that the Foundation's authentication board felt they had the right to stamp the back of a piece of work they did not own. Twice! You would'd imagine they would need the owners permission to do that. It's tantamount to criminal damage and I'd be suing them for that alone.<<<<< It's a disclosure statement on the authentication form which Simon signed when he submitted his painting. The Foundation stated (at the time, not sure if they still do) that anything that is denied will be stamped on the reverse. I recall reading many years ago that this stamp even showed through to the front of the canvas if you looked close enough which adds further insult to injury. Simon can't sue for that as he willingly entered that process but he can and is suing for the other obvious reasons. Fwiw, most people I discussed this with years ago felt he had little chance of winning.
Thanks for clarifying lee3. Figured there would be some sort of terms and conditions allowing it somewhere allong the application process. Be careful what you sign up for I guess.

Refusing to give a COA (as POW do) or issuing a public finding of the authentication of a piece is one thing. But surely marking/damaging private property in this way cannot be justified. IMO where there is clear evidence of fraudulent behaviour by the owner or there is an intention to deceive then the police should be involved rather than the Foundation taking matters into their own hands.
I do hope Joe Simon wins his case

Antony Micallef - giwtbb back up at pow, by silvermyn on Jan 13, 2010 15:44:29 GMT 1, I was in the old POW shop (in 2008 I think) and saw a couple of these Micallef's sitting around in a draw. They kindly offered to sell me one for £600 at which point I said thanks and that I'd give it some thought. Checked on the POW site and noticed that they initially offered them on-line for considerably less. Decided to get one from eBay in the end.
Based on the above, I would not be surprised if POW were holding a few prints back to gauge what direction prices are taking and then selling their secret stash some time later for more than they were originally on offer for. Or is this conspiracy theory #1021?

Any info on Banksy Bronze Rats?, by silvermyn on Jan 11, 2010 13:33:13 GMT 1, Hello.
I've had a quick look for info on the bronze rat statues Banksy did but couldn't find much online. Interested in knowing whether it was just the one format that was produced and also how many were released.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for info please? Many thanks.
Silver.
