LV & Others Still Available & Prices Reduced, by lobster on Apr 5, 2010 13:04:20 GMT 1, "I'd be pissed off if I was Beejoir and had given you a painting as a gift and you were flogging it for 4k"
I wouldn`t be actually - IF it was a gift (which we don't know in the first place) then I would be happy that what I gave someone helped them out - if they can get good money for it then good luck to them ?
At the end of the day I cannot believe that people are somehow making out that Gary has to justify what / why he is selling ?
Loved the comment about the gallery keeping the money for two years and having to be dictated to as to what they do with the money - sums it all up as far as I am concerned !!!!

FS-All Nick Walker Vandal & MA Prints SOLD , by lobster on Mar 23, 2010 18:09:27 GMT 1, tbh mate I think you are being MORE than fair with your prices - I have all these apart from London (which I am after if anyone wants to PM me) and the new one - I think Bristol is MAYBE a bit strong at £1500 but I think if sold individually you should get over £10K all day long ?
Great price for a great set ?

Looking for a Parla Watercolour, by lobster on Feb 13, 2010 17:53:36 GMT 1, Been offered one at £15K - good luck (!!) and others at more realistic prices - the £5K may sound low but I also bought one for around that figure late last year which was £4.5K + VAT (from memory) at source so as ever it all depends on how much people really want to sell - looking for something a little different to what I already have so please feel free to mail me some pictures.

WARNING to anyone buying prints., by lobster on Feb 8, 2010 1:36:23 GMT 1, Interestingly she just mailed me saying she had been offered more (I assume by you ?) which is a bit weird really as you would have tried to scam us both ?
When I spoke to her on the phone and asked her about PC etc it all sounded a bit vague and tbh I didn`t feel comfortable at that point.

WARNING to anyone buying prints., by lobster on Feb 8, 2010 0:27:42 GMT 1, fuck me !!! Just read this !!! I spoke to her as well and agreed a price of £1850 for the CND for cash - I said I would pay a deposit and asked her to send the print direct to Gary for frameing but to keep the PC - when he was happy with the print I would send her the balance and she would send the PC !!! Before I agreed this deal I offered to pay her train fair down to London and get someone to meet her with the cash but she said sh was "too busy at work" !! She told me that her boyfriends Mum was ill which was why she was selling the prints BUT then emailed me the next day to say she had a better offer on the CND !!!
EVERY bansky print I have ever bought I have always got someone to pick it up for cash or done it myself and your story mate just means that won`t be changing !!!
If you need any help with this just PM me !!!

Banksy Bomb Hugger Print, by lobster on Jan 20, 2010 14:22:33 GMT 1, I actually never knew there were only 50 of these and thought it was 150 BUT the last one that came up for sale didn`t make the 8000 EURO reserve the one before that sold at 7500 again EURO BUT was an AP and the one before that sold back in 2008 at £6K (where the seller would be luck to recieve £5K) so am I that far out ?
Glad your not selling PUD !!!!!

Banksy Bomb Hugger Print, by lobster on Jan 20, 2010 11:27:42 GMT 1, I think the problem also is that because of these type of prices being banded about it slows the whole process down as people believe that they are worth this much.A couple of months ago a guy came on saying he had a signed Queen Vic for sale - I asked how much he wanted and got the usual "make an offer" and I offered £4K which I thought was not unreasonable (?) - he came back saying he wanted £10K and had been "offered that by someone else" there was a sales thread ref a Stop and Search where the guy had been offered £3K framed - I think we all know that this is approx £1K over the going rate - if the guy got that then good luck to him but without trying to sound patronising I think the problem is a lot of people don`t seem to appreciate that their is a big difference from "buyers" "offering" X amount and people ACTUALLY pulling the money up - you just have to look at the amount of prints that get relisted on ebay to illustrate this ?

Banksy Bomb Hugger Print, by lobster on Jan 19, 2010 19:15:08 GMT 1, Totally agree with spansky / Jon on valuation - I was at the auction for the CWSB and it stalled at £6500 and a very rare "Bethlehem" trolleys made just over £4K before christmas which I would personally value at far more than "Bombhugger".
I think £4K would be a fair result for both parties for this print.

Banksy • Flag GOLD, by lobster on Jan 10, 2010 13:38:07 GMT 1, Absoloutely - I don`t think the price is too far out at all and as everyone says with the seller you KNOW you won`t be messed about etc which is the most important thing as far as I am concerned.

How much are Banksy Nola's changing hands for?, by lobster on Dec 12, 2009 14:53:58 GMT 1, Can`t agree with you Matt - what are you looking at ebay sales ? We all know that 3/4 of the times the sales don`t go through as the "buyer" doen`t pull up the money.
I just bought a print off a guy from ebay who had "sold" it 4 time only to be let down each time !!
A Napalm recently couldn`t get to £4K and I think Als Trolleys stalled around £5K ?
I think if there was a GENUINE buyer at £3K its a very fair deal in this market ?

Banksy • Weston Super Mare Print, by lobster on Dec 1, 2009 23:23:16 GMT 1, Interesting thread !!!
If you don`t mind me saying I think you are looking at this from the wrong point of view -
This print you paid £100 and lets just say you sold it today for £3250 (which is about what I think it is woth for CASH) then surely you have made £3150 ? The fact that as Jon said you may have got £7500 for it 2 years ago doesn`t mean you "lost" £4250 (the difference in profit) - you haven`t "lost" at all surely you can only gain ? What you mean is you "could" have made more if selling at various different times but how were you to know exactly when to sell ?
The other thing to consider is of course you have (I assume) enjoyed the print over the period of time you have had it and also you MAY need the cash NOW which of course means that is another factor to consider ?
To be honest if I bought a print for £100 , had enjoyed it for a number of years and it was now "only" worth £3K more than I paid - what a teriffic problem to have !!!!!
Either way good luck with whatever you decide.
