Various Signed Banksy`s for Sale inc GWIB, by lobster on Oct 24, 2009 11:53:12 GMT 1, Am just buying some canvasses so MAY be looking to sell some or all of the below - All prints are museum framed by Gary (MrFM) at a cost of apprx £400, have Pest Control Certs and are immaculate - a couple of guys here from the forum have seen them and frankly they look the "nuts" !!! The PF and GWIB are also VERY low numbers (less than 5).
I am a complete luddite when it comes to technology but please feel free to forward your email and I will send pics although please bear in that they will be from my iphone.

Banksy NOLA wanted, by lobster on Oct 21, 2009 20:23:59 GMT 1, hmmm (!!!) - apologies if I my post sounded condescending - it really wasn`t meant to be - I was just trying to help and I didn`t want you getting "bolted up" on a print for a crazy price - that was all. When I started buying these prints I was VERY fortunate that a lot of members of this forum helped point me in the right direction but unfortunately their were others who offered me prints at crazy prices to try and take advantage.
Check auction results - allow for the buyers / sellers fees and that is a great indication of what these prints are worth at a certain time.
Regarding "professional poker players" - it is normally a euphemism for unemployed - in fact i will tell you a joke - what do you say to a "professional" poker player ? Keep the change as you pay for the pizza he has just delivered you !!!

Banksy NOLA wanted, by lobster on Oct 21, 2009 20:00:58 GMT 1, simonf - with the greatest respect I think you are confusing items on ebay that end on a certain figure and actual sales.
Since January of this year I have a big investment in Banksy prints and I would estimate that on at least 20 occasions I have bought prints by various artists from who had people who had previously "sold" them on ebay. For this reason I think looking at ebay "sales" / expresso beans is actually pure fantasy and although a guide in my opinion a very inaccurate one of what the prints are likely to really sell for.The latest example of this was the recent festival print that was "sold" on ebay - I contacted the seller who told me that it had been sold , done deal etc - I received a mail today saying they had been messed around terribly and it was now for sale again - on one occasion I bought a print from a guy who had "sold" his print on FOUR separate occasions on ebay and each time the "buyer" failed to pull up the money !!!
I don`t buy / sell stuff on ebay so I cannot comment whether this is indicative of ebay or just art prints - I also believe that on some occasions the prints are deliberately "shilled" up and therefore the last bidder is left with a vastly overvalued print that he can`t afford or maybe bidders simply get carried away and when they have time to reflect they then pull out.
£4.5 for J&J , £3.5K for a Nola - these are joke prices and I am sure there are a number of people on the forum who can source these prints for nearer half these figures.
The other problem is that this actually slows the market because it gives sellers a totally unrealistic expectation of what their print is worth - because they see a J&J go for £4.5K they feel that is the going rate and the reality is that they will of course NEVER sell it at that price but of course they are convinced they will get that price for it.

Banksy - Bethlehem - Gold Flag, by lobster on Oct 13, 2009 13:03:18 GMT 1, Most importantly don`t go out and spend the money as soon as the print "sells" - I am convinced more than 50% of "sold" Banksy prints on ebay the "buyers" never pull up the money , shill bidding etc etc.
For what its worth I think you are better off trying to do a deal with someone "face to face" on here - I already have one or I would def be contacting you - great print and good luck.

Banksy • Weston Super Mare Print, by lobster on Aug 24, 2009 17:17:54 GMT 1, EXACTLTY Jon - that was the point I was trying to make.
If truth be told I bought the NW for the wrong reasomns - adn look where it s got me ?
As for those ebay results that of course assumed the "buyer" came up witht eh money which lets face it is a battle in itself ? Even if they did the seller would have to pay all the fees etc - £3.5K buys this printy all day long IMHO.

Banksy • Weston Super Mare Print, by lobster on Aug 24, 2009 16:42:51 GMT 1, For what its worth I think £3.5K will get you this print quite comfortably in THIS market - on the basis of what other prints have gone for.The guy selling flying copper on ebay which was framed and in perfect condition had to list it several times before it "sold" at £3500 if it ever did ? There are loads of examples of older prints going for a lot less than people expected - the fact is that £3500 will buy you a LOT of Bansky at the moment.
In terms of what people paid in the past - I just don`t see it as relevant to what they are worth now and at the end of the day unless you want to sell it today then it doesn`t matter ? I am sure that a signed WSM in 10 years time will look VERY cheap whether you paid £3.5 or £5.5K for it ?
Pity I cant say the same about my NW "procrastination" canvass which I paid £7k for !!!

Banksy Christ With Shopping Bags, by lobster on Aug 16, 2009 16:57:46 GMT 1, No probs - I think thats what it SHOULD be about - trying to help each other.
Try messaging people on ebay as well and tell them you will meet / pay CASH - very few prints for sale there actually go through and that is how I have got a lot of my prints.

Banksy Christ With Shopping Bags, by lobster on Aug 16, 2009 16:20:13 GMT 1, I think thats about right - £5 - £6K the problem is that obviously there are only 150 of them and are very much a classic IMHO so people tend to keep hold of them - was the first Banksy I wanted and took me ages to source.
Napalm you SHOULD be able to source at under £4K - near £3K would be my best guess.I would also consdier "IFTL" - great print and you should pick one up for around the same money
I think you are spot on with the other two just make sure WHATEVER you do DONT waste your money on a Parla ?
