Antony Micallef "Happy, Deep Inside My Heart" Sept, by Martin M on Sept 5, 2011 21:09:06 GMT 1, Had a sneak peak at the show today and its fantastic. i now have my first Micallef original, something ive been after for a few years and am absolutely made up! Head 3 apparently is to be the print from the show. Looking forward to the preview night, last time it was a great night.

Terrible art at terrible prices, by Martin M on Jul 18, 2011 10:23:06 GMT 1, No offense taken Artcollector, and I agree that it would be a joy to peruse over many releases from the galleries on this forum, I always prefer to buy at auction as you get the catalogue, you have time to look at everything and do a bit of research, often things jump out at you, purely for the image itself, I have bought a lot like this and still like all of them on the wall, I bought Bombhugger from Bonhams years ago completely on the image, I still love it (so does the wife!) and I will never sell it, I had little idea who Banksy was at the time. Cheers, M

Terrible art at terrible prices, by Martin M on Jul 17, 2011 22:24:39 GMT 1, Hey Artcollector Only an opinion!. So if Banksy released that image would you buy it?, do you think the whole edition would remain unsold...I think not. Pesonally its not to my taste but the argument that a cirtain picture is crap could go on forever, especially with the birth of contemporary art it seems more often to be more "who`s it by" (and by the way i didn't but it!)

Terrible art at terrible prices, by Martin M on Jul 17, 2011 20:46:37 GMT 1, To be cynical, If it was by Banksy it would sell out in seconds and their would be 100 or more pages on here discussing the value, flippers, how to release it, where its released, when its released, their would be very little discussion about the image, look at the 150 plus pages about CYW!.............Funny old world is the art world!

Tracey Emin Kate Moss f/s, by Martin M on Jun 3, 2011 13:07:28 GMT 1, One of Emins best prints, and one of my favourite prints on my wall. And it won't offend anyone like a lot of her other work. Good luck with sale.

Tracey Emin "The Kiss" Print, by Martin M on May 19, 2011 22:20:46 GMT 1, I suppose its better than a tacky mug for the old wedding from the pound shop (unless its the Modern Toss one which is dam funny), and its wall friendly and wont upset the kids, friends, neighbours like a lot of Tracey s stuff. Anyhow i have Kate Moss by Tracey on the Wall and i love it, not sure about a lot of the other stuff though. Will pay a visit to the Hayward to see her show, make me mind up then.

Your latest Art Purchase?, by Martin M on Mar 26, 2011 12:59:29 GMT 1, Thanks HH, all my framing is done at Gallery 128 in Wimbledon. Very nice bloke called Charles runs it. He's framed about 20 pics for me and there all brilliantly done and at a good price. He does restoration as well. Highly recommend him, top bloke.

bonhams Vision 21 Knightsbridge, 16 Mar 2011, by Martin M on Mar 16, 2011 19:52:27 GMT 1, I also went to view jl, and agree that the GWB paper was waved, fixable i suppose, and better than a few i`ve viewed recently. Had a few bids but didn't think it would fetch £13200. VLH price is mental.

Hirst • Valium, by Martin M on Mar 9, 2011 16:46:40 GMT 1, Hi Jeep, I have pm'd with a signed Banksy offer ( this is my favorite Hirst spot print), but have not had a reply. In light of the issues raised can you clarify a few things to put everyone at ease. Which gallery did you purchase from and can we see the receipt?. Can we see the Eyestorm receipt and the numbering. a close up of the signature. Thanks

Affordable Art Fair - london, this week., by Martin M on Mar 7, 2011 18:25:47 GMT 1, Preview night is always a good night, The AAF has come a long way from its humble beginnings. Newer modern work seems to turn up each year which is good, still a splattering of "chocolate box art" though.

WTB: GIRL WITH (RED) BALLOON: SERIOUS ONLY, by Martin M on Feb 11, 2011 13:46:59 GMT 1, Now that's how to frame GWB, nice one naughtyshorty. I have recently been offered a signed one of these that I am tempted by, I went to see it and was surprised how off white the paper is, almost yellowish. Is this normal with this print or has this one just been stuck in a window. I have seen one before that i seem to remember was off white. Be interested to know some info from one of you lucky owners, thanks.
