My Idea For A Fairer/Better Way To Release Prints, by Silentbill on Oct 8, 2009 9:39:43 GMT 1, Ive personally experienced and also read a lot of ppl complaining of the way prints are released.
The waiting in lines only to be sold out before you reach the front, knowing you should have well have been in with a chance of a print. Submitting an entry to an email lottery, not winning then seeing 50 prints on ebay.
I came up with an idea that would make it better/fairer which I posted in the thread below:
urbanartassociation.com/index.cgi?board=artwork&action=display&thread=40755
(At that thread scroll slightly to see the Banksy themed card)
As I have explained within that thread a scratchcard concept could be used by any of the more famous artists. This would act threefold.
A more fairer and exciting chance to get a print, the winning tickets have the option of buying the print.
The profits of the tickets could be donated to charity
The ticket gives the chance of fans to own an affordable piece designed by they artist .
I submitted the idea to Banksy's PR and POW but nowt has came of it. What do others think of the idea?

Banksy = sell out?, by Silentbill on Oct 6, 2009 14:21:47 GMT 1, I wouldnt consider Banksy a sell out for profitting from his skill, how many anti-capitalist anarchists out there work as skilled labourers? (Carpenters, painters etc). The fact that celebrities are buying his work probably not only gives him a buzz but also allows him to use the money on other projects which he wont see any profits from.

Flout Convention one-off, by Silentbill on Oct 6, 2009 9:25:38 GMT 1, This really made me smile this morning, the play on words used for the title tied in with the piece is spot on. Im sure we can all relate to this image.
This is looking ace and cant wait to see the finished version (Looks that good now I assumed this the final version). A Keep in line sign on the wall would have finished this for me.

Dawn Of The Debt - My First Stencil Attempt, by Silentbill on Oct 6, 2009 9:06:16 GMT 1, I was debating using the adhesive spray on the zombies also but I wanted the overspray to give it a hazy heat melting effect. Your both deffo right though as it is crisper cleaner images that have that really good finish look.
I used crappy paper for the stencil but for next idea I will get some decent card and prob go 4 times bigger.
I want to use this picture, insert a football and label it Spot The Ball TW*T

Dawn Of The Debt - My First Stencil Attempt, by Silentbill on Oct 5, 2009 21:26:45 GMT 1, Here is my first attempt at a stencil which I have been wanting to do for weeks. I have learnt so much of my first go and I have so much respect for the effort that you stencil artists put in (the cutting killed my fingers).
Sorry about the bad image quality (I need to invest in a decent camera)
DAWN OF THE DEBT
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I have a few more stencils Id like to attempt.
Also here is my kids finished stencil on canvas which she made as a gift for her friend which I think annihilates my effort.

"Bankers bone up on Banksy", by Silentbill on Sept 21, 2009 19:00:17 GMT 1, There is a current mad dash towards assets and as Ive mentioned in a previous post, Bankers are probably going to recieve their bonuses in a non monetary form this year and will be snapping up all those donuts off the bay.
On another note is it just me or does it appear that over 10% of the donuts released have appeard on the bay? A different method of print release needs to be devised, I may have the solution.

Wake up sheeple, by Silentbill on Sept 16, 2009 10:06:23 GMT 1, This is a catch22. Whilst it is a good idea that it should ensure vulnerable people are kept safe it is nothing more than a way for UK PLC to get even more cash out of its employees to restock its coffers it emptied bailing out all banks. It is playing upon peoples fears and the fact that no one would disagree we shouldnt be protecting the vulnerable with this scheme.
I understand molemans frustration and message, not every doer of good deeds can afford the cost of the CRB (Would my wife be deemed a criminal if not CRB checked and offering our child's friend a lift home from school?).
Where does it all end, which is summed up nicely in skylarkins comment of his proposed stencil. skylarkin you gotta do that stencil its a brillaint idea.

I want to buy a painting, by Silentbill on Aug 29, 2009 22:49:51 GMT 1, Ive heard a lot of rumours that bankers bonuses this year are going to be of the art and collectables variety rather than obvious cash rewards. I can imagine a surge in first time posters asking people to part with their banksy's.

fake green nola on the bay?, by Silentbill on Aug 25, 2009 22:54:03 GMT 1, Townsend05 claims to work for POW. From what I gather from a little looking on the net I think this is the sellers myspace page www.myspace.com/pinballwizard06 . No mention of working for POW there. Also his interests listed ways of making money a few days ago which has mysteriously vanished as of the 23rd.

sort of give away, by Silentbill on Aug 25, 2009 18:32:21 GMT 1, Hi Moleman
I will take some of them zimbadboys off ya hands (will compensate ya or swap ya other notes). Id like to see you do your original idea of combining them all onto a blank canvas with something else added like 10 100 trillion Dollars and 1 USA dollar, signifiying the Zimbadboys worthlessness. I was going to do something similiar with notes from around the world and a stencil over it saying "FIAT"

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by Silentbill on Aug 22, 2009 0:17:57 GMT 1, I know how easy these would be to replicate and would like to buy one of these off a forum member rather than an ebay seller.
Anyone with one for sale can contact me in forum or via PM.
Thanks
