Daniel Arsham 🇺🇸 New York • Eroded Future Relic, by sakyamuni on Jul 20, 2016 15:16:25 GMT 1, I think you can easily find the tape for much less than that. It is not very popular and unlike the clock, easy to ship anywhere in the world for a good price. For the eroded camera, price is ok but if I remember well jb was offering one not too long ago at a similar price.

Swoon related news, by sakyamuni on Jul 19, 2016 13:17:13 GMT 1, update from swoon studio
Swoon Studio is excited to announce that one of the artist’s most iconic portraits, Alison the Lacemaker, will be featured as a brand new print release on Wednesday, July 20th. Presented on handmade tea-stained jute paper, each signed-and-numbered 20” x 26” edition of 150 presents a beautifully vivid multicolor and metallic gold silkscreen of the iconic figure, which debuted over ten years ago at Swoon’s eponymous New York solo show with Jeffrey Deitch.
Alison the Lacemaker marks the first major release from Swoon in Print, Swoon Studio’s direct sales platform for editioned prints. Swoon described of Alison the Lacemaker:
“When I’m drawing a portrait, I will often have an art-historical reference somewhere in my mind. It’s usually not that I set out to make a reference; just that when I’m drawing, I’ll find a similarity in spirit or composition and let it keep the portrait company while I’m drawing. For Alison the Lacemaker, I was drawing a portrait of my friend sewing when Vermeer’s Lacemaker emerged as a natural muse. The portrait is in honor of theLacemaker, but also a separate nod to the ability of early European woodcut masters—like Jost Amman in his noted depiction of Adam and Eve—to tell such poignant stories about the knowledge of our own mortality.”
In the spirit of the artist's collaborative approach, Swoon offers collectors the opportunity to acquire this work directly from her studio as the first major release on Swoon In Print. The limited edition Alison the Lacemaker will be available on Swooninprint.com on Wednesday July 20th at noon est.

Truck Attack, Nice France, by sakyamuni on Jul 15, 2016 10:08:29 GMT 1, can we please stop arguing about who's right or wrong ? If there was just one thing to do to end all this things would be over yet. We live in a complex world, so let's stop the self-indulgent "I thought about it for five minutes behind my screen and I'll tell you what the world should do". Do us a favor, keep it for yourself. Outside here, it's the real world and people die for real. It's a forum. People are entitled to their opinions. they are. But my guess is if you want to debate seriously about geopolitics and world affairs then you should look for a more adequate forum than a street art forum. This forum has clearly demonstrated in the past that these issues should be avoided at all cost... but that's just me. Do as you wish

PEZ - Pierre-Yves Riveau, by sakyamuni on Jul 12, 2016 15:54:03 GMT 1, to be honest I lost interest in his work but for sure he is talented. I like his work when it mixes graffiti and urban settings but that's just me... Here is a drawing I bought a few years back.

Kaws US, by sakyamuni on Jul 7, 2016 18:10:10 GMT 1, I've never seen an original in my life nor a fake, only pics on the web..Probably i guess the main fake detail is that instead of ceramic this would be poor rubber or vinyl..and the fisionomy of the figure itself.. For sure somebody who sees both could be more helpful! The original is vinyl as well. Ceramic and resin 11.5 x 5.125 x 3.562 in (29.21 x 13.02 x 9.05 cm) Edition of 100 Inscribed on base of right foot

Dale Marshall 🇬🇧 Vermin • New Paintings • Exhibition News, by sakyamuni on Jul 5, 2016 16:19:33 GMT 1, from an email today:
Hello everyone, Just a quick update and to extend an invitation to our latest exhibition on August 3rd at 6pm for drinks and viewing. Dale has re-lived a part of his darkest past to present a wonderful show. 'I am not a child' is raw and gritty with a couple of museum sized works. If people are complaining that street art to the gallery system is dead then its worthwhile attending this exhibition..You're welcome. Details below and many thanks!
RSVP Vanessa@vbfineart.com
'I am not a Child Exhibition'
Dale vN Marshall’s latest exhibition aims to help to raise awareness of mental health in the young, drawing inspiration from the time he spent painting and talking with teenagers in Edinburgh who live with conditions such as anxiety, ADHD, autism and circumstantial trauma.
Originally a graffiti artist who sprayed paint on the streets of Bristol under the tag ‘Vermin’, Marshall was once sectioned in one of Britain’s oldest psychiatric hospitals, St Lawrence’s in Cornwall. He draws inspiration not only from his graffiti days, but also from his time at St Lawrence’s and from his studio in a former Victorian workhouse in Wales, redolent of suffering and poverty.
Marshall’s multi-media work consists of a symbolic language of abstract expression, text and mark-making, using materials ranging from needles, threads, acrylic, wax crayons and watercolours as a language to tell his compelling story. This new body of work explores heavy mark making with elements from the children’s poetry and graffiti text, shining a light on our innermost thoughts and feelings.
Vanessa Brodrick from VB Fine Art comments, This exhibition is about shared experiences and giving the youngsters a platform to be heard. This body of work will make us stop in our tracks and think about what today’s teenagers might be going through. What came across loud and clear during the time we spent with the youngsters is that they all seemed to feel that they were heard but not listened to and that they were unique. Dale spoke to the group on an equal footing and, in turn, they gave Dale renewed courage to re-visit his darkest moments from his own youth. All of their stories are complex, individual, yet powerfully interwoven.
