Les Ballets de Faile, by Sundowner on Jan 3, 2013 19:56:20 GMT 1, Just received this from Faile for anyone who is interested!
Happy 2013 everyone! Hope you had a great holiday and New Year's Eve. We have a big year planned with a few different shows in a few different parts of the world, but for the first one, we will be right here in New York City. As some of you know, we've been working incredibly hard for the last five months on a new exhibition that opens here in New York at Lincoln Center on February 1st, titled Les BALLETS de FAILE. We're proud to share that we've been chosen as the first artists to launch the New York City Ballet Art Series, an annual hosting of art inspired by the NYC Ballet. Over the past 60 years, the NYC Ballet has worked with an amazing list of artists including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Francesco Clemente, Julien Schnabel, Helen Frankenthaler, Keith Haring and several others, all of whom have created artworks and other visual elements for the ballet. Great company to be in. When presented with the opportunity to work with this American institution, we were immediately excited and intrigued. They opened the doors to us, giving total access to all their archives and visual history. We found several elements to create new work from and were greatly inspired overall by their artistry. We liked the idea of a show in their space and the idea of creating a new set of works using such a classic art theme like ballet. We've made many new works in the process and are very excited to share them with you. The centerpiece of the February exhibition is a 40-foot tall "Tower of Faile." The tower is freestanding in the indoor promenade of the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. It's big. We'll also be showing a new suite of paintings there as well. The Tower will be up for the Feb. performance and on view from Jan. 15th – Feb. 24th. The May performance will offer a new set of paintings and a new installation, still in progress. For the premiere of the NYC Ballet Art Series, NYCB will host two special performances on Friday, Feb. 1st and Wednesday, May 29th, 2013. You get to see the Faile exhibition and enjoy an evening of ballet. All seats in the house will be $29 and we created unique hand-painted works that will be given to every audience member who attends these performances to commemorate the evening. They've giving us the keys to the house for three days, with advance ticket sales for Faile fans starting today at 2pm (NYC time, using code: FAILE86) before the public ticket release on January 8th. That means you all get first pick on seats and can make a great night of it. Bring your sweetie, too. Check out the teaser video, here, to get a better sense of this. The FAILE site and the NYC Ballet site will roll out more information and images from the show over the next month. faile.net www.nycballet.com/artseries We will also be putting out some teasers on the FAILE Art Facebook and Instagram, if you see any of the work and want to share please use the hashtag #FAILENYCBallet or #NYCBArtSeries: www.facebook.com/FaileArt instagram.com/faileart ...

Les Ballets de Faile, by Coach on Jan 3, 2013 20:38:34 GMT 1, Ok, the obligatory beg!! Not as good as speebe's offer, mind you. If anyone in NY is going, and can pick up a spare giveaway, I will be incredibly grateful, and can sort out some sort of art related swap with you. It's worth a try!! Fanks.

"we created unique hand-painted works that will be given to every audience member"
A block seems likely to me.

Les Ballets de Faile, by Shoeless on Jan 3, 2013 22:35:11 GMT 1, A block is the most logical give away. I think we WANT it to be a print...but realize how many they will be giving away. That, combined with the cost per ticket, leaves me to believe a single block will be given to those in attendance.
Regardless, it should be a great event.
