Martin Whatson, The Cover Up Print , by natstan on Nov 28, 2013 14:15:40 GMT 1, Looks like I was presented with a sweet deal a few months back when an eBay seller offered $500 (only about Β£300!) for the edition of 30 (after a bout of offers and counter offers). I opted out in the end. Don't ask me the reason for that... still feeling sore about it but I'm sure the seller must be very happy the deal didn't go through then!
Anyway, that's about the only tagged print of his I dig so far. The rest of the tagging prints that followed just pale in comparison.

Martin Whatson, The Cover Up Print , by jayTown on Feb 1, 2014 9:19:29 GMT 1, How much should I be looking to pay for this print? I know it is a rare one of his but no idea how much it would sell for nowadays!... Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Theres one up on the bay at the moment. Will be interesting to see where it ends up!

Martin Whatson, The Cover Up Print , by spencerlee on Feb 1, 2014 9:56:54 GMT 1, I nearly got one straight from Martin, but didn't get back to him to confirm I wanted it. Kicking myself of course. I am not going to pay flipper prices, so I won't own it.

Yeah some of the prices are made at the moment. How much was it direct if you don't mind me asking?

Last I saw was over Β£500 with 6 days to go.. then obviously sold privately!! That was the XL edition of 10. The seller had listed it previously for Β£2.4k and Β£1.7k buy it now. Couple of offers on the Β£1.7k listing (Β£1k and Β£1.1k). Wonder how much he eventually sold it for!

Martin Whatson, The Cover Up Print , by Graham H on Feb 8, 2014 17:06:19 GMT 1, Wowzers.. thats a fair price!!.. I spotted it was the edition of 10 at 90cm tall.. rather than the 60cm one..
It is beautiful though.. and hand finished.. far better than the screen prints going for big money!
Well done the Japanese seller!

Thoughts on price for my Whatson cover up? It's 1 of 4 AP's from the edition of 30. Off the back of the recent Whatson feeding frenzy I genuinely have no idea.

Martin Whatson, The Cover Up Print , by met on Aug 6, 2014 20:20:43 GMT 1, Hi guys, Thoughts on price for my Whatson cover up? It's 1 of 4 AP's from the edition of 30. Off the back of the recent Whatson feeding frenzy I genuinely have no idea.
Michel Comte and Carla Bruni must be proud.
That "YO." text is spot on beautiful. It's actually more like calligraphy than tagging. The Basquiat crown too, which cleverly references Martin Whatson's heritage.
I hope this comment doesn't come across as too negative, but what the print lacks in my opinion is enough of Whatson's distinctive, colourful X-marks and heart shapes.
And "Punk", of course. One could argue it isn't a true Whatson without "Punk" appearing somewhere in the piece. All punks write this on walls, so that's another nod the artist often makes to his personal history and culture.

Martin Whatson, The Cover Up Print , by christiangul on Oct 2, 2017 22:53:02 GMT 1, This was up on eBay a few weeks ago for 1200$. Did not sell. Maybe a too rare print that it would collect that big interest?
Martin Whatson 'The Cover Up' www.ebay.com/i/222606670038
Maybe it will sell for a bit less than make love or love cops?

Yes I know it was main and this is ap. In my experience lately the ap's are somewhat common and don't collect that much more$$. Totally agree what you say. And hype has a lot to do with that.
