Martin Whatson, The Cover Up Print , by heller on Nov 6, 2017 23:34:07 GMT 1, This was up on eBay a few weeks ago for 1200$. Did not sell. Maybe a too rare print that it would collect that big interest? Martin Whatson 'The Cover Up' www.ebay.com/i/222606670038Maybe it will sell for a bit less than make love or love cops? It did sell, just off ebay.

Martin Whatson, The Cover Up Print , by soupy on Apr 13, 2018 17:47:56 GMT 1, the private sale on EB was entered by an EBer, Heller, who has entered A LOT of suspect sales that (imo) are way over market on a number of prints. i would treat it with a bit of skepticism. if it weren't a repeated pattern of setting print value highs, then i'd maybe more willing to "believe" the sale. however, the pattern makes me suspicious. just my 0.02.
anyways, congrats on the new baby and house.... but sorry to hear about your job.

Martin Whatson, The Cover Up Print , by soupy on Apr 13, 2018 19:08:10 GMT 1, not saying heller isn't "legit"... and buying prints off you doesn't really even have anything to do with the issue i was addressing (a pattern of private recorded EB sales with prices way over any other in sale history).
either way, docean is allowed to price however he wants so it'll sell if priced right. not trying to hijack the FS thread. carry on docean.

Martin Whatson, The Cover Up Print , by heller on Apr 14, 2018 13:05:36 GMT 1, There is nothing suspect about the selling prices. That is what the items are selling for, I am looking forward to hearing all the nice comments from the forum....
Bottom line, this is a VERY RARE Hand Finished Martin Whatson print, never comes up. Yes, at $3,000, it did sell for a little high, but, I sell to buyers who actually frame their artwork and display the work on their walls.
As for fairness to my clients, $3,000 is about equalivent to what the majority pays for a pair of shoes. Those who have dealt with me, all will say I am extremely fair and that is why we have been in the same location for 30 years.
In 20-30 YEARS, when the client is ready to pass down the work to a family member or send it out to the show to be auctioned off, we will see who got the better deal.....
Whatson prints, much larger total triage, hand finished sell for about the same price as Docean asking on the Bay all day long. Again, super rare, a work any true MW collector will appricate. Trusted Seller, buy in confidence.
If you can't find a buyer here, you know I will be happy to consign at your asking price and I will find that buyer for you, no problem!

Martin Whatson, The Cover Up Print , by genehickory on Apr 14, 2018 22:23:18 GMT 1, HF Print of 30, Whatson - $3K is a reach on here. You have the most hungry buyers of martin’s work here on this forum. No one pays $3K for a print. Dancer, HF Collabs with Snik go for most value. I estimate this around $1500. If someone (majority) has a choice between this and a “We are falling” - they are going to go with the collab which may fetch 2K.

Oh dont worry in 30 years time this will be the next Monet according to that gallery chap. Not to worry though as his customer's trainers are also worth 3k
I recon about 1-1.5k on this. I sold an angel for 1k and that came with hand sprayed spacers.

Martin Whatson, The Cover Up Print , by Unica on Apr 15, 2018 0:02:42 GMT 1, I've bought and sold quite a few pieces with the Miami gallery and had nothing but good dealings, I don't see why the OP can't list the piece at the price he wants for the piece, if you don't like his price then don't buy it. But no need to try and beat down the price.

Where else would you go to find a better collection of experts than a forum dedicated to urban art?

Martin Whatson, The Cover Up Print , by saint on Apr 15, 2018 14:58:23 GMT 1, I don’t care and have no interest in this print at all, but if everyone was saying “you’ve underpriced it, it’s worth double that” would that also be unwelcome opinion? If not then sorry but you have to accept that people will say if they don’t agree with your price.
It’s a forum, not a shop.
Saying that, it is yours, so ask whatever you want. If someone’s interested and shops at a gallery who’s clients buy 3000 dollar flip flops then they can afford anything.

Seller has clearly requested rule 11 be adhered to on the thread and I don't see any reason why people shouldn't do that.
<11. In Sales Threads; please respect the Original Poster’s valuation. Whilst you may believe you have a valid opinion on what a sensible market value is, another member’s For Sale Thread is not the place to debate the matter. If you have a differing view you should refer to the Price Check section and debate the matter there.>
Some threads say "Help me set a price.." some don't. Seller did state OBO ..could imply he is willing to entertain all this chatter. Or could just mean interested parties are supposed to submit an offer to purchase the piece to him through messaging.
Re: Experts - i would say this is more a group of like minded people giving opinions.. it would be a fools game to believe each person here with an opinion is an expert. <mine included>
