On Banksy's long silence, by Trevorm on Apr 24, 2013 15:55:26 GMT 1, ^ A lot of substance in Sean's post.
I'm a fairly late comer to the forum and my appreciation of all that is Banksy. I guess that some sort of death knell sounded with all the problems surrounding the later releases. Especially CYW.
It's all conjecture on the part of us poor uninformed lot as to what happens next - I say good luck to him what ever direction he choses to follow. Can't say I'm surprised that there have been no further releases fuelling those dreadful and embarassing skirmishes outside POW

On Banksy's long silence, by curiousgeorge on Apr 24, 2013 19:17:48 GMT 1, Can the VIP print be verified by anyone on here as I'm very cynical on the fact that some people on this forum are part of the Banksy inner circle. This forum's been going for a long time, as well as other, more informative sites, that no longer exist. And these started before Banksy's popularity took off. It is inevitable that people with access to certain info are part of these forums. Whether they post is another matter; and because what is discussed on this forum is nowhere near the standard of that on the old ebay forum, or WallKandy, these people are not that bothered anymore because this forum represents all that this 'scene' has become. Whether that's good or bad is open to individual interpretation.
Not to be antagonistic but a lot of the people you speak of have done very well out of the 'scene' Some might say they might have even kick-started the flipping scene. Of course they can still be nice people but to complain a couple of years down the line that flippers have destroyed the scene is a bit crass at best. This I know to be a fact having handed over plenty of my hard earned to them, so not a bitter opinion
That said it was refreshing(geddit?) to read multi page threads regarding images and meanings which seldom happens these days

It seems to me, and I could be wrong, that heavy weaponry has been painted more often than most and likewise has appeared in most of his shows over the years. I've always liked those elephants and to echo everyone else, this latest one is terrific.

There was a Heavy Weaponry in his Bristol showing too if I'm not mistaken.

On Banksy's long silence, by mmmike on Apr 24, 2013 21:51:56 GMT 1, Who am I to say but as nice as it is I think it is a bit lazy to reuse the image in 2013.
If money was no object and I had a huge space for it I would go for lot 15. I think that is the prize of the auction.

On Banksy's long silence, by Jeezuz Jones Snr on Apr 25, 2013 5:07:15 GMT 1, Nice piece for charity that... I wrote an earlier post in this thread that he doesn't need the hassle of prints any more & he only has to sell a few originals to the 'select' people in a year for a nice steady income. There are probably lots of OG's sold that no one here has seen. As suggested Banksy/Mr Gunningham/or who ever? could be now loving life in LA and the yanks love a bit of plastic surgery so he probably looks like Tom Sellick by now with another new identity. He'll probably do a big free show next in the US?? whatever he's upto good luck to him...

Or of course you can choose to not "consume" any of it and simply enjoy it for what it is. The greatest, most global, revolutionary grass roots art movement in human history.
