Aris is another italian artist who is a legend painting trains with his abstract forms that move in and out of figurative elements. He also has a solo show coming up.

Abstract Art, by Feral Things on Mar 1, 2015 12:23:21 GMT 1, Old-school writers Niels 'Shoe' Meulman from the Netherlands, Egs from Finland and Magnus 'Nug' Gustafsson from Sweden have a group show entitled 'Abstract Vandalism' at Galerie Gabriel Rolt in Amsterdam. The exhibition runs from 14 March to 30 April and there's also a nice looking book to accompany the exhibition available from Shoe's Unruly Gallery (sorry, I forgot to post about last night's book signing and live painting when I first saw about it):
Shoe gets mentioned on here now and again but here's some of Egs and Nugs abstract work:

Abstract Art, by Mirus Gallery on Feb 14, 2018 0:12:06 GMT 1, I was looking for this thread, I figured instead of making a new one about our next show I would share our next solo exhibition here as it goes along a little better with this thread. Also it would be good to see more contributions to threads like this.
New Solo Exhibition from French artist Gilbert1 opens with us this Friday in San Francisco.
Email info@mirusgallery.com for any PDF inquiries.
Mirus Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Gilbert 1 opening February 16, 2018 from 7-10PM with the artist present. The show runs through March 10th.
About the Exhibition:
Gilbert1’s process takes its roots in experimenting and evolving as much as possible and trying different mediums. He has found his own vocabulary assembling volume shapes with raw material in reference of a decadent world, and transforming his abstract letter graphics into deconstructed structures.
Creating in situ anamorphosis led him to develop an optical vision he enhances now in studio. Having worked recently the last years on black and white drawings and also as studies for tattoos - dotwork, gradients, transparency, translations, negatives - brought him to research in depth, dimension and perspective.
For his first solo with Mirus Gallery, Gilbert1 wanted to work more in this direction, in order to integrate his usual compositions and graphics in a surrounding dimension and play with vanishing points. He was interested to work on depth and height sensations as a door which suddenly opens under feet, a kind of vacuum which could never stops and create another falling possibility axis.

You know what.... I don’t think so! I know it’s not “urban” art but the previous works were not either. This forum is very generous and loves a varied style of art.

I have tried a good few letter combos but need fresh eyes or someone who recognizes the style. I have been trying to do a little research into exhibiting abstract artists in DC during this time period. The family said they believe it was in 1964 when purchased.
