flippers on expressobeans are well experienced at this kind of game.

But with only 25 prints being released it will probably be incredibly difficult/near impossible.

no matter how fast your fingers are, without a script it'll be impossible this time. when Geddes 'Acedia' print was realeased a guy scored 5 prints (maybe more?) with a script and multiple paypal/ shipping addresses. I bet he'll do the same this time.

yes, a script that auto-refresh a webpage and then proceed to the cart/payment as soon as the paypal button appears. similar things happen with print releases on websites with bigcartel or other e-commerce softwares. there are ways to automatically add a product to the cart, or even checkout directly bypassing the cart system. do you really think that serial flippers spend their days in front of a computer pressing F5? of course not, they paid someone to write a script that do that, or they wrote it themself if they're tech-savvy.

Or they will work in an office where they do this all day long.
Just a depressing sign of the times which affects concert tickets and every other event where demand exceeds supply.
The publishers / artists seem not to care (apart from where you have to pitch up to concerts with your credit card AND identification which is how Kasabian did it recently at the O2 Brixton)...
When there's a will there's a way. When the artists don't give a shit they don't bother.

that will never happen as long as people keep buying art/limited editions as an investment.

I have never even thought of this, but of course it makes perfect sense. After a quick glance on the Paypal APIs [1] [2], it looks like it would be real easy. Connect this with Curl or Wget or something of their like, and you don't even have to be near your computer while it gets you a ton of prints.

Fast forward a decade and almost everything discussed on here will be worth next to nothing (probably).

Obviously you don't know anything about programming.

Well, not sure... as said above if you have a GreaseMonkey script on your browser that refresh page every 30 s and detect Paypal button in DOM then it can be clicked automatically. And as posted before, if there is really an Paypal API that allow you to login and proceed with payment with Curl and IPN, then it's very easy process for tech-savy guy. Agree !

Lets suppose something like this existed that asked you the website / asked you the pay system paypal/protex / asked you the artist / asked your card details and asked your address and after all this you pop down the pub to leave it running knowing you have a good chance of purchasing and hey presto you get an SMS to your iphone from the program telling you you've been successful for something you really wanted. Would i use to it get art i wanted? Of course! Is it a guarantee? No, but would give you a good chance in times like these. Would i share it with anyone else? No. It would become a victim of its own success!
