At last some pictures! I was wondering when someone was going to post some to remind us all that there was actually a show on......there's been virtually no one commenting on the art.
Laz giving another masterclass in creating demand. They probably counted how many people there were in the queue before the decided how many to hold back.....had they priced these at Β£800 a pop, then no f**ker would've rocked up.
I think the images look really good and hitherto thought Dal was a little one dimensional but clearly there's some inherent skill there.

In a nutshell, the image is nice but the whole presentation with giant borders and off signature is throwing me off. I'd rather spend stupid money on his previous releases than this.

Do folks think his work translates to canvas? It really does. Looks stunning on canvas, but with the canvases at this show you'd need a damned big room to be able to appreciate them - they were all very large. |

Absolutely. In some cases the images are stronger on canvas than on the wall.
I think my biggest criticism about Dal's work has to be inconsistency with proportions. I know his style is quite free and in the moment but it seems like he rushes the spacial decisions or doesn't maintain control of the space he's working with for the entirety of a project. So he loses proportions in relationship to his wall or canvas. When he hold the space, his work is remarkable. When he loses control of the space his work is cool but loses the wow factor and is a bit off, IMHO.
I look forward to a show with more color on canvas. I have a feeling that colored tea stained canvases are on the horizon.

Just have to say that I'm a bit disappointed with the witch-hunts on this. We all know how Payney operates and if the galleries turn a blind eye then who are we to berate him for it. Unfortunately in this instance it seems someone else has been fingered wrongly (inbetweeners moment)
I know Steph personally. He is a top guy, will do anything for you and always has the collectives interests at heart. Apparently he doesn't like people taking sneaky photos.........er, so he'd be friends with nearly everyone 
I knew he was off to Dal with a mate and I have been tapping him up for a print.
It's interesting to hear that he has 7 as I was offering more than the closing price on the pair that went on the bay last night (how lucky am I that he said no)
So, he's either done remarkably well and shifted the lot, he's shit at flipping or someone is way off the mark

The editions are currently in the earliest stages of creation, with DAL choosing to experiment with both etching and screen printing processes, and we have no further details to share at this time of writing, other than to say they're all looking very, very good indeed... What we can however confirm is that contrary to a post above, at least one of the editions will be made exclusively available to those attending the preview of his solo exhibition at The Outsiders Newcastle on the evening of 21st of November, with a strict allocation of one edition per person. There will be NO exceptions to this - and absolutely no pre-orders, so please don't email us asking - any prints remaining available after the preview will be released online sometime after that date. As always, subscribers to our mailing list will be the first to be informed in advance of the online release, so if you haven't already done so, we strongly advise you to register at www.theoutsiders.net/mailing-list and keep an eye on our news page at www.theoutsiders.net/news for updates on progress, and for full details of the exhibition preview release ahead of the event.
